Wow, wow, wow.

As a young teen, I read Kim Meeder's Hope Rising and Bridge Called Hope, and they touched my heart in a special way, but I think I read them for the horse stories as much as anything. When I saw her newest release was on a subject that was already stirring in my heart, I knew I needed to read it. (And also, that cover is gorgeous!) What I read completely blew my mind and blessed my heart in an amazing and beautiful way, a way that very few books have been able to.

Meeder's writing style is so engaging, even those who struggle through non-fiction (like me) won't have any problems getting through this. Her similes and metaphors are so beautiful and I can instantly picture the imagery she describes. The real-life stories the author uses to further expound upon the theme of each chapter strengthened my faith and gave me a whole new perspective. Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if this book was twice as long, I enjoyed it that much.

I honestly cannot say enough about how amazing and God-inspired this book is. This woman and her walk with God inspires me so much. Don't read this unless you are willing to have your perspective irrevocably changed and your heart inspired and drawn closer to the Father. This is a life-changing book.

Hang on for a wild ride!

“When we take steps into our unknown, our impossible, we usher in a genuine experience of His all-known, His always possible.” I love Kim Meeder’s writing; it vibrates with passion and selfless love for God and everyone with whom she comes into contact. Her latest book is full of stories testifying what God can do with a life that is open to being a channel of His grace.

Kim Meeder’s book Encountering our Wild God is one that I will be pulling off my bookshelf and immersing myself in for years to come. Beautifully written and saturated in the Holy Spirit, Ms. Meeder’s book takes the reader on an encounter with our wild God and His unfathomable love, power and freedom.

I personally found this book relatable because of the way God’s creation is used in describing Him and how He speaks to the author. I, too, hear from God in the vastness of the natural world he created. Because of this, I was hooked from the preface, where Ms. Meeder describes taking her staff to a remote waterfall.

Each chapter explores an aspect of God’s character, beginning with His Wild Simplicity and ending with Wild Courage. Each aspect builds on the other, from basic fundamentals to realizing the calling God has for His children to go, see and do His work. Ms. Meeder uses scripture in each chapter, along with exploration of what the scripture means and how it applies to the topic at hand. The most compelling element of each chapter are the author’s recounting of her personal experiences. Ms. Meeder’s stories are what held me captive. Her ability to hear from and follow the leading of the Spirit is remarkable.

If you think God is confined to a building or the pages of a book, then you need to read Encountering our Wild God.

Kim Meeder does a wonderful job of introducing her readers to various attributes of God through scripture and first person accounts. I want to know God in this way. He is alive! I should be able to recognize His hand in my life.

Now I will be looking for Him in the everyday and not just at church on Sunday.

I couldn't finish it. I saw another review that said it felt a little far fetched. I felt that from the beginning and then by chapter 8, I was done. It almost feels like she has these grand visions of miracles and has written those. I tried to do research on Kim and can't find a single thing past her ranch's website and the podcasts she's been on. I get a very uncomfortable vibe while reading this book and the lack of information I can find on the author.

The stories are what make this book. Kim is a powerful storyteller. No doubt about it. Each story is interspersed throughout the book, embedded between Kim's meaty insights on God. There is a lot to think about in these pages, and even though you'll probably want to read it quickly to get to the stories, you really can't because then you'd miss out on the depth Kim's trying to impart. I thought a lot about my spiritual walk when reading this one, and I know I'm going to be picking it up again. One thing that was clear through it all--God loves us, and when we truly grasp that and experience it in our lives, His love will flow out of us into others... exactly as He planned.

A beautiful book of testimony and sharing God's Grace. Kim Meeder is an inspiration to put God first in all things, and love Him wholly so that His love will then go to others. Heard her speak and knew that this woman is filled with God's Sweet Spirit, and I had to read this book. Have ordered her first one, Hope Riding, as well. I know I will return to them over and over as the years pass. Highly recommended for Christians everywhere, and for those who are curious about what Christianity is all about.

