Satan's Devils MC #3

Slick Running (Satan's Devils #3)

Rate this book
Slick Like the rest of my brothers, I'm devastated when disaster hits the Satan's Devils MC. Shocked and angry, there couldn't be a worse time to be contacted by the woman I'd briefly made my old lady, only for her to run the moment things got too tough. She'd left me with no explanation, and in my book that was enough to cut her out for good. When she finds herself in trouble Prez makes me go see her and offer my help. But only on the condition she knows what was once between us will stay dead and buried. There had been no good reason for her to run, had there? Ella I didn't run from Slick, I ran from his club, only to find the world outside their protection can be just as dangerous. And now, to protect my little sister, I've no alternative other than to ask Slick for help. It's not good timing, the Satan's Devils have just lost one of their own. I understand why Slick wants to keep his distance, I 'd hurt him when he'd put everything on the line, acting out of character and claiming me as his old lady. A gesture I'd thrown back in his face. But I'm not the same woman he first met. There are things he doesn't know.

Manda’s life's always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

Oh my god Manda Mellett has out did herself with this one talk about making a girl cry in the beginning of the story ( side note if you haven't read the first two books in the series you wont feel the big emotional hit so I highly suggest that you read them first or at least turning wheels ) . My heart broke for the group of brothers , hero , heroine , and secondary characters I couldn't imagine the pain they all go through . Lets talk about Slick I had a love hate reaction to him ,it was understanding why he acted the way he did he more then paid for it in the end so he became very swoon worthy alpha who can be patient just like his fellow brothers who have fallen under the spell of their old ladies . Ella I related to her a lot I didn't have the exact experience that she did but in a way similar and I had family and friends to bring me out of the darkness and I can't imagine doing it alone like she did really wanted to give her hug it's so awesome Satan devils were there for her , another thing that adored about her was her reaction to bikers meaning every time I'll see one in the store most likely going to embarrass myself in some way also Jax from SOA yummy . Over all really enjoyed this book can not wait to see whats to come I'm on egg shells to see a certain someones reaction most likely going to cry when that does happen . Plus this series is set close to were I love and Mellett did such an incredible job describing it .

Slick Running is the third book in Satan’s Devils MC Series by Manda Mellett. As with the rest of the books in this series, this is a riveting MC story- with complex, quirky and loveable characters, camaraderie, family, friendship, loyalty, chemistry, sparks, tension, sizzle, drama, trafficking, drugs, hidden agendas, compromised law enforcement, passion, and healing. This book contains some sensitive subjects- but Ms. Mellett has handled them in a considerate, yet honest way.
I wasn’t sure I was going to ‘like’ Slick in this book, as he really disappointed me in the previous book. But, thankfully he won me over- and I was totally engrossed by the story. He and Ella have a complicated history, and I really felt for them- especially Ella.
Loved the way it all came together in the end!
Bring on Book #4!

Thank you, Ms. Mellett!

heart breaking

This was a heard read and at first I didn't know who this women was and then I remembered her from the first book and totally forgot about her and it was good to see what hapenedto her and explained about some of the first book and how they got some thing's done to make sure Sophie was okay. It was heartbreaking tho because there was adeath in theis bok of one of the ol ladies tha we never got much to see in the first two books and I would have liked to see more of her. I'm gld that at the end they got there brother back but what shape he is going to be in. That's going to be another thing entirely. This book i a hard read for a couple of reasons and that is the rape of a character and the huma trafficing trade that dose go on in our world so if you get upset by this then dont read it it is fiction but it could trigger for some poeple. But for me this book was incredible how the author writes is emperthetic to these issues and for me having only just found this author she is becoming one of those I'm sure are going to be a staple of my reading addiction

This is definitely a book that should only be read by those over 18, as there is profanity, extremely graphic and explicit scenes throughout, and not just of the adult variety. If you have any trigger points, or PTSD, this may be a series for you to avoid, but these books are great if you like hard hitting books that are full of emotion. They can be read individually, however, I would recommend reading them in the order in which they were written.

