Talk about Unconditional Love!!!

Liam is out shopping and running errands when he smells his one true mate. And to top matters off, when he lays eyes on her, she's the girl that's been presumed dead for the past 8 years!

Maddie was a victim of a horrible crime. She was so defeated and shamed by what happened to her that she never returned home. She felt that she had died that night, and there was nothing left of the girl that had snuck out of the house to have a little fun.

Soooo, I didn't expect to love Liam as much as I did. Another great story. This one dealt with a difficult subject matter, and was difficult to read at times.

Great story

Julie Trettel is a new to me author. When I finished the first book in this series, I immediately bought the next two. This is the third book, and is just as good as the first two.

Better then the second one!!
Liam and Maddie's story is quite a beautiful one about over coming hard ships and facing inner turmoils.

Liam thinks his siblings are crazy for the way they act around there OTM, but when he catches his mates scent in a crowded restaurant he can't stop until his found her. The thing is, she looks just like the girl he used to love, who went missing 8 years previously.
When Madelyn was horrifically abused at a concert when she was 16, a part of her died. She couldn't face her family or friends and instead started life anew, where no one who she was. But when she catches sight of a man who brings back memories of her childhood she does everything she can to stay away.

I think this story was better written then the first two, and I thought the characters were brilliant.

A slight hiccup in the book was the descriptions of the one year old- I don't know of any 1 year olds that can speak clear words in understandable sentences like 'Tank you unkle leem' on their first birthday 😂

I’m done

The first book was pretty good. The second wasn’t bad. This one? I’m done. The use of something horrid as the trope, then the “oh but you were blessed with a baby as a result” plot point pushed any interest I had out of this galaxy. And it was getting a little weird with the “animal repopulation” stuff by page 58 or 60, too. I won’t be trying this author again.

SUMMARY

Zander, Kyle and Kelsey's son, is turning 1, and today is his party. Liam goes to town to shop, stops at a restaurant/bar to get a soda. A 7yo boy sits by him, points to his grandpa so Liam knows he's not alone. Liam buys Oscar a chocolate milk, they talk about gifts for 1yo boys. As Liam leaves, he feels his one true mate nearby, sees a woman who looks like Maddie, knows they're true mates. But Maddie disappeared 8 years ago. She's agitated, and the older woman with her calls her Jane. He loses her in the crowd, then sees her driving away with the boy.

Jane struggles with crowds, has since she was gang raped 8 years ago. They named her Jane Doe at the hospital, and she kept the name because Maddie and her wolf died that day. She couldn't go home because she'd be such an embarrassment to her family, especially because her dad's the alpha of the Collier pack. Annie is the one who pulled her out of depression enough to eat for her baby. Annie and Jacob have become parental figures. When Jane wakes because they've stopped at a restaurant, she knows Oscar isn't nearby and she scents wolves. Panic. When she sees Liam, her childhood crush, twin of her best friend, she feels a weird calm, which panics her. They drive away.

Liam asks the hostess about the grandpa, gets his name. Liam Googles Jacob, sees he's going to a conference in San Francisco. Liam calls Christine to RSVP for him to a charity dinner at the same place so he can follow without stalking.

EVALUATION

Maddie is a stronger heroine than Elise, as strong as Kelsey in her own way. Elise hides because she's afraid of losing Patrick in the challenges. Kelsey hides to protect everyone from her werewolf. Maggie hides because she thinks her pack will reject her because she was raped. Being around Liam reminds her of her identity, and she takes control back from her experience. I think this story could be healing for some readers, and might be seen as trite by others. I liked it.

Steph and Mark are cool, especially with their sacrifices! I love that Annie and Jacob took in Jane, and I'm glad they open their minds at the end. I'm curious how things will work out with shifters and guardians, and with the Bulgarians. I'm also hoping to see more types of shifters.

Ignore the proofreading, appreciate the story.

