Quay Thompson #1

Deception and Redemption

Rate this book
Minnesota’s beautiful North Country provides the backdrop for Deception and Redemption’s riveting, fast-paced tale of kidnapping, murder and espionage leading to an action-packed conclusion in Minnesota's North Woods. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Detective Quay Thompson had decided to take a brief get away, to relax, and fish up in Minnesota’s North Country, when his brother, a Sheriff in Northern Minnesota, calls him to help with the murder case of a young girl. Her body had just been discovered near the North Shore. Quay decides the BCA should take the case when he finds there is a link to SPARTA, the Strategic Populace Against Research Technology in America, known to appear at rallies against genome research at the local Cameron Biotech Labs in the Twin Cities. Still reeling from the grief over his wife's murder, Thompson remembered that SPARTA protesters had been present when a sniper shot his wife at a press conference in front of the Cameron labs the previous year. Quay brings in his partner Samantha Atwood to start a new investigation of SPARTA and the young girl's murder. Tenaciously following the complex case, Thompson uncovers startling additional SPARTA activities connected to the theft of the life-changing and futuristic stem cell and genome research data at the Cameron BioTech labs, and links to possible international espionage.
