My daughter was fond of this book. I love the illustrations, especially the page where the skunk sprays the cat. I don't like some of the rhymes. For example: "Eight hungry hares pick the biggest mums. "Hey," I say. "Go away. Those are Mom's!"

I would actually say 2.5 stars, because the skunk is adorable. The illustrations saved this book for me. Classic winter counting story with timeless illustrations.
