Most anthologies, or should I say collection of short stories, end up being a mixed bag for me. Some I love, some are okay, some I don’t care for.
So, when I picked up “The Autumn Encounters” I anticipated the end result to be much the same. With that said, the blurb had me super excited to dive into the world of, I quote, explicit escapades!
The stories vary in heat and kink level. A couple of them are a great gateway into BDSM, nothing hardcore. Although, that can be subjective.
I can say, without a doubt, 6 of the 7 stories captivated my kinky little heart. The one that didn’t was so completely different, I found it jarring and confusing.
I’m not going to name said story as we all know what doesn’t work for one works for another. Personally, Kate’s story “A landlady stumbles upon her lodger in a private moment and joins him” was my favourite.
Would I recommend this collection? If the blurb appeals to you, then that’s a hell yes!

For a first collection of erotic fiction, The Autumn Encounters: Behind The Shutters is wonderfully well-written. In fact, the Foreword alone is lovelier than many stories I have read, and it sets the tune beautifully for the what follows. Casey Cullen introduces herself, invites us in, and makes us feel comfortable.
The Builder is a sexy story that takes the classic fantasy of the lonely housewife and the hardworking contractor, but makes it sensual instead of sordid. It is a happy story of two people making a connection, giving in to their urges, and enjoying each other.
The Student and The Tutor are two halves of the same story, a sexy taboo-breaking tale of a woman who seduces her student lodger - who, it turns out, has been masturbating to her photos. It is sexy and playful, and smartly keeps the dialogue to a minimum.
The Voyeur is a daring story of outdoor sex, a voyeur, and a couple's experiment with deliberate exhibitionism. Ashley and Jake are such a fun couple to watch, and the way in which they give in to the fantasy is delightful.
The Delivery is my second-favorite story in the collection, a BDSM-themed adventure in which a young woman stumbles on a shocking scene while delivering flowers. It is hot, sensual, and deliciously explicit, with a gorgeous Dominant who puts two women through their paces.
The Pet has the most unorthodox storytelling technique in the collection, which is part of what makes it my favorite. It is another BDSM-themed story, but this time the reader is the submissive, blindfolded and bound, so the Master must explain to us every pleasure and every punishment. It is intense BDSM, bordering on cruelty at times, but . . . wow.
The Same Room, like the opening story, takes an erotic trope and does something sensual with it. It is more a prelude to swinging than an actual swinging story, but explores the coming together of two couples. Exhibitionism is a theme here as well, but the real strength of the story is in the characters.
Polished, imaginative, and full of heart, The Autumn Encounters: Behind The Shutters is a collection that promises delightful things to come.

I would describe this book as reading 7 short fantastic dirty reads. These are basically carnal fantasies played out before your own eyes. These stories don’t clench your heart or make you feel any emotion other than lust and seriously turned on! Which is exactly what I’m looking for from time to time!
These characters are all confident and are there for pleasure!
With each story was a synopsis letting you know the type of juicy story you are about to get into.
Naturally some of the short stories intrigued me more than others. I tried putting myself in the story.... some suited me while mainly one had me left thinking WTF? However everyone’s preferences and kinks are different and what works and doesn’t work for me may be opposite of you! And on the other hand a couple of stories had me clenching my thighs together and wishing I was home like no other! HOTT,HOTT,HOTT!!!!
This is a new author for me and I would definitely read another novel!

Fun fantasy. Although not my usual type of book, this collection of shorts offers a fun escape from the normal humdrum we all find ourselves in from time to time. These stories offer the ability to live out a fantasy without the negative judgement or possible harmful/hurtful repercussions.

This was a good collection of stories to read. There is a little bit for everyone who enjoys reading fantasy, or BDSM stories then this collection of books is for you. All of the stories in this collection were fun and enjoyable gives you a fun little to explore different types of scenes and elements.

I must say a very exciting read, even more so as I was reading on my office desk top at lunch. Casey puts you there as a voyeur watching the scene and wising you were a participant. I know I had a growing feeling while I was reading and imaging myself their!

Great collection of steamy stories. Well written and easy to stay involved. Each story a little different from the others. Definitely a good and entertaining read. I recommend this collection.

