Written in 1960 and updated in 1973. This book is excellent for anyone either from the Vermont/New Hampshire area or anyone who plans on visiting for an extended period of time. Which is the case for me. It’s a great survey of the history of the area beginning with Champlain‘s discovery through the late 1800s. The last two chapters are touch dated, but that’s to be expected. I learned lots of things I didn’t know. Well written and easy to read.
