A whole lot of story in this book, not always a nice settled flow as it does get slightly interupted going back to the past before jumping to the current time again but once you get used to that it's ok. It is very suspenseful and it has a few twists, quite a bit of tension and some violence. I found it gripping and a page turner through most of the story, the characters were easy to love and in parts had my heart breaking for them. I am actually reading the box set but also reviewing the individual books as I go. There is a very slight cliff hanger at the end to lead into book two but not enough to put anyone off reading as a stand alone if that's what they want, obviously I'm going straight into the next book as I love getting stuck into a series. Loved it
Suspenseful and action packed read, great plot and fabulous flow throughout. Loved the main characters as well as the continuity from book 1. The plot is interesting and that as a few twists that kept it a little bit edgy, the action scenes were exciting and fulfilled expectancy. Great story I am loving it and the series.
The main plot continues with the suspense of threats in the background that is building up with the bad guys, while the main characters are trying to maintain their lives with the everyday worries that trouble many in real life. Intense and full of unsuspecting twists and turns, new characters arriving and old ones returning, this story just keeps giving with each new book. Thankfully I am reading the box set but also reviewing each single book as I go. This isn't a one and done type plot, the main one runs through the series while each book deals with a particular part of that, so if you don't like investing in 5 books then you may want to think about it. I personally feel its worth it, there is a whole lot of story in these. The main characters are very easy to love, though one can be a little bit over the top at times but very sweet in others, the pace is steady most of the time but does seem to speed up sometimes but that could be me holding my breathe. Loving it.
Wow, full on dramatic story with a ton of suspense building to an exciting climax before slowing to a sweet and more light hearted finish. The bad guys are still plotting and planning, while the good guys are investigating and spying wherever they can to figure out what the bigger scheme is, this 4th part of the series is explosive and non stop intrigue. I struggled to put it down to sleep only to pick it up as soon as I could to finish reading, as with the other books it does have a slight lead into the next book and I must admit even with how it ended in this one I am half concerned there will be another twist to this plot. What a ride this series is, with great characters and a fast but complex plot.
There s a lot more to this story than a simple romance or even just a bit of mystery. There is a whole undercover element and I don't mean the agents of the CIA or DEA's jobs. With some violent content but nothing more than you would expect for this type of book.
It is well written and has a fairly fast pace, the chapters blend into each other so it is easy to follow. Apart from one or two characters most were very likeable, even a few of the bad guys. I loved the relationship between Devon and Elle, having started at a very young age on Elle's side with her adoration and following Devon whenever he was with her brother. It progressed further in adulthood, there were times when I would have liked to bang there heads together even though I understood the reasoning behind some of the things one or other decided to do. This story also broke my heart near the end and I just prayed all would come good again.
Although the early chapters are just getting into the story, and therefore at a slower pace than further in there is still plenty to keep you rooted to your seat and keep reading. I loved that it brought out various emotions while reading, for me that is always a good indicator of a fantastic author. Great read and I definitely recommend it, though I would suggest starting at the beginning of the Steele Security Series as some of the main characters and there stories do carry through. I started with this one as I was offered the chance to read an arc, but I did feel I had missed something with Devon and his friends. After all they are the main base for this series and this book, playing quite a large part, so knowing their back stories and how they got to where they are now is helpful. I have just re-read this as part of the box set and whole series. I feel it is an even more incredible story after reading the earlier books and therefore having the whole picture and all the background information on all the characters and their lives, so I do really recommend reading from the start.