RECOMMENDATION

For those who like paranormal romance with an arc of brewing war

These books seem to be getting better and edgier...
It is Liam Westin's turn to find his True Mate in book 3 and he finds her in his childhood crush.
His Twin sister Lily's best friend who has been missing and presumed dead for 8 years.
Maddie ran from the horrific events that she went through, changing her identity and name to Jane..She was ashamed of what happened to her and didn't want to put shame on her family.
So she fled and had a son Oscar as a result of the the traumatic event.
By chance she runs into Liam again well her son Oscar meets him first and through that exchange he sees Maddie/Jane again and he realises she is his true mate.
The trouble is Maddie/Jane doesn't want to be found and denies the connection, she claims the assault she went through killed the wolf within her.
But seeing Liam again is awakening her wolf instincts and she doesn't know how to handle it...Plus Oscar is showing signs of his natural wolf and Alpha instincts, and he turns to Liam for help.
This was difficult to listen to at times because of what Maddie had gone through...But it is such an intriguing story that you can't stop listening or reading it.
But this book does take an unexpected turn that has Maddie/Jane going with Liam back to his home to meet the Westin pack, and Oscar can finally get to know what he really is.
Liam is so patient and loving towards both Maddie and Oscar he will do anything to protect them both..he is perfect for Maddie and her son.
This is Narrated by Carly Robins and Joe Hempel and they are wonderful telling this story with all the emotions needed for such a story with so much feeling.
I really do love listening to them.
Julie Trettel has taken a different approach with this book as it deals with difficult subject matter so it is a bit heavier than the first 2 books. But it is a really great story,I couldn't stop listening.
A very enjoyable fascinating book.
Loved it,and can't wait to listen to the next one.
5 Stars.

This is the third book in the Westin Pack Series. You do not have to read the first two but I highly recommend that you do, they are good stories and give you background on this book. Liam is a younger brother to the Alpha. He is young to be the CEO of the Westin Foundation at twenty-four years old. He had a secret crush on his twin sisters, Lily, best friend years ago. Tragically the friend, Madelyn Collier, went missing as a teenager eight years ago and is presumed dead.
While visiting a restaurant in town, he smells something wonderful and comes face to face with a woman that is his true mate.
Madelyn or Janie as she is known now, knows that it is a risk to come into the Westin Pack area where she might be recognized. She has hidden for the last eight years. She is carrying many secrets. Maddie/Janie has PTSD from a rape and beating then left for dead at sixteen years old. She has a reminder of that in a son, Oscar. Her adoptive parents Jacob and Anna are traveling through the area on the way to a conference. They have no idea that Maddie/Janie is a wolf shifter. Her wolf has been so suppressed due to trauma and medication.
This was a sweet and touching love story. Liam is patient and kind. Madelyn/Janie is fragile and has not come to terms with her assault and rape. They journey toward rediscovery and that they are true mates. Perhaps they can heal the budding relationship. But what if Maddie’s wolf is gone, can they bond anyway?
Then we find out about the Guardian society of Vendari? Who are these people and what do they want with Shifters? This adds a whole new dimension to the Westin Pack. We already have a Pack War with the Bulari’s.
So many wonderful characters, compelling story and so action packed it is a page turner. This is not a story to be missed. Now I am looking forward to the next book.

When I read this kind of book it is inevitable thinking to myself: Wow! You read a lot of crap!
And I do!
I mean I hear a lot of crap because audiobooks are limited and I usually listen to them on Youtube and well there aren't enough options.
The book itself is not badly written. The writing in itself is engaging enough, there are A LOT of repeated phrases and that's ok sometimes authors do that to ascertain a personality trait or way of speaking on their characters, but in here and in other books os the series the same pattern or types of phrases keep repeating, so it is to easy to see this is about an absence of vocabulary of the author.
The story sometimes reach ludicrous points and I had to laugh on the absurdity of it all.
Initially, I quite liked her take on "werewolves" of "wolf shifters", as they are called on the book. It enriched her world but then as the series progresses things get more and more messed up and forced and absurd and even for an avid reader of fantasy it got to be too much.
People often think that readers of fantasy books can accept anything, but we quite like when the author estabilishes rules of that world and follows them and don't keep creating absurd situations and thinking we should accept them because she wrote and it is her world.
I can't say I hated the book, I'm listening to book 4 for goodness sake! But I have to admit that I wouldn't download it to read it, that I don't feel a compulsion to know the story or the will to pick it up at night when is reading time. I only listen it when working on reports.
Still for that purpose, it is entertaining enough.

**NO MAJOR SPOILERS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS REVIEW**

I think I liked this better than the second, and I was not expecting to! I usually do not read books with mothers/children. (Don't judge, I just am not into that mentality), but this was actually really good. I do think it could of used a few trigger warnings for the few mature subjects and storyline that came up, but overall, it was a really powerful and poignant journey through self healing and addressing trauma.

