I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

‘Shadow game’ is the third book of writer Kay Maree and is a standalone. It’s not a part of the ‘Mine’ series.

I read and enjoyed her first two books very much so when I was giving the opportunity to read an ARC of her newest book ‘Shadow game’, I took the chance to read it although I wasn’t totally sure if it would be a story for me. But after reading it, I’m so glad that I did take the chance because I read the book out in one day! The plan was to read a few chapters and then to do some chores but at the end of the day, I forgot all about the chores and just continue reading the book! I totally loved it.

Leia James isn’t very lucky in the men department. So after another disappointment, Leia is convinced by her gay friend Georgie to go out and sing the hurt out. The last thing that Leia expects on her night out is to meet a hot and mysterious man in the karaoke bar. Someone who makes her feel all sort of things just by looking at her!

Police Detective Deacon Black and his partner Jim are looking for a serial killer and they suspect that he’s on the hunt for a new victim, so when they suspect that they could find him in a karaoke bar, they go looking for him there. The last thing that Deacon expected was to be enthralled by a curvy woman, someone who’s body and voice does strange things to his body and mind.

Later that evening when some man is bothering her, the hot green-eyed man comes to her rescue and Leia discovers that he’s a police man. When Leia and Deacon meet the next day, they both find it very hard to hide their feelings for each other but Deacon tries because he is there to do his job and his job is to make sure that Leia is safe. Because Deacon and his partner have a big suspicion that Leia could be the next victim of the serial killer.

Unfortunately, they are right, the serial killer wants Leia. And they don’t call him the ‘Shadow killer’ for nothing. The clock is ticking, can Deacon find the serial killer on time or will he lose Leia before they even had a chance to build a future together?

I didn’t really know what to expect from this book but after reading it, I can say that it’s now my favourite book of Kay Maree. In some small way this story reminded me a bit of Kristen Ashley her books and being a big fan of her, that made me very happy.

So what must you know about this book? First, this story is about a hot, alpha man and a sassy, curvy woman, second if you don’t love insta-love romance then don’t read this book. Third, be prepare for some hot, hot sex scenes (even one with handcuffs!!!). And fourth, although this books has a serial killer in it, for me, it was a romance story with a bit suspense in it not the other way around (something that I really loved).

So if you like all that….. what are you waiting for….. READ this book!

Wow! This book was an amazing read. This is the 3rd book of Kay Maree and it's a standalone separate from her Mine series.

This book had me with these 3 things.
Elvis Presley!
1969 Ford Mustang!
Betty Boop!

Well, this book starts with Leia getting dumped by her boyfriend. Stating that it was totally her not him. She brushed it off and start dancing to Elvis Presley. To get over her break up she goes karaoke singing with her friends
In walks Deacon, a sexy detective investigating a date rape case. Staking out the bar, he see a attractive young woman walking up the stage. Dressed in a black skirt and top with red belt and heels with her black hair he thinks he sees Betty Boop. Attraction from the start, has him saying "mine'.
Mixing together the suspense and chills from the Shadow Killer, you have one hell of a read.
The attraction between Leia and Deacon is amazing. He's all alpha male, dominant and possessive of his girl. That's his women and no one looks at her kinda attitude.
This book has everything, it's funny as hell, the sex scenes are steamy, plot twist that will have your head spinning. Kay Maree is one hell of a writer. It's like she took everything I love and wrote it in this book. I know she has more coming and I can't wait.

I received an advanced copy to read and review this book voluntary.

