Beauty blogger and owner of the Hamptons' hottest salon, Karma Sullivan has been swept off her feet by judge Morrison Drake. But she knows their passion-filled nights must end. She can't let her family secret derail Morrison's ambitious career plan. Even if it means giving up the man she loves...
My love for reading developed at an early age. My parents, Daniel and Gwendolyn Odidison, were both avid readers and encouraged me to read as much as possible. Trips to the public library were the highlight of my week and by the time I was in junior high I was reading everything from biographies to suspense to True Confession magazines!
I got my big “break” when I was only fourteen-years-old. I read my first poem at my local church and received a standing ovation. Reading my poems and seeing my plays come to life on stage proved to me that I had a God-given talent for the written word. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education, I hugged my family goodbye and boarded a plane for Seoul, South Korea. I loved every minute of living in Seoul. The people, the food, the culture, the shopping. Three years later, I returned home with a fresh outlook on life and a gorgeous fiancé (yay me!) Jean-Claude and I married, settled into our new home and now have an adorable, three-year-old daughter named Aysiah who keeps us very busy.
I penned my first novella while teaching in South Korea and upon the advice of a good friend and colleague I transformed, Other People’s Business, into a full-length novel. I wrote The Trouble With Luv’ soon after. Two years and thirty rejection letters later, I signed with super-agent Sha-Shana Crichton from Crichton and Associates. Six weeks later I had a two-book deal contract with Harlequin’s African-American Romance line, Kimani Press.
Her Kind of Man, and Love T.K.O. were both released in ’08, and this year there are more scintillating stories to come. I’ve written seven books now, but I feel like I’m just getting started! A huge thanks to all of you who attend my book signings, send me I-love-your-book-emails, leave messages on my Facebook page and who are recommending my books to other die-hard romantics. Sage Collins and Marshall Grant will heat things up in Games of the Heart (August 2009) and a feisty PR Director and a fine, ex-NFL running back rekindle the flames in Passion Overtime (November 2009). Read an excerpt of my novels under the heading Books.
If you enjoy a good romance story, rich with desire, scorching HOT love scenes and a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, you’ve come to the right place. Grab one of my books, recline in a comfy chair and enjoy the ride! I guarantee you’ll love the heroes and heroines featured in my stories. They’re strong but flawed men and women who are just looking for a little love and tenderness! That’s all for now, friends. Happy Reading and be blessed!
Pleasure in His Kiss by Pamela Yaye is a sensual opposites attract romance between a vivacious beauty salon owner and a Judge with lofty career ambitions.
Karma Sullivan has worked hard to make her salon a place for A-list celebrities. Makeup and hair for the stars of stage, screen and high society are her forte along with her staff. She’s hired Reagan, a seventeen year old high school student who has shown an aptitude for cosmetology. Unfortunately, Reagan’s uncle and guardian is not pleased with this development.
Judge Morrison Drake has strict rules and the best of intentions for raising his niece, and expects her to go to college for an academic career, not one based on physical beauty. His attraction for her boss Karma is an afterthought, until he thinks of a way to use it to his advantage. If he can convince Karma to date him, maybe he can also get her to convince Reagan of where she should be focusing her career aspirations. When Karma’s best friend Jazz jams out of her birthday plans, Morrison is happy to take her place, resulting in some passionate sexual encounters and the start of their real friendship. But will they be able to make that into something more?
I thought the book was better than OK . Maybe 3.5 stars would be better. Sexy good times leads to love. Karma Sullivan is the owner of one of the best salons in the Hamptons. Morrison Drake is a judge whose ultimate ambition is the Supreme Court. Both characters are ambitious and it's featured in the book which was a plus for me. The two meet when Morrison discovers his niece has been secretly working in Karma's salon. Morrison doesn't appreciate the influence Karma has on Regan who is his niece. Because of this I felt the birthday celebration was a bit over the top. An Hermes alligator watch seems extreme for woman that you are attracted to but still don't fully trust. There's an obstacle in Karma's past which she feels should be barrier in their relationship but readers don't discover until the end of the book
Karma and Morrison are truly opposites and even though they get off to a rough start, they truly become a wonderful couple! Morrison is more of a "stick in the mud/serious" type, whereas Karma is more adventurous and has a free spirit! Both are strong willed and meant for each other after they learn more about each other and learn that they compliment and can't live without the other...awesome love story that kept me interested and definitely laughing!
It has been a while since I read anything by Pamela Yaye and this book has me wanting to go back for more. This was a good story that keep me intrigued throughout. I need a follow-up because that no good fiancé needs to be dealt with!
I really enjoyed this story. Morrison could be a little uptight especially where his niece was concerned, Karma was delightful snd a self made woman. The oassion between them couldn't be denied.
I really enjoyed this story! The chemistry between Karma & Judge Hottie was explosive! I hope to revisit the Hamptons to get Roderick’s story! Ms. Yaye definitely delivered with this one.
Enjoyed the chemistry between Judge "Hottie" and Karma! Liked that Karma spoke up on Reagan's behalf despite Morrison's over-protectiveness! Great read! Thoroughly enjoyed this story!
