1971 - It’s a clear sunny day in a New York park as families and children enjoy the day. A mother and father tend to their son as their younger daughter strays off away from the park drawn to a figure in the distance. Before either parent realizes, she is mysteriously gone, nowhere to be found. Present Day - Every year, thousands of people go missing with no explanation, often never to be found. For Blake Collier, losing his wife Casey...with no answers, was not an option. Blake is determined to find those answers, leveraging every resource available to him. Along the way, Blake discovers the shocking truth to not only his wife’s disappearance, but to practically every missing person from the last 50 years. MIRRORS is the story of one man’s journey from a seasoned, war-torn life of killing to one of love and compassion; only to be forced back into his old ways to get back the only thing he’s ever loved. Getting Casey back will take Blake further and farther than his training has ever taken him and force him to question everything he knows and has come to learn.

I really enjoyed Mirrors, and it was reminiscent of Fringe and the TV show Twelve Monkeys. Roger and Blake find themselves on an adventure far beyond their imaginations. The idea of a parallel world isn’t new, but I liked the way the author put his spin on it in Mirrors. This book was interesting and had my attention from the start. I found it strange to see the term ‘Terminus’ used in this sci-fi book. I just ran across it in the last sci-fi book I read, maybe it’s just a cool word making the rounds. This debut novel from Jason Yormark was a fun read and the only dislike was the amount of editing errors I ran across.

This book impressed me in the content considering it's short length! I found the storyline very original, fast paced, and really enjoyed it overall.

However, the amount of grammatical errors throughout this book was atrocious and highly distracting!! It had me doubting the author early on, and I may not have finished the book if it wasn't a part of my Litsy book club, to be honest. Which would have been a disservice, because I did in fact enjoy the story in the end! So, if you are reading this and stumbling through the grammatical errors, hang tight because the story is worth continuing.

This was written by a debut author and self published. I think that Yormark has room to grow as an author, but overall this first novel shows great promise for his future work. I was a little frustrated about the lack of secondary characters in the first half, but more were introduced in the second which gave the book more depth. I still would have liked more back stories on these characters (Tamara, Jonah, Jordan, Dustin, Everett, & Reegan). I think that the size of the book could have doubled by giving more attention to these characters & won a 5 star rating from me (along with some proper editing). I would likely read more of Yormark's books if he writes again.

Great read!!!

The author grabs you right from the opening scenes and propels you through a fast paced and gripping journey to an alternate reality filled with plenty of action and thought provoking twists as you slide sideways to the finish.

Great story, great development, depth of characters was perfect. Tons of grammatical errors that puller me right out of the story but honestly the story was so exciting that it didn’t matter too much. I hope he writes more (with a better editor) i cant wait to read more of his stories.