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this collection of stories. They are hot and sexy without being smutty. The author has a smart and entertaining writing style. And even though these are shorts, the characters and scenes are well developed and very intriguing. Aside from The Pet, which is quite different from the others, these stories feel like real people taking naughty risks and doing things they normally wouldn't. You feel their excitement, anticipation and discomfort right along with them.
My favorites are The Builder and The Same Room. I love stories about people pushing their comfort zones and these were so well written. This book delivers believable characters and stories. I would love to read more about the couples from The Same Room. I was so bummed when that one ended. My least favorite, although still good, was The Tutor. It just didn't grab me like the others did.
The Pet has a very unique approach- a one sided conversation where a Master is addressing his pet. Really different and cool. This is probably the one that will make people the most uncomfortable, if they're not familiar with this particular kink.
This is a great, well written and entertaining debut work by this author and I'm looking forward to future reads.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from Casey Cullen. I believe this is Casey’s first book and I was impressed by her talent and imagination. This is a collection of 7 spicy hot short stories that will leave you squeezing your thighs together. It contains a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone’s different desires. There’s no judgment, just fantasies being explored by consenting adults who aren’t afraid of their sexuality.

Is it weird that I really liked the foreword?
I got this book because I started to read Further (same author), but I wanted first to read the short story "intro" The Same Room. Now while this was a very good story, it wasn't my favorite.
That would go to the story directly before it: The Pet
The writing style of that particular BDSM story was different that most stories I have read. Sure the plot and the writing were very good, but I loved the way it was told. The story was basically a monologue told by the Dom to his sub. It was very immersive.
ex: "Enjoy the sense of sight while you still can my pet,..."

A suprisingly delicious hot compilation of steamy short stories.
At first I thought these were going to be a little tame, maybe a little too short, but no, I was very very wrong ... I felt the connection and the heat within each short story - the writing was superb. All I can say is be prepared, lock yourself in a quiet room with 'bob' and enjoy this great book. Each story gets that little bit more risque and ups the ante, leaving you gagging for more.
I almost want a sequel, a continuation of each of their shenanigans!

This book was given to me free in exchange for an honest review
Overall, this book reminded me very much of Nancy Friday and her books about sexual fantasties. They are different from normal stories in that they purposefully leave out descriptions of characters so you can fill these in yourself. They avoid focusing on practicalities as these are not part of the immediacy of fantasy. You have to get yourself into the mindset. With this in mind they were pretty successful. Just long enough but not too drawn out. Most seemed to take about 10-15 minutes to read.
The stories come with a well-written introduction which explains how they should be read. It was a nice touch.
There’s quite a mix of stories, some of which were my kind of thing and some which weren’t but the range is varied so there’s probably something for everyone.
The Builder
This was a classic builder fantasy. It was pretty hot. I cringed a bit when she offered herself to him. Call me old fashioned but I wanted him to approach her but it all ended well.
The Student
A student lodger is caught being naughty by the lady he is renting a room from. This isn’t really my thing. I couldn’t quite get with the implied age gap. It’s just not my taste.
The Voyeur
This was one of my favourites. I thought it was pretty hot. Two people on a woodland walk get in on whilst a good-looking farmer watches with plenty of dirty talk. Perfect.
The Delivery
Flower delivery girl interrupts BDSM couple and turns out to be the wife’s ‘gift’ to her husband. I am not into humiliation or jealousy so this wasn’t really pushing my buttons but I can see it’s pretty hot if you like all that.
The Tutor
We return to Kate and Georgiou from The Student. I enjoyed this story. It was hot. I tried to overlook the age gap this time. I am not that into virgins but I liked how nice they were together.
The Pet
Told in the first person this is a BDSM slave fantasy. I am not really into the whole treating people like obedient animals thing. Patting me on the head is a definite lady boner killer. Also the politeness of calling her ‘my dear’ is not my thing. Makes me think of an old man. Crawling on your hands and knees up a gravel path just doesn’t push my buttons so overall this was a miss for me, but probably right up someone’s alley.
The Same Room
This was a pretty hot read about two couples in the same room. This was my other favourite story. Seems I keep ticking the exhibitionist stories here, who knew!
There you have it. In closing these were well written ultra short erotic stories which I enjoyed. Some of the description was a bit flowery for me. ‘Watching her petals bloom open’. I felt like she was a marigold.
I was also a bit disconcerted that this was an English book. I am so used to reading American novels. So the language ‘knickers, cordial, sod’ all threw me a bit.
In general most of the stories started a bit slowly for me. A lot of scene setting. Once I’d compared the stories to the short fantasies in Nancy Friday’s Women on Top I just wanted to dive straight in to the action!

