The First Hit

Rate this book
When Vincent Synkka, the heir to a family from old money, marries Nicole's sister, Nicole knew her life was going to change, even if she didn't like the man. Is she happy that he's giving her sister the best years of her life? Of course. Is she happy that because of him, their family isn't bankrupted by Dianne's terminal illness? Of course. Is she happy that because of him and his money she might actually be able to get into Berkeley, the school of her dreams, even after Dianne's gone? Of course. This would all be irrelevant, however, if Nicole knew the truth about Vincent: that he's no longer in love with Dianne, but has rather set his sights on her younger sister, and believes that fate has led him to her. If Nicole knew what he was planning for her after her sister died - well, she'd be running for the hills. Vincent's playing a dangerous game, and someone - most likely Nicole - is going to get hurt. But she doesn't know, can't know. And that's put her in a very unfortunate position indeed.