Leia is a down to earth girl with a sissy attitude. their eyes meet an its love at first sight. the meet the next day and than the serial killer is after her. when he does his best to keep her safe things happen and when the killer is revealed its mind blowing. Holy cow, this book was freaking awesome. It starts out with Leia getting dumped by her boyfriend. So her best friend Georgie talks her into going to the karaoke bar and letting loose. She having fun with her friend when some jerk tries touching her butt and she slaps him. Then a sexy detective named Deacon ends up arresting the jerk. The next day the detective has to go see Leia because the guy he arrested had her driver's license in his possession. Deacon can't figure out why he feels so possessive over Leia, I mean they just met but his heart and head are telling him that she is his "one and only". Deacon and his partner go to talk to Donald, the jerk that was messing with Leia and find him and his girlfriend dead. They find stuff that ties him to a serial killer dubbed "The Shadow Killer". They believe that Donald was just an accomplice and that the real killer is still out there. Leia finds a cassette tape on her doormat and throws it in her purse and ends up forgetting about it. A couple days later when she sees the tape again she listens to it and what's on the tape has the detectives believing she is the killers next victim. Grab this book today and see if Deacon and his partner can catch the killer before the killer gets to Leia. This is an edge of your seat thriller and had one heck of a twist in the end. It is a definite must read and had me turning the page to the very end. I couldn't put it down. Love everything I've read by this author and this book is truly a thrill ride to the bitter end!!!!

Brilliant story, I'm blessed to see this author evolve and her writing skills maturing. This book is her best so far.
Romance with a lot of thrilling, heart stopping moments. I even shed a tear, laughed with the characters and held my breath when all seemed lost.
Who is the killer? I didn't see that coming at all. I yelled at the author don't kill Elvis!!! You'll have to read this story to understand that one.
What a ride of emotions as this killer is hunted down. Will the detective and Betty Boop survive? And what about their friends? I loved the secondary characters in their circle too.
Well written story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have had the privilege of reading all of this author's books before release & none of them have disappointed. This one has shot right to the top of my favourites though.

A super hot cop, a feisty heroine & a healthy dose of suspense thrown in makes this book a perfect hit in my eyes. Fabulous secondary characters too - fantastic!

Shadow Game, by Kay Maree! I really liked it, it's well written and the storyline and the characters are well developed.

Leia James, a sassy and curvy woman, meets the eyes of one handsome Deacon Black in a karaoke bar. Deacon and his partner Jim works as detectives with the police force, and they are looking for a serial killer named the Shadow Killer!
But after that night, they think the killer is targeting Leia. And IF they are right, can Deacon and Jim find the killer before he gets Leia??

The attraction and the instant chemistry between Leia and Deacon are amazingly hot! And the bedroom activities are beyond hot!!

I recommend this book if your looking for a instant love story with a bit of suspense!

I thank the author for providing a copy to voluntarily review.

Shadows

What an intriguing book. I loved both the main characters as well as the supporting characters. The way the author wrote this story kept me immersed in the storyline.
Leia is a fun loving spunky female getting over a recent breakup when she lays eyes on Deacon. Deacon is working a horrific case when he first sees Leia singing at a local club and just can't get her off his mind. Twists and turns will keep you thoroughly enthralled. Well written with wonderful support characters.🌺

This book was fun and attention grabbing right from the beginning. Lee Lee was such an amazing character, as were her close bonds with her friends. Their humor was great, so was her strength, and the way she kept her cool while being dumped. Deacon = delicious detective who had wonderful chemistry with Lee Lee.

I am going to keep this short and sweet so that I don't give away anything!

This is the second book I have read by Kay Maree and I loved it! It is so different from her Mine series! I love romantic suspense and this book certainly had that! So much so that I couldn't stop turning the pages!

It was hot, it was funny and it was down right gripping! Loved every moment of it!

This book is like nothing I have ever read before!!! So fast paced, jumping from Leia's POV to Deacon's POV...it's just crazy! But I was hooked, and I kept forgetting it was supposed to be a suspense novel as someone was out to kill Leia!!! The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was all of the F bombs, but that's just me.

Wow!!! What a book!!! I want Deacon in my bed, even though I found him a little over protective at times his and Leia’s relationship was steamy and this definitely was not a book I could read alone at night as it was suspenseful but that’s just because I’m not good with scary things. The steamy parts more than made up for it though