I loved Liam. Like seriously, he might be better than Kyle, or even Patrick. Homeboi was willing to pick up his entire life and just be whether his mate was. I think that was so sweet, and to take care of her kid too? And not shame her for it? Like, what an amazing male. He never really got angry with her, he was so patience and gorgeous and understanding and protective...gods. I wish I had him as a mate.

I actually did like Maddy's story as well. I loved her slow healing and their slow burn. Her realization and coming to terms with wolf reality was really beautiful. But I also love how she always thought of her son and tried to do right by him. I love how she embraced her past and let it guide to her future.

I actually also iiked the kid! He helped to have some humor in the story! I didnt feel like he was an annoyance or iritate. I actually liked him and thought he added alot of spunk to the storyline.

Overall, I loved their passionate and emotional story and I am getting low key addicted to these people. Please help.

No Good Deeds go unpunished

I just have to say spoiler at the end when she accidentally let go to six tigers that raped her it hit me harder it made me feel so sad the story was very triggering because my trigger is brutal rape and she was gang rape, beaten and left for dead that was so dramatic just at the beginning of the book. I had to finish read that in one playthrough it was so dramatic I wasn't prepared normally I am prepared when I read dark romances but when I reading a light romance I didn't except those things. it's like what the hell was all that, I wish it was more happy which it was very happy but the circumstances broke me that I'm so thinking about it right now that I want to give it a one-star but the fact that the pack was so sweet and loving and kind I will give it a four stars but it was hard to listen I can't believe it's that hard my issue is that it happened to the main character and not a side character. The sad part is that she have a child because of the rape so if it never happens she would never have this beautiful boy so it's almost like horrible things it's a good thing it's something about Humanity that always messes my mind up like horrible things happen for you to be a better human being or things to be happening in the world and it's so hard in a sense of how she get pregnant but then again she atleast got something out of that horrible situation.

"Forever Mine" by Julie Trettel is a paranormal romance novel that delves into themes of lost love, hidden secrets, and the enduring power of connection.

* The book centers on Liam Westin, who has long harbored feelings for his twin sister's best friend, Madelyn. When Madelyn disappears and is presumed dead, Liam is devastated. Years later, Liam, now a successful CEO, encounters Madelyn, but she's changed and carries deep secrets.

* The story explores whether their love can overcome the obstacles and trauma that separate them.

* The book deals with themes of trauma, healing, and the resilience of the human spirit.

* It also explores the complexities of love and the challenges of reconciling past experiences with present realities.

* There is a emotional depth of the characters and the engaging storyline.

* "Forever Mine" offers a blend of romance, suspense, and paranormal elements.

*But I like this book, I don't like how she treated her family. I know she suffered a lot and was traumatized, but her family suffer a lot too, 8 years without knowing she was alive or dead.

Get ready for another PNR page-turner you won't want to put down! I don't know how this author manages to make each new book even better than the previous fantastic must read but she exceeds my expectations every time! That's why IMHO we need to be able to add a bonus star & if I could, I’d give 6 stars to "Forever Mine" too :D ... This 3rd novel is now my favorite in the Westin Pack world and has some great new characters, plus many returning ones :) These books don’t have to be read in order, but I’m glad I did... Always unique plots, plenty of suspense & some hot romance ;) Amazing attention to detail and witty dialogue will keep readers engaged! I highly recommend this to all adult fans of fiction, so make sure your e-readers are charged or plugged in ;) I volunteered to read this without any outside influences, so this is my honest opinion & I absolutely can't wait for more!! But I will of course ;)

Now that his older brother Kyle has become Pack Alpha, Liam Westin has to take over as CEO of the Westin Foundation. It’s not what he expected to do so soon, but he’s ready. Then a ghost from his past appears.

Kyle is really a nice guy and Oscar is adorable. They’re going make a wonderful family when Maddie gets over her fears.

Just a little too much backstory. I almost skipped a whole chapter of it.

Footnote: 1) Why does the girl on the cover look so emaciated? They need to feed their wolves better.

2) If the members of the Grand Council have given up their own packs where do they live? 2) I grew up in the Bay Area in California and know all the places that they visited so it was great to read about them since I could really see in my mind. The sea lions are especially wonderful.

Fave scenes: the private tour, the swimming pool, Oscar meeting the wolf and riding in the Corvette.

Love Will Keep Us Together....

The shame that comes with rape is present even among shifter, never think that family will shun you because of it. Talk to someone about it less it haunt you forever.

