Lord Dixon is known among the wilder members of the ton for two things, his very exclusive brothels specializing in the most exotic of pleasures and his habit of keeping a concubine, a well-paid, full-time prostitute, at his country home for a year at a time. But romance can still be found in his shadow.

Sam Nelson has been a spy on the Continent since he was sixteen.  Now that the war is over, his handlers are ready to cut him loose, but spying is all knows.  When one final mission comes up, Sam is ready to take it and prove he is still a valuable agent, even when the mission is merely infiltrating one of Lord Dixon’s notorious house parties to retrieve a letter being used to blackmail the son of an influential peer.

Lord Brisban knows he’s a bit of a joke.  It’s why goes to Dixon’s brothels, the only place he feels comfortable asking for the services of a man, and even there he won’t ask for what he really wants, a chance to use a paddle or a whip.  When young Mr. Nelson comes begging to be taken to one of Lord Dixon’s house parties, he knows any interest the attractive young man shows in him is only a way to get his help, but he agrees to arrange an invitation, even though he knows there’s something Mr. Nelson isn’t telling him.

When Sam is chosen as one of the concubines for the party, Brisban knows he’ll need help to carry out whatever task is his real reason for coming to the party.  Sam hadn’t counted on the extra complication of being chosen as part of the entertainment, but he’d carried out missions in brothels and molly houses before and succeeded, but he’s never been in a party quite like Dixon’s, and he’s never had someone he could trust until Lord Brisban inexplicably begins to help him.

A steamy gay - M/M romance novel set in the Regency period with some BDSM elements.  51,000 words/ approx. 200 pages

My favourite in the series

The stumbling Lord Brisban becomes the hero in this one, my favourite of the series. There's much more story to this one, with a daring escapade of spying, smuggling and blackmail to sort out.

Sam, our other MC, is a spy on the brink of no longer being relevant when he gets a final job sending him to Dixon's house party.

I loved how interacting with Sam helped Brisban find his peace at his sexual attraction to men. This was a nice tidy story with little dramady and some nice light BDSM.

The Beauty, the Beast find Love!

An intriguing historical story about Sam, a spy & Lord Brisban, a bit of a recluse. The story involves under cover ops, kinky sexual parties, murder, blackmail and finally, but the best...love! Well written MCs, good pacing, interesting premise. Very good series. I want more stories from this author.

Why 4 stars?

Quite a bit of BDSM at Lord Dixon's was a bit much for me to read. That meant about skimming over 1/2 of the story. That of course meant that most of the story was an exotic party for men. At Lord Dixon's manor.

I don't like Lord Dixon. There is a harshness to him and a subtle criminality that seems to ooze from the words on the page.

I honestly cannot say whether or not Sam and Braden were well established characters or not. In skipping those areas one does not wish to read you miss vital character development and backstory.

I do recommend this 3rd story in the trilogy to anyone interested in the story thus far, and to anyone with a stronger stomach than mine.

Of all the main characters in all 3 books, with some of them portrayed pretty prominently in all three, I must say Brisban in Revealed, book 3 is the most sensible, interesting and most lively character, thereby, IMHO, makes book 3 the best of the 3 books.

So at least this one was actually kinky, but... WHY is the series villain the kinkiest character of all? These should be kink-positive. And they're just not. It's like the author *wanted* to write kink, but... felt guilty?
