This Ed Hayes collection of his short and sweet essays is incredible. In every piece, Hayes takes the reader through a memory in his life and uses that memory to respond to a current issue or experience. But the wonder of Hayes isn't his ability to recollect. It is his talent of changing course at the very last moment, surprising the reader with tiny wisdoms and leaving him/her with a new appreciation for small moments and a classier time in American history.
