Back in Love, Alaska, Joshua Ransom comes face-to-face with ex-fiancee Honor Prescott. A single dad of an infant daughter, Joshua's no longer the reckless cowboy who broke Honor's heart. But discovering he's selling his late grandfather's land to developers puts them at odds. With the Diamond R's fate unclear, so is their future. Will this second chance lead to Joshua being one of Love's Alaskan Grooms?
Belle Calhoune writes heartwarming, inspirational romance novels set in small, cozy towns. Married to her college sweetheart and living in southern Connecticut, she is the mother of two girls. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she is one of five children. Growing up across the street from a public library allowed her to become an avid reader who aspired to be a romance writer. When she isn't writing, she enjoys reading, spending time in Cape Cod, traveling and enjoying time with friends and family. Belle hopes her books will provide readers with inspiration, entertainment and an escape from day to day life.
This is a Clean Cowboy Romance, and this is the 7th book in the Alaskan Grooms series. I have to say I normally love any book set in Alaska, but I do not think the Alaska setting really came through in this book. I really enjoyed the main characters, but I hated that most of this book they spend thinking the worst of each other. I wanted them to talk about things more. I really loved the storyline in this book, but I was disappointed that the characters did not talk more or the Alaska setting did not come out in this book. I felt reading this book that this ranch that was being talked about could have been anywhere. I did love the ending so much. The ending was cute and sweet which was everything I wanted for this book.
I can't even tell you how much I love this Alaskan Grooms series! Each book reads perfectly well as a standalone but I love the page time shared by favourite characters from previous books. Readers get to see how previous heroes and heroines are faring. Not to mention the beloved secondary characters who are the backbone of this town. Like the irascible Jasper and the indomitable Hazel. Those two crack me up every time!
And at long last we finally get Honor's story. She's practically town royalty and the cosseted little sister of protective older brothers. But even their fierce loyalty couldn't protect her from teen-age heartbreak when she fell head-over-heels-in-love with the town bad boy in high school. It didn't end well and even though years have passed, Honor's heart hasn't quite recovered.
And then Joshua shows up in town. Older. Wiser. Dedicated single dad. He takes her breath away all over again but their future looks murky when they find themselves on opposite sides of a town issue. Romantic tension abounds and my heart hurt as Calhoune slowly peels away layers of hurt and mistrust and reveals the sweet promise of a second chance happily-ever-after.
I loved this book so much. I think it's my favorite of the series. I really would love to see these novels picked up by The Hallmark channel. They would make a great tv or movie series. Belle Calhoune has never disappointed me yet and she knocks it out of the park again!
The last stop in Love, Alaska brings us a love story all about second chances. Honor Prescott is the only Prescott sibling still single. All her brothers have married and have families of their own. She is happy doing what she loves working at the wildlife reserve, but hopes for her chance at a real love like the one she had 6 years ago when she was a teenager. Joshua Ransom has come back to Love, Alaska after being gone the last 6 years. He left as a reckless troublemaker teen, but now has returned as a single dad who has made something of himself in Seattle. His grandfather Bud recently passed away and he and his brother Theo have come home to their hometown to honor him and deal with their inheritance. Even though it's been 6 years and they now find themselves on the opposite ends of what should happen to the Diamond R Ranch, it's hard to deny that there just might be something still brewing between them. Can they put away the past and their recent differences to find the love that never really left either one of them? Read the last book in the Alaskan Groom series to find out. You won't be disappointed!!!
I'm so sad to see this series come to an end. The Alaskan Groom series is one of my favorites. I've loved each and every love story that has taken place in Love, Alaska. Honor and Joshua's story doesn't disappoint. I smiled and I cried both happy and sad tears throughout this book. A few times I wanted to yell at them to wake up and smell the coffee. LOL I was happy that Honor was finally getting her own story and a chance at happiness ever since meeting her in An Alaskan Wedding. It was a beautiful story of how love can get a second chance and be even better than the first time around. It has a lot of heart. One of my favorite books of the series.
I love this quirky town and all the characters in it. And even though this is Honor and Joshua's story, we still get to spend time with beloved characters from former books. I'll miss this little town and all Love's residents so much.