This book starts with a link to "Turning Wheels'' and a confrontation with another MC where the Satan’s Devil’s brought in a woman, Ella, to help them deal with the situation. She ends up getting hurt and although claimed by Slick, she abruptly leaves without a word to anyone apart from Drummer. We find ourselves revisiting her after she contacts Slick again, as she needs some help. Slick ignores the calls she is making and denies her his help (without consulting the rest of the club) in a spiteful manner because he is still hurting from when she left. She happens to call when he is in a meeting with Drummer and so he demands to know what is going on Slick explains the situation and Drummer demands that he goes over to see her and sort the issue out, as they owe her a lot.

When Slick goes to see Ella with one of the club Prospects, she is being harassed by her housemates boyfriend and when Slick sees that he is claiming that Ella is his. all the old feelings are brought back and neither of them quite knows how to deal with it, so when Ella makes it clear that she is not with the guy and gets into an argument with him, Slick and the prospect escort him out and tell him that he is not allowed back to the house. After this, Ella tells Slick why she has called him and why she needs the club's help. Ella explains that she is worried about her younger sister because her behaviour has changed dramatically over the last few months, Slick agrees that he will ask the club if there is anything that they can do.

After this, Slick asks why she left him before and they both get angry and shout at each other, but she eventually gets to the point where she starts sobbing uncontrollably and the truth of her experience, that she has been hiding from everyone, comes out in all it’s foul reality. At this point she breaks down and Slick has to call Doc to come and see her. When Ella comes out of her faint, she finds that she is back at the club and doesn’t want to be there, in her mind, it is the last place that she wants to be. When the club find out exactly how much they owe Ella.

This is a story of revelations, revenge, protection, loyalty, trust being broken and remade, relationships being rebuilt and as always in this series, a lot of sex.

This is the third book in the Satan’s Devils Motorcycle Club (MC) series. When disaster hits the MC, everyone, including Slick, is devastated. So, when Ella, the woman he had briefly claimed as his old lady, contacts him for help, it couldn’t have come at a worse time. A few months before, Ella had abandoned Slick without any explanation. Slick had no intentions of helping Ella, but the Prez insisted Slick repay Ella for her previous help with some ‘club business’. Ella understands that it’s not good timing for her to get in touch with Slick, as the MC has just lost one of its own, but she needs help to protect her sister. There are reasons Ella ran from Slick and his MC, things he doesn’t know. Will they reconcile their differences?

I had never read any MC books before starting this series, and now I’m addicted! I don’t know how the author does it, but she sucks you into the story from the very first page and doesn’t let go until the last. Ella had been through a very traumatic and horrific experience while helping the MC, which she kept secret from them all. Initially, Slick was a typically rough biker, but once Ella opened up to him, I loved him! He was kind, gentle and very patient with her. I also loved how Ella changed and progressed as well. There was some great character development throughout the story. I also loved reading about the ‘club business’ (usually illegal activities that involved taking the law into their own hands); there was never a boring moment! There were quite a few steamy scenes, which also added to the excitement of the book! Just a note that these books can be read as standalone, but I recommend you read them in order.

I don’t think there was anything that I didn’t love about this. It was gripping from start to finish! It was thrilling and heartbreaking all at the same time. Therefore, I give Slick Running 5 out of 5 stars!

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves contemporary fiction, erotic novels, motorcycles and motorcycle clubs, violence, a lot of swearing, and romance.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC Book 3) by Manda Mellett

5 ++++++++ Stars

Once again, I've read this series from #6 on, and have even read the multiple series that have broken off from the Tuscan chapter and have just recently gone back to read the first 5 of this series. It's awesome because I feel like I already know all of these people, yet have always had this little question mark in the back of my mind as to where and how their stories began.