Madelyn Collier has stayed away from her pack for 8 years thinking she would be a burden and shame to them because of what she went through and the results of it., little does she know that they hold a vigil for her every year and still keep the faith that she is alive. When she is spotted by her childhood crush, she gores into a panic, how can he be her mate when she doesn't even have a spirit animal? What she doesn't know is that Liam Westin has loved her since childhood and will take her as she is. Son and all they are his.

Liam Westin can't believe his luck, he has found the only girl he has ever loved, now he just has to convince her she is meant to be with him no matter what....He was broken once when she disappeared, but he won't lose sight of her now.

Good

Again I loved with the storyline was different, that each character came from a different place. Maddie's story was a little harder because of her history, so may be sensitive to some people. But I love the interactions with Oscar. However this one to me was a lot less stand-alone, more of just a section in an overall story because there was a lot more going on in the background. So I look forward to the final story lines coming together. With the previous two books, I did struggle a little bit with pacing, the book would spend a lot of time on one detail and then fast forward pretty significantly through time. This book did that a lot and it bothered me much more that I felt like the author was rushing through certain scenes and certain ideas. However I will finish the series.

Another good page turner.

This instalment is about Liam and Maddie.
Liam Westin is out about in the town when he scents his One True mate and as he glimpses who it is he's in total shock as the girl he sees is supposedly Dead !
Maddie Collier went missing eight years ago and is presumed Dead. Liam not believing this to be true after he see's someone who looks like her but going by the name Janie sets about to finding her.
Janie/Maddie is very broken and living with humans who dont really know who or what she was. They take her in after she is found badly beaten and raped and left to die. Janie now a mother to 7yr old Oscar is living a life fearing that her wolf is dead and suffering depression and anxiety. Liam and Maddie have alot of hurdles to get over if they want any kind of future.

Good!

This, the third in the Westin pack novels, is good. Maddie is from another pack, the Colliers, and she made a very big mistake as a teenager. She was traumatised and ashamed so she never told anyone her name or what she had been through but decided that she could not face her family. It was better for them to think her
dead. Liam Westin saw her by chance one day and couldn’t believe that the girl he had known from the age of six was now grown up and his mate!
The great thing about this story is the way in which PTSD is recognised. Ordinary humans don’t have the connections that fictional wolf shifters do so their struggle is much harder. Too many veterans in particular suffer severely with PTSD and not enough is done for them. Hopefully governments with these veterans will act sooner rather than later.

I have read all 5 books in this series and I needed to wait before I could write this review. This book truly touched my heart and brought about such strong feelings for me. It is my favorite of the series because of the content and the truly accurate and brave way that the author told Madelyn Collier's story. I do not want to give any spoilers, so I will just say that this book told my story and the story of many others with a grace, strength and fearlessness that will stay with me forever. Madelyn may have had panic attacks, and suffered from PTSD, but make no mistake she is one of the strongest female characters I have ever come across. Bravo Julie Trettel for the courage to write such a beautiful story.

At 16, before her wolf appeared, Maddie was drugged, gang-raped and tossed away like garbage. Learning she’s pregnant, Maddie’s too ashamed to go home. Shopping for a baby present, Liam Westin meets precocious 7-year-old Oscar, he draws Liam’s attention Jane, his mom. Liam feels the mate pull and notices how much Jane looks like Maddie Collier.

Two steps closer to Jane and Liam knows exactly who she is and what she is to him. When Maddie fails to reject Liam’s mate claim, their bond grows. Also, information comes to the pair that rogue shifters could’ve been responsible for Maddie’s attack and that there’s a human group that watches shifters, some think it’s time go further with study and experimentation.

This is my favorite book in this series so far.

The good:
-Entertaining
-I enjoyed the twists/new information and interactions of beings.
-No victim shaming, highly accepting of traumatic pasts and children.
-I want to know what will become of the 6..
-What happened with the aunt!? I am so intrigued!

The not great:
- I am not sure there was enough mental health growth/coping outside of the mating bond. I know there were resources and professionals involved but nothing happened after disclosure within the pack.
-What happened with the aunt!? It's like she dropped off the face of the planet.
-So if she was a shifter why no fangs/ritual?

Good

Oh sweet Liam! I love these Westin boys! I certainly didn't like Maddie's trauma and story. I'm glad there were no specific details about it because the general information was more then enough. Outside of that part I enjoyed Liam, Maddie and Oscar. I'm really interested in Cole. I hope he gets a story! He's such a naughty boy but smart, strong and witty.
Also, the plot deepens with the human group kidnapping shifters and obviously we will run into those 6 tigers at some point. I need justice for full closure.
