Harry S. Truman was an extremely interesting man and was an excellent president. That said, this book was an extremely easy read, and seemed to be written to a high school reader. I am glad I read it as it was a good reminder to me of the years in which I was born, 1944. This book served to remind me of the times of the early half of the 20th century. I would now like to read a more sophisticated book about Harry Truman than then this book.

Fleming's biography is not rich in details. A short book, easily read in 1-2 days and it just "skims" over the events in Truman's life and presidency.
My critique of a couple of other recently read biographies is that they seemed to be written for 8th graders, this book - 5th graders.
