Amber Colton is taking a slight vacation at her family's house. Tripp Calhoun came for a meeting with Joe Colton. Inez set them up to meet.
Amber goes to Tripp's workplace to return a watch. She overhears that he needs to take someone who will impress the board of a prestigious hospital, so she offers. ..... but he declines, then accepts. While in the interview process, which includes going to a wedding, they fall in love with each other. Tripp pushes Amber away because he believes he must protect her and knows he is unable to, but she refuses to leave his life entirely. Eventually, they get together - after Tripp comes to terms with the fact that she does not need protecting.
Rand and Emily visit Louise Smith. She regains memories of them, but she continues to get debilitating headaches. They leave, with Meredith/Louise knowing that her memory will return at its own pace, and awaiting her decision to return to their lives on her own terms.
Patsy continues her search for Emily and Jewel, pressured by Joe's decision to cut her off from funds, she continues her blackmail of Graham.
