Z hovna bič
Chvilka příšerné poezie s autorem kultovního Mládí v hajzlu.
Co si asi tak může člověk slibovat od života, když ho osud obdaří ne zrovna přitažlivým zjevem, mizerným zrakem, předčasnou plešatostí a navrch jménem Daniel Richard Nixon (ne, po žádných příbuzenských vazbách nepátrejte, to jen Dannyho otec projevil svůj republikánský zápal)? Nejspíš nic moc. Takže žádný div, že je z Dannyho v osmatřiceti osaměle žijící muž se špatně placeným zaměstnáním, těžce závislý na alkoholu a nikotinu. A když pak v práci dojde k reorganizaci a jeho místo zruší pro nadbytečnost, je to už vyloženě na mašli.
Na druhou stranu by mohlo být i hůř. Tak například Dannyho bývalý kolega Tim je momentálně z důvodu svedení nezletilé osoby (ačkoli sám tvrdí, že to bylo přesně naopak) na útěku před zákonem, a především před otcem dotyčné slečny, zástupcem šerifa Grizzoffskim, bývalým armádním sniperem s dlouhými prsty a touhou po krvi. Čeká na Dannyho nová úžasná kariéra v maloobchodním prodeji či v psychoterapeutické praxi? Najde konečně spřízněnou duši, s níž by kráčel životem? Je tou pravou oddaná katolička a milovnice koček Wenda, tajemná Abby, mladičká Olivia nebo bývalá spolužačka Lizzie? Na všechny tyto i další otázky vám odpoví nejnovější humoristický román C. D. Payna.

C.D. Payne
41 books171 followersAuthor and showman C.D. Payne was born in Akron, Ohio in 1949 (making him a contemporary of Richard Gere and Meryl Streep). He spent his early years in West Virginia and southern Ohio, moving back to Akron while still a mere tot.
He went to public schools in Akron, and then graduated from Harvard College, where he majored in history and participated in the annual spring riot. In 1971 he moved to California. During the next 25 years, he held over 50 jobs including newspaper editor, book publisher's assistant, proofreader, trailer park handyman, and catalog writer.
Since 2004 he has been the proprietor of the Eyelusion Museum, a mobile discovery museum in a restored and polished 1964 Airstream trailer. His latest mobile sideshow is a 1950s miniature town (shown below) called Zippy Town. It can been seen at the Santa Rosa Handcar Regatta and other events.
He is married and lives in Sonoma County.

Immensely readable as all of C.D. Payne’s books are. I managed to read 90% of the thing on one day— truly an impressive feat.
If you are familiar with Nick Twisp, this will feel a little derivative— it’s basically like “what if Youth in Revolt but an alcoholic middle-aged man?” To which you may reply, “haven’t books 4-whatever it’s at now covered that aspect of Nick Twisp’s life?” Yes, but again— it’s like we are imagining a first book about a 40-y/o sexual and alcoholic degenerate.
It also occurred to me how much this particular book is like the Japanese anime harem genre. Pervy despicable loser juggles relationships with 5 or so females and never gets laid, all to comedic effect.
At this point, if you’re on this page, for this book and this author, you’re either here for Payne’s verbose and pervy, quick-witted and unrealistic dialogue between characters or you’re not. I am ride or die, I guess.

K tejto knižke asi veľmi nemám čo povedať. Popravde si nie som istá (ani s odstupom času) či si za mňa knižka vôbec zaslúži 2 ⭐️⭐️. Humor v knižke mi absolútne nesadol, nepobavila som sa snáď ani na jednej scéne a bola som rada, keď som dočítala poslednú stránku a už som sa viac netrýznila. Podľa názvu ma to trochu zaujalo, no veľmi som sa sklamala. Bohužiaľ, aj také knižky asi musia byť

První a poslední čtvrtina byla jízda. Asi si knihu znova nepřečtu, ale toho času nelituju.