I'm so sad that this Alaskan Grooms series is at an end! I've so enjoyed the town of Love, Alaska and getting to know the people that live there! I wish it were a real place! The author has done a fantastic job of creating a lovable town and wonderful, believable characters that readers can fall in love with. The final book is about Honor Prescott and I've been waiting a long time for her book! I have read all about her brothers and friends but I've wanted to read about her back story and then see her get her happily-ever-after too! She's been in and out of other books but I wanted her to have a book of her own! This one didn't disappoint! We knew she had gone to Michigan to college but in this book we found out why she went there, so far from home. No spoilers! She did have an ex-fiancée as a young 18 year old, Joshua Ransom, and he's back in Love to say goodbye to his grandpa, who has recently died. Joshua also hasn't been in Love for 6 years and now he has an infant daughter, Violet. I fell in love with that little girl! How precious she is! To see Joshua with a baby is killing Honor. She thought she'd have a family with him by now. However, they are at odds over Joshua's grandpa's land because Joshua & his brother want to sell it to land developers and that just doesn't sit right with Honor!!! She is going to do everything she can to stop that from happening! I loved watching these two argue & disagree, but ultimately, work through what happened to them 6 years ago. I hope you will enjoy this last book in the Alaska Grooms series! It's a keeper!!!!
If I ever get to visit Alaska I hope that there is a place like Love, Alaska, the fictional town created by author Belle Calhoune because ths is a town inhabited by good, respectable people that we'd all like to know. Two of the families, the Prescotts and the Ransoms, have been connected for many years but some of their past history hasn't always been pleasant. Honor Prescott and Joshua Ransom once planned to marry but her family never approved of Joshua's rowdy ways and painful circumstances soon drove them apart. Now, after being away for six years, Joshua has returned because of his grandfather's recent death and he isn't alone. He has a baby girl with him and this is an unexpected shock for Honor. She also resents that he and his brother may sell his grandfather's land to developers and she vows to prevent this from happening! Her Alaskan Cowboy is filled with disagreements, misconceptions and painful memories but these are eventually erased by the power of love, forgiveness and healing. I loved that many of these characters prayed often in this story and that worshipping God is shown to be an integral part of their lives.
I recommend this book for readers who enjoy heartwarming stories and Christian romance novels and I plan to read more of the Alaskan Grooms series.
I received this book from the author but I volunteerily chose to write this review.
When I pick up a Love Inspired book, I know a happily ever after is guaranteed. When I pick up a Belle Calhoune book I know I’m going to enjoy the journey along the sometimes bumpy road to the happily ever after. I’m a southern girl but Belle’s Alaskan Groom series has me thinking about packing my bags to move to Love Alaska. Seven books into the series, Her Alaskan Cowboy has as much charm and emotion as the first book. I’m a sucker for a book set on a ranch, and Joshua proves himself to be a white hat character. Honor is tough enough to tame this cowboy’s heart.
I love any book that has an Alaskan setting so this book was right up my alley. I liked all of the characters and especially the two main ones. Honor and Joshua have their problems and their secrets. They are far from perfect but the book has important lessons on forgiveness and not letting your pride get in the way of happiness. This book was won in a drawing with no requirement for a review. All views are my very own.
I have enjoyed reading this series from Belle! I was hoping to read about Honor and this book is a good way to end the series. I never would of thought of a cowboy in Alaska, but Belle made it happen. So fun. I suggest reading the other books in this series, but it could be read alone. I don't think you will be disappointed reading the other books either :)
Her Alaskan Cowboy is a Love Inspired book by Belle Calhoune. This is the best book that I have read by Belle yet. She sure knows how to write a story that makes you feel like you are part of it. Characters and a story line that you will love. I wish there was going to be more in the series it is that good.
I loved the whole story and the series. At times I laugh and at other times I want to cry How the characters resolve their issues is the best part. Every thing good comes from God
It's a pretty predictable Love Inspired romance. Another reviewer commented that when they pick up a Love Inspired book they are guaranteed a "happily ever after"--knowing that, there are only so many ways to get there.
Honor and Joshua were high-school sweethearts, though pretty much her entire family opposed their relationship. Honor broke it off after Joshua chose to take the blame for a church fire and they went their separate ways.
Now, both are back in Love, Alaska. Honor returned after college and now has a job she loves rehabilitating wildlife. She, and others, thought they'd get the Ransome land when Joshua's grandfather, Bud, passed away. Instead, his will leaves it to his two grandsons. Theo is convinced he doesn't want to return to Alaska and wants to sell the land to the highest bidder. Joshua doesn't really see a future in Love either . . .
I didn't like that in their youth Honor and Joshua had a sexual relationship that resulted in Honor being pregnant. (Honor chose not to tell anyone and ended up miscarrying.) I didn't like that the town, though calling themselves Christians, still seemed to hold grudges against Joshua for what they thought he did as a teenager. I thought Lauren's boyfriend/husband (I wasn't clear on what he was to her) bailed on her when she got breast cancer--obviously Lauren struck out more than once at finding true love.