This one came right out of the shoot tearing at my emotions, and I'm not sure those emotions ever evened out while reading the rest. This one kinda sorta has two storylines, one started back in book #1 and I love the way that was all handled..took me a second and I was like whoa hold on this sounds familiar then I actually went back and paid attention to the times given to me at the beginning of the chapters.

My heart is still completely broken and there's parts of this book that will still play out later and I'm actually not looking forward to those because I know they aren't going to be easy. Not going to go into any of that because it really just needs to be read to appreciate all of the emotions.

Slick has absolutely positively won every ounce of respect I can muster up, I felt so bad for him because he didn't know the whole story about Ella and what she went through and acted rashly, as well as how Ella was dealing with it all. There are alot of moving parts to this whole book, and in some ways it's because I know what is to come down the road. This is now another of my favorites from all of these series and can not wait to jump into the next story which I will be doing as soon as i'm done typing this review.

Please do yourself a favor and lose yourself in this Satan’s Devils world...it is absolutely positively no doubt about it my favorite MC of all books I've ever read!

Slick Running, is book three in Manda Mellett’s ‘Satan’s Devils MC’ series, Satan’s Devils are “hot alpha males who certainly aren’t shy in the bedroom”, and one by one they meet their strong feisty women, “who they want to ride with through life”, and this is Slick and Ella’s story. The club is devastated following the loss of one of their own so it’s not great timing when Slick’s ‘old lady’ suddenly returns needing Slick’s and the MC’s help. Slick had claimed Ella but then she ran away from both the club and Slick and he has no idea why so when she returns needing help he is obviously wary. However when he and the club discover why she needs their help they have no option but to help. The Satan’s Devils then find themselves having to break up a child grooming ring to rescue Ella’s younger sister. Meanwhile Slick and Ella still have the same attraction and chemistry they always had but Slick is determined that their past stays dead and buried and Ella is keeping a secret so can they overcome all the obstacles and get back together.
I loved Ella and Slick and was cheering them in to their happy ever after. I found this book a bit darker than the previous ones in the series as it deals with child grooming but to me this just added depth to the story making this series so much more than, just another MC series.

Devastated and angry when disaster hits the Stan’s Devils, Slick is angered and shocked, as this could not have come at the worst time. For the woman he was briefly with, had left him when things got to rough, leaving him with no explanations at all.
Although, she finds herself in trouble, Prez makes him go to see her and offer his help, but only on the one condition that the thing between them will stay dead and buried. Although, why did she run, and was there a good reason to do so?

Ella hadn’t actually ran from Slick, she ran from the club, but she found the world outside the club to be more dangerous. And now, for the protection of her little sister, she has no other option to ask Slick for her protection.
Timing is not great however, as they have just lost one of their own. Ella understands why he would want to keep his distance, he had put everything on the line for her, she had hurt him for running. Yet, she is not the same woman she was when she first met him, there are things he does not know.

This is a well developed story, and the relationship between Ella and Slick is really engaging. I found I raced through this book, very emotional, packed with twists and turns that will literally keep you going until the last page.

2nd time reading this book.

Dnf 55% I just got bored, it just went on and on and on to the point I'm forcing myself to read it. I'm at 55% and theyve just had sex for the first time and I couldnt even drum up much energy to read that cos I was so over it.

Yeah she was gang raped but she went to a club house as a hanger on knowing shed have to have sex with the guys. She thought she was gonna be able to what there? I just dont get the h who first wanted to be a sweet butt and in order to be one she goes to a rival gangs club agreeing to have sex with them.

Ok so she didnt expect to be pulling a train and have a modicum of consent, but fuck me women gotta take responsibility their their own actions n stupidity too.

On and on and on we hear how afraid she is of the sd brothers and tbh I couldnt drum up any sympathy or empathy for her, she just plain got on my nerves.

I cant read a book with a h that I cant stand it dislike.

Shame cos now its put me off the entire series. And I guess that's why first time around I didnt buy book 4 either! It's not gotten better 2nd time around.