Wow!!! I really really enjoyed this book. The series of short stories were amazingly entertaining and enjoyable. I loved how each story was so different from one another. They were very detailed and very well put together. I admit one of the stories kinda dragged out. I felt like it was more of an intro to a story then an actual short story it's self. But I think that's only because It had alot of build up only to end immediately after the encounter (so it really left you hanging) and it also had very little dialog between characters. But other then that the rest of the stories were GREAT.!!! The book only gets better and better as you keep reading. I was very intrigued and didn't want any of the other stories to end. This book is very erotic in a tasteful kind of way. I felt it had just enough intimacy to play out each fantasy which made it all the more hot and intense. I MOST DEFINITELY can't wait for the next one and I hope it continues with the stories started in this book!! (Fingers crossed for a sequel) I would Say it's a MUST READ.! I rate this a 4.5 ☆'s! Casey Cullen you did an amazing job, I'm certainly a fan!!!!

Too descriptive but ok
This is a collection of short erotic, each story features different couples (1 couple is in 2 stories). They go from tame, to bdsm to group, etc. I found there was too much describing of the setting and not enough of the actual encounters and some of the stories felt unfinished rather than open ended, which I don't think was the author's intention. There was one very odd story where the male character described the entire thing, no dialogue, nothing other than he narrating it all from what was happening, what he was doing, the environment around them, to what she could possibly be feeling. I really disliked that as it sounded too forced, even if the scene was good.
Over all it is ok with ku, but not great.

I enjoyed this collection of short stories. Autumn Encounters has a little bit of everything for everyone. If you’re not sure if you would like fantasy, role playing, or even BDSM, I suggest you give Autumn Encounters a try.
Each of these stories are long enough to grab your attention with the attention to detail I crave and short enough for you to get through even if it’s not a normal read for you.
However, if you enjoy naughty bedtime stories to get you ready for bed, this collection is erotic enough to get you in the mood. Be sure to grab this book and keep in close to you on your nightstand.

Autumn Encounters by Casey Cullen are steamy little pieces that will certainly keep you intrigued.

I have to say my personal favourite is the piece titled 'The Tutor'. It was different - it showed the author's talent as a writer, and I was addicted.
This book is heavy on the steam, but it does not disappoint! This book kept me wanting more of each and every couple's story, and I hope I do in the future... I seriously cannot wait for more from this author.

Autumn Encounters is a book that contains several short erotic stories. Each story is unique and has its own edge. They are sure to get you hot under the collar.
I enjoyed these stories. The only reason this book received 4 out of 5 stars is because the stories seemed to have a slow start or they drug on with excess filler, perhaps to make the story longer.
Overall, however, Autumn Encounters is a delightful read with quite a bit of hot sex.

WOW! *fans self*
This book is a completion of 7 short stories. I will say I was not in love with all of them but that’s just my personal taste. The writing is so descriptive it’s as if you are watching the scenes take place. If you are a fan of erotic fantasy then this is a great book for you.

I loved these stories so much, it was like I was watching the scene as I was reading the book.
My favourite was definitely The Builder. The housewife and the contractor sounds like it would be a very cheap story but it definitely wasn't.
I love the sweet romance of a happily ever after as much as anyone but I also enjoy reading erotica and Casey Cullen did not disappoint.
My first reads by this author but definitely not the last.
Cannot wait for more!!

Seven HOT short stories. These stories are perfect if you don’t have a lot of time to read a novel...you want something short, entertaining and sexy. What a great way to enjoy your week with a daily story!

So this is collection of seven short stories.
Seven very dirty, racy and steamy stories.
Each separate subject and different characters.
And I liked them all. Some I loved more, some made me blush and some made me grin but all made me hmmmmm what is it hot in here or what?!

I want to be honest so believe me when I say it is like a gift ...like one of those bags of candy... You stick your hand in it and pull some candy, you do not know which one you will get, but you will like it anyway...
So if I would have to describe it in one word it would be
YUMMY...
btw; I loved the writing in this book as is this new author for me I would not mind read more or read more elaborate story with some of this characters ( The builder and The tutor were my favorites)
As I know some of my goodreads friends like smutty, sexy read and are not afraid to show it..well ladies let me just say pick this book and be naughty for a while.. I know you love it..
