Broken: Taylor by Hildie McQueen
2nd in the series. Can be read as a stand-alone romance.
Taylor is an ex-cop on medical leave. Allison owns a flower store. Both are mid forties. She has had a crush on him since high school which was reciprocated but neither acted on it at the time. They have friends in common so proximity is a factor in their getting together.
There is a lot going on in this book. Some suspense. Friends to lovers issues. Many of their friends becoming couples or finding someone in chapters of their own. A potential drug addition by the hero, and then a murder.
I don't think the heroine respected herself enough, but then the hero went off to have surgery and recovery for quite a long time without even telling her even though they had already been lovers.
It's a romance so of course it ends well, but it's a bumpy road.

Book 2 in the Laurel Creek series is filled with lots of angst and hope, as well as steamy encounters. Former police detective Taylor is definitely a broken man; one who is in constant physical and emotional pain and who has suffered too much tragedy. You can’t help but be drawn in and rooting for him to be made whole again. Allison is back home after a failed relationship, but she’s hoping she and Taylor can help each other and become more than friends because she’s wanted him for as long as she can remember. This story goes through lots of ups and downs and also involves Taylor’s cousins and Allison’s friends, so there’s more than one story line here. I loved following Taylor and Allison on their journey, but especially Taylor, as he ends up having to deal with more tragedy before things are made right. You cannot read this series without feeling many emotions. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book about cousin Tobias.

This is the second book in the Laurel Creek Series, and all I can say is that this series just keeps getting better. Taylor is truly a broken man, he has been through so much and is physically and mentally not in a good place. I found myself rooting for Taylor, I so wanted him to become a whole man again. Allison has moved back home and wants to be more than friends with Taylor, she has wanted him for so long, but Taylor is no where near ready for more.
This book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions, there is angst, drama, tragedy, passion, romance, friends and family. I loved that we got to catch up with Luke from the first book in the series, and I cannot wait to see what happens next in Laurel Creek.

The Laurel Creek boys are awesome!
I loved Jaded and meeting everyone, Luke is still my favorite but I have to give Taylor some credit he's pretty great! Allison is an interesting character and although she definitely has her quirks I enjoyed learning her story.
Ups, downs and a few in between moments kept me engaged and turning pages. Seeing old characters and meeting new characters is so much fun, I can't wait for the next book!

Taylor and Allison
Goldie McQueen has put together another fabulous story about another Hamilton. This book is about Taylor and Allison. Allison has been crushing over Taylor since high school. After moving back into her Grandmother’s house in Laurel Creek, Montana she decides that she needs to find out if there is something to her attraction. This is a well written and easy flowing book. It’s great for a snowy day.

He was broken; so much loss.
This is a fabulous book. After reading Luke, I had to see what Taylor was doing. Cops have so much to deal with today and this is part of the storyline. This author has the talent to bring you right inside the book and make you stay until the end. I highly recommend the writing and this book.

Dreams come true
Great continuation of the series about the Hamilton boys. Can't wait to read about Tori and Tobias.
Taylor is getting deeper and deeper into his pain and the pills aren't helping.
Allison has moved back home to start over.
Can these two find true love that has been missing in their lives?

Great series!
Hildie is a great writer. She makes the people come off the page, you feel like you know each one personally . Can't wait for the next one.

Another enjoyable story in the Laurel Creek series! I love Taylor and Allison's story. Their story has some hiccups and uncomfortable times, but it ends in their own HEA.
