Title: The Choice Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Lucy Penn Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #PRN #Lycan #Vampire 🛑#3.5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• Woooo this was a very fast read. Plus I don't know if there is another book after this, it doesn't look that way. It was good but to short. A lot of things weren't answered which could lead to another book. Julissa aka: Jule and her sister Anya were running for the last two weeks, hoping to escape there abusive stepfather Earle. They end up in Wolfsbane, Montana, a small town where everyone was leary of everyone else. Getting a job right away was mind boggling especially the great pay. Rand is a Lycan Pack Leader in Wolfbane, Montana he had a peace agreement with the Vampire Tribe. Which may come to an end after the attack on three cubs. Things came into motion when he met Julissa. Kyran is a Vampire the Lord of his Tribe in Wolfbane. He knew that she was here and his tribe will be safe for hundreds of years they'd be protected. Because of this he need to take action especially when his mate, Lucine challenges him for not going to war, then she said, You believe it's my duty to bear you a litter of soldiers to fight your battles? Because I suggest you replace me I am through birthing your spawn, so he did. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
The Choice Julissa is on the run from her step-father, who wants her and her sister dead for their inheritance. They find themselves in a small town in Montana where they can hide among the eccentric residents. Julissa doesn’t know why she is immediately drawn to Kyran, but takes a job as his housekeeper. Kyran has secrets of his own and he desperately wants Julissa for his own. In the midst of this small town is also Rand, who is working diligently to make his pack strong against Kyran and his vampire tribe. Julissa finds herself attracted to both of them, but knows only one will keep her safe and loved and has to make an ultimate choice to be with him. Ok, so the good; I found it to be an interesting story and written to grab the readers interest from the beginning. Which is good since it’s a relatively short story. I found the characters to be interesting and believable. The biggest drawback is that the storyline left me with a ton of questions, that I think were the result of an incomplete storyline. It might have been fixed with a longer story that had more opportunities to give a backstory, but I felt the unanswered plot took away from the overall story. I rate this book 4 hearts. ***Reviewer for Romance Authors that Rock ***
The Choiceis is about Julissa, Rand and Kyran. Julissa and her sister are running away and trying to find a safe place. Kyran is a vampire trying to find a way to make his coven strong again. Rand is the head of a werewolf pack trying to rebuild after the last war between vampires and werewolves. Will there be a war or is Julissa be the key for one side or the other to win? Both Rand and Kyran are drawn to Julissa, but who will win her?
This book is really good. The character development is good and the story flows along very fast. If you like stories about werewolves and vampires then I would recommend this book to you. The only problem was this was a short story and over far too soon. This book is for mature readers with adult situations.
This was a short read; both a shifter and vampire book.
Sisters, Julissa and Anya, are on the run from their abusive stepfather. The girls were supposed to collect their mom's whole life insurance policy, she made sure her abusive husband got nothing. Now he wants the money and the girls dead. He's tried to kill them twice already and both times he failed. So they ran from Boston and ended up in Wolfsbane, Montana.
The wolves and the vampires have a truce of sorts. The wolves have stronger numbers, so the vampires would be fools to start a war. The vampire Lord puts a spell on her, trapping her so he can make her his mate and start an army. The Alpha wolf only wants to save her from that life.
Lucy Penn has created a storyline which involves werewolves and vampires. Julissa must make the physical choice between Kyran (a vampire) and Rand (a lupine). She meets them when her and her sister Anya are on the run from their step-father who is trying to kill them so he can collect their mother's life insurance money. This short story allows you to be a part of that harrowing decision and the outcome.
It was a nice story and a very quick read. I am just sad that the story wasn't longer, because I feel there could have been so much more explored. For example how will it continue between Rad and Kyan, and will there be a war.
Next to that I would love to know what the story is with Julissa. I hope this book will get a sequel or is expanded, because I feel 'left haning' with this book.
i really enjoyed this short story like most short stories I enjoy I wish this one wasn't a short story I so didn't want it to come to an end so quickly. It to me has so much promise in it to keep on going, but was such a great read
Disappointed....this is just the opening for a serial. I like Rand as the alpha wolf. And Kyran as the alpha vampire. Looks like a war is going to come between them. Now just running from their own issues are Julissa and her sister, Anya. And they happen to stop running in Wolfsbane.
Promising story, but it seemed like there were missing details. With that it would have been a good story No it went from here to there and to me it felt like there were missing steps in between
