Tim Seeley is a comic book artist and writer known for his work on books such as G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, The Dark Elf Trilogy, Batman Eternal and Grayson. We see some nice interaction between Robin (Damian) and Nightwing, then we go old school with a story featuring Blockbuster. That story felt more like the original Nightwing series, which isn't a bad thing. Then we have a story featuring Spyral, but I haven't read Grayson so I think some of the impact of that one was lost on me. Still a good read as I was able to fill in most of the blanks.
Not quite as fun as book 1, but still enjoyable. The part of me that imprinted on the dynamic duo of Damian's bitter Robin and Dick's irrepressible Batman was thrilled to see them back together again for a bit, even if it also felt like an emotional retread.
Reason: WOW! While book one comes out with a bang, this book comes HOT off those heels! Without any spoilers, once Nightwing becomes the happiest fella on Earth, I too, felt that happiness. Consider that, his happiness was so palpable that I felt it through the pages! Truly superb writing, art, coloring, lettering, the whole nine yards. Easily the most cinematic of Nightwing comics, in my opinion. Nightwing and company proves yet again why is he is the most loveable, outgoing, and trusting of the DC universe.
The first arc with Robin is cool enough- they have to fight insane bad versions of themselves and it looks at their insecurities of who they are and who they want to be. But the second half with a new Blockbuster is a little Lackluster. Also, I'm just not a fan of Dick's new girlfriend and her friends. So that took away some enjoyment from me.
Why they would introduce Shawn as a love interest just to have her kidnapped and then break them up for no reason is beyond me... but this comic gave me my two favorite boys back and i appreciate that. 💗 Things were said and feelings (mine) were hurt but in a good way!!
Maybe this comic doesn’t deserve 5 stars but it’s my review and I'll do it in the name of my love for Damian.

I enjoyed seeing Damian and Dick interact again, and I especially appreciated the Spyral story, which felt like Seeley getting a chance to write the ending he wanted the Grayson series to have had. Pity though, that the heroics of the book don't feel very fresh.
Again, fairly goofy, but also pretty good. I liked the first volume contained in this better than the second one. The second seemed to be more of Nightwing's past friends/partners coming up, which is fine except I haven't read any of that so I didn't really care.
Really liked this one. Thought it was a lot better than the first deluxe ver, there are some really good moments with Damian in this one. Loved the Wally appearance too.
high 8/10 the ending of these books have not been good for shawn. i feel sooo bad mannnnnn. okay the first arc in this book “nightwing must die” was good. i love damian and dick and i cant believe i haven’t read morrisons batman yet. i need to. for the villains, professor pyg and his subjects were so fucking brutal man. everytime i see pyg im like how could batman or anyone allow him to do what he does like actually. its so brutal and horrible what he does to people constantly. what happened to dinesh is soooo sad man seely WHYYY WHYYY I CANT EVEN. next when we went into the desert it reminded me of that one grayson issue which i loved. when shawn talked to deathwing man i love shawn like actually shes great here. dr hurt is someone im not familiar with and im still confused on what he wanted. man i need to read morrison. what is he warning nightwing about? what was the visions for? it hasnt been explained yet but seely always manages to explain everything so hopefully. i love how seely stands by the idea that nightwing is never defined by tragedy, its great. this arc was so interesting and different than the rest of the book. rip dinesh and deathwing who helped at the end. and nightwing not a dad yet! the next arc was just a one shot with wally that leads into the next 2 arcs. idk much abt their friendship besides young justice show but it was really nice seeing them work together really fun comic. for the next arc blockbuster we learn abt a new blockbuster, hes smarter and his motivations are very interesting. it was cool seeing nightwing breeze by villains cuz he did his homework and then save everyone. crazy. blockbuster won tho and its not over yet so. this was the weakest arc but still good. it was sad to see what happened with shawn and dick. what dick said to her was kinda messed up he couldve worded it better. seeing tiger shark at the end was brutal like dang blockbuster and then man geez what an ending to the arc. seely u are messed up man. the last arc spyral is definitely my fav. i have a biased towards the grayson days obv. seeing him team up with helena again was great. we finally found out abt the weapons and the plot twist was crazy for me too. but then another plot twist. its minos!! i always wondered what happened to the last minos and finally seely. i loved seeing the hadrian girls return and minos. his death tho. WHY SEELY U HAD TO MAKE IT LIKE THAT. it was kind of sad he never chose any of this. it was crazy. in the background we saw shawn spiraling and i was kind of disappointed but then she learned from mouse and she was gonna make up with dick. but then that ending brooooo. SEEELY art was pretty consistently good i always love the colors
While it was fun seeing Damien again and their dynamic together, none of these capers or villains really held my interest, perhaps as they're not part of the "popular" Gotham gallery, and thus I barely know of them. Professor Pyg, on the other hand, I really don't need to see any more of, after having him on Gotham and being completely disgusted.... Think I might be done with this run, as the next books all seem to be a similar vein: can Nightwing deal with this villain from his past, or will Bludhaven pay the price??