I did like that Hazel was gracious and compassionate and willing to hope that the boys had changed in the intervening years. I liked that the brothers admitted to Honor what their reasons were for opposing her relationship with Joshua years before. I liked that Joshua was willing to become Violet's father even though she wasn't his biological child. I liked that Hazel and Jasper seemed to have true, lasting love for each other.
Her Alaskan Cowboy by Belle Calhoune is part of the Operation Love mini series. This series is about a small town who has created a dating service to marry off all the men of love. It has a small scarce of women and they are in hopes of women coming to Alaska for the program. Except in Her Alaskan Cowboy we get a second chance love story about people raised in Love, Alaska.
Joshua Ransom and Honor Prescott were the couple everyone just knew was going to follow through with that high school romance and go straight to the altar but life had other things in mind. Throughout years of heartache and pain Joshua return to love Alaska to settle his grandfathers estate.
Honor has tried to move on for years. Yet no man can compare to the love and feelings she felt for Joshua. So seeing him show up with a baby on his hip shakes her to the core. Then he wants to sell the land his grandfather was supposed to donate to the town and help her wildlife preserve. She won't settle for this and doesn't care just how much more hurt and pain it puts on hers and Joshua's relationship.
This book is a great read. I enjoyed every minute of it.
Honor Prescott’s ex-fiancée, Joshua Ranson, returns to Love, Alaska to settle the affairs of his recently deceased father. He was practically run out of town on the rails after burning down the quaint local church back in his late teens. Honor and Joshua were engaged at the time, but the church burning was the last straw for her and she broke it off. Now he and his brother return to the tight knit little community to settle the affairs of the Diamond R Ranch. Honor is shocked when he returns with a baby and a will to sell the ranch which had been promised to her as a wildlife sanctuary. The town is on Honor’s side. I liked the fact that the community stands behind one of their own. It was hard for them to stick behind Joshua because of his troublesome ways. Then there are the questions, is Joshua still married? Where is the baby’s mother? Is he still the troublemaker the town has always believed him to be? A revelation about the past sheds new light on one of Joshua’s old troublemaking stunts. Sparks begin to fly and they soon must decide what they really want out of life.
Her Alaskan Cowboy: Alaskan Grooms is by Belle Calhoune. This book is about the youngest of the Prescotts and the only girl. She had been taken care of by her older brothers all her life, even when she didn’t want to. Now she ran the wilderness reserve just outside of Love, Alaska. Her ex-fiance, Joshua Ransome had grown up on the Diamond R Ranch with his older brother Theo. When the church burned down, Joahua left town with his brother Theo. This was the last of the “bad boy things” he had done. Now he and Theo were back to take charge of the Diamond R Ranch upon the death of their grandfather. The town was certain that Bud had given the ranch to the town to extend the reserve while the brothers were sure he had given it to them. Honor set an injunction in place to keep them from selling the land to become a dude ranch. She didn’t think it would work; but someone had to try something.
Her Alaskan Cowboy is in Alaskan Grooms series by Belle Calhoune. Joshua Ransom returns to Love, Alaska after six years when his brother set fire, by accident, to the town church. Joshua looks like his brother and someone said it was Joshua who did it. Joshua said he did so his brother could go off to the army. Joshua left town. Now he is back to settle his grandfathers estate. The ranch was left to him and his brother and the little girl Joshua adopted. BUT....Joshua's ex-fiancee Honor Prescott wants the ranch for her rescue wild animals ranch to expand the ranch. Joshua's grandfather said he was going to leave the ranch to the rescue, but never got around to changing his will before he died. Now Joshua's brother wants to sell the ranch since the ranch means nothing to him. A very good read.
Joshua Ransom left Love, Alaska six years ago after some poor decisions he made. The death of his beloved grandfather Bud brings him back to town.
Honor Prescott gave her heart to her high school sweetheart Joshua. This couple parted ways under difficult circumstances and each of them still deal with hurts ad issues of their past relationship.
I loved this final book in the series and being warmly welcomed back to this cozy endearing town. The characters were so authentic. You felt like you wanted to be part of the Prescott family too.
It was enjoyable reading how Joshua did all he could to try and earn back Honor's love and forgiveness. Family secrets are shared and readers will have a chance to see if love truly endures in Love, Alaska. A sweet and heartwarming romance that will leave you believing in the power of love.
Second chance romances are at the top of my list of favorite reads, and Her Alaskan Cowboy prove just why I love them so much. The decision, Joshua Ransom made as a teenager is one too big for Honor Prescott’s love to hurdle, she had no choice but to walk away from him. Six years later he is back and Honor is shocked to see he has an infant daughter, proving he has moved on, but her love for him has not. Her Alaskan Cowboy is a page turning book so full of emotions you won't want to put it down. Honor and Joshua love story will warm your heart, it is a must read. I’m sorry to see this series end, I love the people in Love, Alaska.
