Each aspect of the movement and dial of a clock is considered as well as the instructions needed to actually carry out the work. It also describes deadbeat escapement and how to set about painting or engraving a clock. The author is a well known clock maker and restorer, who writes a regular column, "Penman's Pages" for "Clocks" magazines.
