Excerpt from Acts and Resolves Passed by the General Assembly of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, at the January Session, A. D. 1913
Section 1. St. Joseph's Hospital, a corporation existing under the laws of the State of Rhode Island, and located in the city of Providence, in said state, 223: $330. May, with the consent of the city council of said city and of the corporations having franchises in the high ways of said city, build and maintain a conduit under and across Peace street in said city from land of said St. Joseph's Hospital on the north side of Peace street at the northwest comer of Broad street and Peace street to the buildings of said St. Joseph's Hospital now standing or to be constructed on the land of said St. Joseph's Hospital on the south side of said Peace street, between Broad street and Updike street, and lay and maintain pipes and wires therein for the purpose of furnishing said buildings with heat and light.
