The pension plans that previous generations relied upon for monthly retirement income are vanishing and being replaced by self-funding programs such as 401(k)s. Today's retirees are now responsible for creating their own stream of income from their investments - and this income may need to last for more than three decades. So, the singular question every retiree needs to ask
Am I going to outlive my money, or is my money going to outlive me?
Plan on The Retiree's Guide to Lasting Income and Enduring Wealth addresses this question and many more about the management of retirement assets. The concepts taught within the pages of this book will demonstrate how a retirement income plan should be constructed and monitored to enable the retiree to transition a career's worth of accumulations into a lifetime's worth of income. With such a plan for living in place, retirees can truly plan on living the abundant retirement they dream of.
I got this book for free as a BYU grad--it was great! As someone who loves finance, the first two-thirds contained great general investing advice, but none of it was very new to me. However, the last third covered his actual retirement investment and distribution plan that was very interesting. It definitely looks like a plan that I would consider implementing. I love the organization of it and it all makes perfect mathematical and financial sense.
One of few books that considers how to create a viable distribution plan after retirement. Interesting approach that has made me think about new investment approaches.
Made me think on how I'm going to be ready for retirement some day. No surprises, but it instills the desire to do something active towards your goals.
This is the first time I've come across a realistic, detailed plan that gives me confidence that I can make my savings last beyond retirement for the rest of my life. Strongly recommended.