I thought this was going to be a milder story than the previous, but no! if anything, this is grittier than the others. a sensitive, appalling topic that pulls emotion from every fibre.
the plotline was involved with lots of substance and soul wrenching fear. I worried for Ella and thought Slick was turning out to be a saint, not a devil. ...having the subplot forcing its way into the light was brilliant. it created the angst I needed and kept the storyline moving throughout the series.
I just can't get enough of manda. Her writing, for me, is perfectly balanced. It's not a light sweep over MC life, like a few other authors. I have read grittier and enjoyed those immensely, but this is an MC club that is, like many, prone to walking the fine line between good and bad. However, the morals and forethought are meatier and pieced together a lot better. I'm not sure I like Slicks antics with Ella in the end. For me It wasn't really my cup of tea.
I'd rather Drummers antics than slicks.
Cannot get over Logan and Sierra, geez they are good. brilliant narration.
can't wait to read more.

Slick Running was a great addition to the Satan's Devils MC Series. I really enjoyed all the action, drama, suspense and of course, the romance!!

I absolutely LOVED Slick. He was so patient and caring toward Ella, and I loved how protective he was of her and her sister. At first, I was shocked he claimed Ella so quickly, but as the story goes on, you realize even he knows it was fast, he barely knew her, but he felt ‘something special.’ He wasn't wrong, there was something special that developed between them.

Ella went through something horrific and I felt as though her reaction and healing process was realistic. My heart ached for her, and I’m so glad that Slick was still there for her, but allowed her the space that she needed. I was so happy when she realized that Slick would never hurt her, and she was able to fully put her trust in him. Their romance was sweet, swoony and sexy!

I cannot wait for what comes next in the series!

Slick Running:
By Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars

This is the next wonderful story in an amazing series. It is the story of Ella and Slick. Ella helped the Satan’s Devils. Then she ran away from them and Slick. When she contacts him again, he is at first determined not to get fooled again. Then he learns the reason why he then is determined to not only help her but get her back as well. What does the future hold for Slick and Ella? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has dark moments as well as heartbreaking ones. One of the reasons why I love this series so much is that the Satan’s Devils club is one that has a code of brotherhood and to protect those who fall under their protection. While they may be misunderstood by many, they believe in bringing justice to those that they help. This story will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. The wonderful third book in the series.

I loved this book. This is Slick's story from the Satan's Devils MC series. If you haven't read any of this series, I highly suggest you do. His story is a little sad but second chances could mean a happy ever after for him. This is a well developed story that is full of action and steamy bikers. I had no problems connecting with the characters. They made the story engaging and realistic. Slick took Ella as his woman but when things got tough she runs or at least that is what he thinks. Now that she finds herself in need of help she has to turn to him. Is she the same woman that ran or did she have her reasons for running? They are great characters that I loved and they are supportive of each other. You won't regret picking this book up for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

If I could I would totally insert the crying emoji first for this book! What a way to start the third book in this series! Talk about emotional!! Slick is one of those characters that when you start reading about him you really question him and his personality but he’s been hurt and I can kind of understand him but it really didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him just as I have with the other brothers in this MC. Once he realised what had happened to Ella that MC protectiveness took over! The story is really cleverly written as the storyline kind of begins in book 1 (so I highly recommend these are read in order) but the writing is so smooth and seamless that it’s really easy to read.

Not my favorite in this series. I’ve read most of these books out of order so I know the writing gets better but Running Slick was a painful read. I almost dnf so many times but I stuck it out. Honestly, this book was boring. I did skim a lot up til about 58%. Now, that’s where it started to get good. I couldn’t stand Ella’s character. She was portrayed as being so weak. I don’t mind a weak h if she develops a backbone as the story progresses. I didn’t get that with this story.

I know the author has “cleaned up” the UK euphemism but if you are going to write a book set in the US please use US terms. Seriously, a biker saying reckon ???? Anyway I’m giving Slick Running a 3⭐️ and that’s being generous.

