Inspiring testimony. Very quick read. The author will be speaking in our area this fall, and I read this to become more familiar with her story.

I actually think this could be fleshed out more into a longer memoir. She has lived an incredible life, and this book touches on the highlights, but it went so quickly.

I think one of the reasons I loved this inspirational story so much is because it starts with a "normal" girl from a "normal" Catholic family. Even with all the right beginnings and seemingly all the right foundations and environments, there can be layers of quiet pain and struggle that are nonetheless all too real and overwhelming. This is a wonderful story of God's redemption and of allowing oneself to "receive" God's love even when one doesn't feel worthy. Beautiful.

Read this for a book group. Although she makes clear how she lays out how she bottomed out and came back from it, there aren't enough details and stories to make the reader feel invested in her transformation.
