A witch, a weredog and a wizard walk into a bar ... When three unlikely friends kill themselves in a popular weredog bar, Wanda Wayfair is convinced that there’s more to the story. With the coven’s work now in the hands of the Minister’s Peacemakers, an investigation would be ill-advised. But since when do witches listen to advice? All of the deaths have something in common – every one of the deceased worked in Plimpton’s Brooms. With the Everest Climb – the biggest broom race in the witching world –about to take place, Wanda hopes to find the answers there. Especially since Everest is also the place where an annoying young witch was last seen in public. Wanda needs to solve the murders, track down Candace Plimpton and return her to her cute-as-a-button kitten ... And while she’s at it, she might finally find out what her broom has to do with it all.
A.A. Albright lives in the Irish countryside with her husband.
She loves reading in every genre, but writing cozy mysteries is just about the most fun she's had in a decade.

From start to finish I felt like I couldn’t put this down. I had to keep reading to find out what was going on. Every single reveal left me with my eyes bugging out of my head. My heart was beating so fast during the climax that I couldn’t breathe deep enough to try to calm down. It was intense.
This one ended a bit differently from the previous novels because there was no familiar introduced at the end, but there’s mention of what I assume will become the big mystery in the upcoming book.
Why won't Wanda shut up about Will? Straight women are so fucking weird. I swear it's like that old vine where the guy was like: whatzzup bitch? and the girl was swooning.
(I think a better question would be: why do I keep reading when the compulsory and unnecessary heteromance is constantly shoved down my throat?)
Ok I’m tossing these back like M&Ms - sweet, fun, cute mysteries. Loving the characters and their magical world. If you want to escape this world for a bit. I’d suggest this series ;>)
There’s something compelling about the simplicity of a cozy mystery that has really drawn me in. I love following Wanda on her adventures. Her tenacity to solve the murder mystery, while also supporting those around her just works together beautifully.
I don’t know how I’m supposed to ship Wanda with though! I have somehow caught myself up in a love triangle, that when reading, doesn’t even read as one. BUT I KNOW IT IS. I’ve convinced myself it is at least, because I know where I’m still leaning. It’s at least not annoying me, so yay for a love triangle [maybe] that’s working for me.
I appreciate that this mystery did actually shake up location and story line. Got to take care of a few malicious witches, solve some family troubles, and a whole lot more. There’s plenty packed in to a small amount of pages and I love it. On to the next!
Overall audience notes: - Paranormal cozy mystery - Language: none - Romance: kisses - Violence: murder (believed to be a suicide, but is found out to be a murder)
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
A hurried ending but another great read in the series.
Another great book in the series. Okay the ending was a bit of an anticlimax but all in all a great read. The plot was fast paced and run smoothly until the end where it could have been fleshed out a bit more. The Government is taking over. Why do people want her looking into the "glitch". Can they curb what is happening? The characters are as good as ever with great interaction between them. Just wish more time had been spent on the ending.
Things are going bad for Wanda and for the town. Justine Plimpton has basically set her self up as a dictator with her Peacekeepers are little more than Gestapo wanna-bees. There's an abandoned kitten familiar, something called a 'glitch,' Finn gets fired, there's a meeting with Gabriel's father and someone has made androids.
There's also a major problem with some supernatural beings having little or no legal rights at all.
There's a lot going on in this novel and by the end of it you will probably be thinking of different ways that the Justine character can be dealt with.
Wanda and the other Wayfairs have plenty on their plate with four deaths and a double agent (or two?) to deal with. The writing is entertaining and the surprise twist and potential HEA is very satisfying; however, I'm beginning to be fascinated by the idea that this talented author is playing a well-imagined long game with this series! Although I generally only enjoy mysteries that allow the reader to participate in the solving, this is a first-rate paranormal cozy read!
I finished up book 4. It didn’t disappoint! So far, this series has been unusually different for this type genre. Usually the town is small, murders happen more often when the main character gets her power or learns she is a witch. With this series, the world is so large and diverse the many murders actually “work” well into the storyline. What I’m trying to say is- this series is seamless, well written and always has surprises, twists and turns. I’m looking forward to continuing this series!
Wanda Wayfair – Winging It (Book 4) Even in the fourth book, the series remains exciting and manages to surprise you time and time again. The story unfolds a bit more quietly in places, but it never completely loses its appeal. I especially enjoyed the ending. I had a suspicion more than once about how things might turn out, only to dismiss it again shortly after. That back-and-forth made the conclusion all the more satisfying when it still managed to surprise me. Overall, a solid installment that definitely makes me curious to see what happens next.
Sorry not happy about Will, We all know Will is Wonda's soulmate even her drugged parent saw it. I hope that the author does not keep insisting on Gabriel as her mate there is false security there. The rest of this syoru line is exciting and finally enjoyable in the in because I was really getting frustrated. Hope the next books have the ending we want to happen to our hero's and heroines.
I loved it. I bought the first three books in the series together for a special price. They were wonderful. I am thoroughly enjoying the characters and the world that A. A. Albright has created. I can usually see the major twists in the story, but there are many intricate twists. The stories have been so much fun that I haven't even read ahead. I just wanted to enjoy them. I think I will buy the next two books. How's that for confidence in the series.
Grammar (dis)agreements are getting on my nerves. Especially subject/object errors. I don't THINK they are standard anywhere in the English speaking world. They are frequent enough that they MUST be intentional. I don't get it....... I find the vegan diet adoption interesting...but don't understand it either. Nevertheless I keep wanting to know what happens next, so to speak. This is a really good one.
I think this series is so much fun to read. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. Wanda is getting better and better at solving these mysteries. There is something peculiar going on though and I can't wait for tomorrow afternoon to meet up with her again and find out.
Now that Wanda has come into her power, she's decided she should ride a witch's broom instead of a wizard's one, especially since her dad used to make them.Great plot and character development. Very well written.
Extremely difficult to put down once you get hooked into the story. It's fun solving the mysteries alongside Wanda and her friends. I'm so glad that the good triumph over evil.
Just, WOW! The minister will stop at nothing to get what she wants. NOTHING! She’s batty! Wait until you read about what she did this time. You won’t believe how depraved she is!
This forth book in this series is just great. I have had a hard time in putting it down and I know that when you start reading then you will know what I mean.
Great job, good character development, great consistency in series, suspenseful, captivating read, cannot wait to read next in the series.loving the characters!
