Survival drives humans to extraordinary lengths. There's no custom too sacred to sacrifice when life is about to be destroyed. In 2231, humans have overcome their first great invasion attempt, only to realize they have lost touch with their humanity. "Learn from the past" becomes Earth's future.Noel discovers life isn't fair when Fourth of July fireworks become her deathtrap when one explodes in her living room. But coming nose to chest with a man from the future who risked his life to save her from an inferno, she opens her eyes to face a time where individuality has been forgotten.Thorn has selected Noel as his reward for years of service on the battlefield. Every raw male inch of his seven-foot frame is confident they should begin immediately on building a life together.Noel's new life spirals out of the bounds of logic as she is seduced into the practices of her new companions. In a world where survival is foremost, jealousy isn't part of a relationship. The only thing Thorn seems possessive of is her heart, but her body can be shared.

It felt like plot went nowhere. It went on and on about sex between the couple and others.

I enjoyed this sci-fi romance. It was a fast ride, sensual and fun. I wish it were longer but the 'short novel' length from this Ellora's Cave offering was enough to give the main H & H relationship some depth so that it wasn't just one woman humping 2 guys. No, 4 guys. Maybe more. It's been awhile since I read it.

Besides the sex, there was absolutely no point to this story. I swear Noel had more feelings for her clit piercing than she did for her boyfriends.