I would give this 10+ stars if I could. Reading it is like sitting down with Kim herself and having her pour Jesus straight into your heart. Beautiful powerful stories and grounded in such truth that cannot be disputed. You won’t regret this one!

I loved this book!! It’s the second book I’ve read by Kim Meeder and it is powerful! Any book about God’s awesome qualities can be life-changing. This book was especially so! It has a compelling personal story in each chapter that helps the reader really connect with the biblical truths shared. There’s a heartfelt prayer included at the end of each chapter that the reader can pray for themself. These are powerful and some even brought me to tears. Kim did a beautiful job of expressing how wonderful our wild God is! As CS Lewis wrote in the Narnia books about Aslan - he’s not a tame lion, but he is good. God is beyond our complete comprehension, and yet the better we know Him the more we see His goodness, and the more beautiful our lives will be. This book is one I plan to reread often. I highly recommend it!

I loved this book and will return to it if ever I feel discouraged. To have recovered from her past the way she did is testament in itself to God's work in her life, but for Kim Meeder to have brought us other adventures in her exciting life with Christ was a treat. Her passion for God and his relationship with us is tangible. She has a good way of making you feel like you really want to go deeper with god, to understand Him better and experience what He wants to do through us.

Sometimes there were a few too many adjectives and I got lost in some sentences and had to go back over them, but I think it was Kim's enthusiasm for her experience of God. This book is for anyone wanting to go out into the world with a knowledge of how much God wants to be part of what they are doing.

Just what I needed, right when I needed it

I’ve loved Kim Meeder since I read Hope Rising when it first came out. As a horsewoman, I was drawn to her ministry and I’ve supported them as best I can over the years. I started this book in the hospital waiting room while my husband was having back surgery. I was reading it again in the ER a few days later when he developed complications and I had to call an ambulance. And during the night when he was in pain so neither of us could sleep. The past month has been incredibly stressful, but whenever I had a moment I came back to these beautiful stories of God’s love, provision, protection, and healing power. I’m so grateful I had this book to get me through a very difficult time. I know it will bless you, too.

Above and beyond 5-stars! This book is absolutely amazing. There wasn’t a single chapter that didn’t touch me deeply to the point of tears. I felt God’s presence in reading this book, and I’m so thankful He helped me find it. Each of the author’s stories powerfully focused my thoughts on the Creator and Lover of my soul and started my day with a boost of faith and hope while driving me to a deeper hunger for the things of God. I can’t recommend it strongly enough. (It was just what I needed in this season of life.)

Challenged to go deeper!

This book is so exciting to read as the author shares her experiences with our amazing God. Her words inspire me to deepen my relationship with God, and to let the Holy Spirit lead me into ministry opportunities. Her vivid descriptions of both nature and her encounters with God and other people are beautifully written. This book is for anyone who realizes that there must be more to the life of a Christian than what they are currently experiencing.

It is a privilege to peek into the life of Kim Meeder or any life that demonstrates faith and willingness to co-labor with God. The stories are wonderful, as others have said, but it is the truth of God that she reveals in such an unassuming and reachable way that pulled me in.
I feel like I raced through this book (though I did not) and will go back to it to remind myself of the power of the Spirit in our midst.

Attended a women's conference in March 2022; got to see/hear Kim Meeder speak. Very engaging, energetic & encouraging. Knowing people that own horses & train them, I have added appreciation for the stories & Kim's testimonies in this book. She really does have "wild" experiences with our Father God & enjoyed reading about them all.

Excellent book encouring us to never underestimate the Father's love for each of us or His interest in the details of our lives. To remind us to dedicate all our gifts to Him with abandon and await His plans with great anticipation.

I listen to the audio version of this work again and again. It's like coming back to the family dinner table after a long absence and saying, "At last! I am again among someone speaking the language I love and believe in!" Powerful!