Slick Running by Manda Mellett a five-star read that will ease your journey. This is number three in the Satan’s Devils MC Books and this one well I don’t know what to say about it, as it took me on such a powerful and emotional journey. Ella was a great character and she has her reasons behind her actions, once you get to those reasons you understand her better and she becomes a more whole person than she is when you first start reading. I will admit I struggled with Ella at times, but the more I read, the more I understood her and the more I liked her. Slick well he was just as slick as his name, normally not y cup of tea, but there is something special about him.

Slick Running by Manda Mellett is a five star read that will leave you yearning more each and every time. This is book three in the Satan’s Devils MC series and is a powerful and emotional rollercoaster.

Ella decides to help the Satan's Devils but she never could have imagined the price she had to pay. How do you tell the one person you can't get out of your head, who you are sure will never want you after he learns the truth, what happened?

Slick thought he had found what he was looking for but that was never real, however when he finally learns the truth he can't believe how stupid he was and just what was at stake.

Slick Running Satan's Devil's MC Book 3

I had it In my head I was gonna Hate Slicks Ol'Lady. But come to find out she really grew on you once you found out the reason that she left & why she couldn't cope.. Oh her sister broke my heart. I felt so sorry for them both. I loved this storyline. It show that no matter what you go through you can have a family that will support you through thick & Thin. And that family is not always blood but the people you chose to have your back.. I recommend this book and the series! The Author is a awesome storyteller.

Slick Running
Ella is asked to do something extremely dangerous for the club. She agrees because she thinks it will be her ”in” to be with Slick. While on her “mission” something happens and she not only runs from the club, she runs from Slick when she needs him the most. When she calls him because she needs help, he is most definitely not going to blind sided again. When he finds out exactly why Ella ran, he vows to make everything right between them. This book will have you flying through to see what happens next.

This book was so much more than I expected. We get the real story of what happened to Ella. Then there is the devastating news of Heart and Crystal. After that the story ramps up! It’s filled with things that make me cry and have hope all at the same time. This REALLy shows how strong the brotherhood is between these Devils. Funny how I really wasn’t interested in Slick and Ella’s story until I got going in this. Not to mention we get the very beginning of Paladin and Jaydens story. I ended up loving this.

Slick Running: Satan's Devil's MC (3)

These books don't stop for a minute, so much going on. Unlike most other MC books the other chapters are fully involved. If you choose to read this series, look at the author's reading order, it says need other chapters series too, they intermingle, as these books are excellent, I'm following the author, she wrote it, she knows it best. As things stand, she's still writing, there are still 18 books to go, FANTASTIC

Totally loved Slick and Ella!!! He was obviously into her right from the start. She was complete old lady material, even though she wanted to avoid the club. Glad she needed the Satan's Devils help and was able to change her kind about these protective bikers!! I can't wait to see what happens with Jayden and Paladin ❤

I listened to the audiobook and it was expertly narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister.

Good but not best of series

The beginning is heartbreaking…literally. Once that is somewhat processed, I really enjoyed the story of Slick & Ella even though they were both so stupid about one another in the beginning. It was really hard to read about the grooming and abuse to young girls but I understand it’s need to further the story. It may have been a HEA, but El & her sister Jayden will definitely need counseling.

Slick fell hard for Ella. He claimed her before his brothers only to have her keave him, not understanding why he refuses to let her explain why she is contacting him.

Ella loves Slick, yet she hides a secret from him and his brothers. She needs the help of Satan's Devil's for her sister. The club owes her for her help.

Will she tell Slick what happened the night she helped the club? What new problem do the deal with? For the answers you will have to read.

Slick had strong feelings from the instant he met Ella, he wanted to protect her but chose the club first so when she runs he takes it personally. This has been another amazing read with heart breaking storyline that will certainly keep you gripped until the end.
