Osha was born and raised in Jamaica. He traded in his billionaire lifestsyle on the island for a roach infested apartment in Memphis, when he decided to take his father’s life as an adolescence. He made his way from the trenches to the top when he decided to do Riot and Young Kae. He is holding a secret from his new business partners though. Will they forgive him? Or will they look at him as a snake and go to war with him? A buried past decides to rise and destroy Osha’s new perfect life. The thing is, because of the secret, the past will not only hurt Osha, but Young Kae and Riot as well. Kamaria is a spoiled little princess. Her brother Young Kae puts her on the highest pedestal. She is pursuing a nursing degree and her brother takes pride in knowing he raised her up right being that there mother is serving a ten-year sentence in the FEDS due to multiple drug charges. Kammy doesn’t have mommy issues but the life that her brother so desperately wants to stay away from, she ends up getting wrapped up in. Good girls love bad boys, but will loving a bad boy cost Kammy her life?

Highly entertaining
This book was very good. Well written, plot off the chain!! The author definitely got the assignment. I know this isn’t the end for Riot, he’s coming back better than ever. Dona went from shy and quiet to straight beast mode. Part 2 here I come!

This a whole mess
Whew….. it’s so much going on. Okay let’s start with Young Kae, he is so damn childish and selfish it don’t make no sense. Hey should’ve just left Kaydence alone because he knew he wasn’t gone so her right and now she pregnant with triplets at that and he about to leave her. Riot was a mess but when he met Dona it was love at first sight and he’s been doing her right ever sense. Dona was out the way just working and minding her business and Riot came in and turned her world upside down but you can’t be a gangsta and a dummy at the same time. She let that girl get in her head without even asking questions just like a dummy would do and it’s gone blow up in her face smh. Osha was a stand up dude and sis what he had to do to protect his momma and just so happens to fall in love with Kamaria. I love how hard he went for her but sad that his uncles did what they did. Jam my is young and just loved how being a Kingpin’s wife looked but not what it really takes to be that. She folding so quick it wasn’t even funny. What she went through was extremely painful and she should’ve told Osha what she went through to start the healing process but being young and naive, I believe she just lost her true love. Now let’s see what happens next

Drama, drama and more drama.
Well !! Where I start.. Riot might be my favorite character because he is so blunt.. There is no gray area..Straight black or white..
Dona was the typical female which was naive but she was a virgin..She easily gave it up to Riot and now she turned into a lil gangsta within a week..
Osha is a thorough male character and he is big on loyalty.. He is not flipping and flopping on the loyalty card which I love. Now that brings me to Kamaria.. She literally stalked this man but she could not tell him but told her classmate.. That don't make no sense at all..
Kae is with the sh!t and I love it but he is about to break Kay's heart. Kae knew he did not want to settle down but she missing with Kaydence . It is like Kae had epiphany that he was not ready to settle down but he want to have Kae still..That might not work..
Overall the book was interesting.

Riot is a real one. The beast and King of the City will return. Dona went from good girl to Gangsta’ real quick. Why did she over react? Young Kae’s hilarious, fine self needs to grow up. Kay needs to boss up after dropping the triplets, and Kamaria is in pain. Osha gave up too quickly for someone he’s supposed to be madly in love with. Kamaria paid a price for her love. Heads are about to roll. There’s sex in this book but it’s secondary to the action.

This is my first read by this author and I am hooked. Yayo: The Beginning tells the story of Riot and Dona and their group of friends as they run the streets of Memphis, TN. These characters will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Riot is that dude and will quickly become book bae. I loved every character in this book and can't wait to see what happens in the next book. Overall good read from a hometown author.

Wow never a dull moment 😳
Riot knew Dona was the one at first sight. She was a new face who wasn't impressed with him. Kaydence and Kae belong together 😂 they are touched. Everybody is going to regret jumping to conclusions without communicating what they're feeling or thinking. Ready for part 2.

Okay.
This story was all over the place. This was my first time reading a book by this author. Im just shocked that nobody talks to each other everybody just making assumptions and running with it. The character development was poor so it made it hard for me to really connect with the characters. Im torn between reading the other 2 parts or just leaving it where its at

It was hard to finish the book because it has what I call Tubi Movie-itis where a book introduces characters the way they break the 4th wall in a movie. That's not a stellar writing technique to us and it's unnecessary in a book. It give's "bad writing" and I didn't have the energy to move past 4% because of that. The premise sounded interesting but the execution was lacking.

Baby, I’ve been itching to start Lisa’s catalog from the beginning since reading Pregnant by a Don and Put it on the Mob. This batch of crazies did not disappoint either. I loved the women and how they all blend together so well, balancing each other out.
Riot and Osha, swoons. Young Kae needs to keep that pink pole in his pants.
For this to be Lisa Austin’s first book, it was absolutely amazing.
I looked forward to all the opps being handled, because it’s chess not checkers ,baby!

Yayo really took me for a loop. This story will have you scratching your head while you try to figure out who dun it. Riot is really that “guy” and he has no cares in the world because what he wants, he will get.