This is the perfect end to this series, but I have lived with these characters and known them so well, as well as the town of Love, that they seem so real! Belle Calhoune weaves a wonderful & heartwarming story of redemption, healing, forgiveness, and unconditional, everlasting love. I received this print book as an anniversary gift from this author, and I freely chose to leave my own honest review. I highly recommend this entire series to anyone who loves to read clean Love-Inspired Romances.
I'm in love with the people and romance in Love, Alaska! The story of Joshua Ransom and Honor Prescott warmed my heart as the two of them see each other again after his grandfather's death. The story has great inherent conflict that keeps the reader guessing how on earth they will overcome it. It's a clean romance, but at the same time I can feel the attraction between the couple leap off the pages. I missed a few books in this series so now I need to go back and get those. If you enjoy sweet romance, definitely pick this one up!
The story was enjoyable and I’m glad I got it but at the same time I couldn’t get into the heroine. I was wanting to rattle Honor Prescott into waking up to the second chance that God was giving her with Josh Ransom before it’s to late! Pride and pitty parties only get you so far. Poor Josh Ransom has worked hard on turning his life over to the Lord and making something of himself. Now he is struggling to deal with his grandfathers death, the townspeople’s un forgiveness and Honor’s strife all at the same time. Can Honor see the change in Josh before it’s to late?
This is the last book in the Alaskan Grooms series. I loved watching how each character has evolved with each story. Honor and Joshua had a lot of obstacles they had to overcome over their years apart and when they first reunited, but it ended beautifully like it always does in Love, Alaska!
Belle Calhoune has become of my favorite authors from Love Inspired and I look forward to what she has planned next.
Her Alaskan Cowboy is a lovely end to Belle Calhoune's Alaskan Grooms series. I love the story of forgiveness and spiritual growth of Joshua and Honor. This small town and all its residents made every book in the series a joy to read.
A second chance romance set in Love, Alaska. Six years ago was the last time they laid eyes on each other. She was the town princess and he was the bad boy. Even with these differences their love was strong but opposed from his brother and her family. Her oldest brother being the sheriff and having to arrest him on more than one occasion. The final straw was the burning of the church. Eyewitness was injured trying to put out the fire. His scars caused great pain. The reunion takes place at his grandfather’s ranch after his death. Bud was beloved by the town but his grandsons weren’t seen in six years. Honor Prescott was whisked away to a Michigan college where she studied animal rescue and rehabilitation. Joshua Ransom moved to Seattle and his brother Theo moved to Los Angeles. Joshua was rumored to have been married a very time and Honor never had a relationship with any of the local men.. The brothers left town after the church burning. They plan on selling the ranch to outsiders who want to turn it into a dude ranch. The town is upset and especially Honor who was told by Bud that he was going to deed it and allow it to be an animal reserve protected wildlife in their natural habitat. Cute faith based story on second chances and small town romances.
It was a tender story. Full of misunderstandings, regrets, loss and guilt. Joshua had a heart of gold and Honor had no idea. Joshua Ransom and Honor fell in love when they were teenagers and decided to get engaged. Joshua and Theo (his brother) were trouble makers and sadly the Ransom boys were involved in the church's fire and someone got badly hurt. All thought Joshua was the one who actually set the fire. Honor broke up with Joshua. Joshua and Theo left town.
Years later Joshua and Theo came back to town after their grandfather's death to settle his affairs. They inherited the ranch which they were going to sell to a corporation. Of course Honor was opposed to it. Here is where the past came back and all involved had to figure it out. Honor had to tell the truth about losing Joshua's baby. She also learned that Joshua had adopted his ex-wife's child: Violet. And then Theo came forward with the truth about the fire: he was the culprit and gave his half of the ranch to Joshua.
Some may argue that this all could have been avoided had Joshua and Honor talked before all the misunderstandings but, for once this did not bother me. I liked what I read.
This is the 3rd book I read by Belle Calhoune. This book's storyline was okay. I liked the Christian ✝️ theme in this story. Honor's character was okay. Joshua's character was okay. I liked the ending.
I really loved the setting of this one. The characters were clearly drawn and the conflict and emotional dilemmas kept me reading. Because this is a romance, the ending was predictable, but it was fun getting there!
Ms. Calhoune identified several horses as stallions and then proceeded to call them “her” and “she” in the following paragraphs. A stallion is a “him” or “he”!
Started crying on page 197 & cried to the end of the book. Not sure if it was because it was so romantic or because it's the end of the series. Probably a little of both.
