Six people suffer violent deaths in a diner on a lonely stretch of highway south of New Orleans. A waitress – Ellie Mae Sawyer – escapes the scene, but having been a witness to the carnage she is now in extreme danger, knowing that the perpetrators will not rest until she has been found and silenced. Joe Logan, an ex-NYPD homicide detective, lives off the grid, has no family, or any place to call home. He is a drifter who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is now accused of involvement in the multiple murders. He is on the run, and has the added problem of attempting to safeguard Ellie Mae as they flee through the swamplands of Louisiana. Logan knows that sometimes the best form of defense is attack, and so decides to take the initiative; become the hunter instead of the quarry, and seek out and deal with a ruthless gangster and his paid killers. Playing cat and mouse with lowlifes’ is not a new game to Logan, but in this particular case he will come face to face with a professional hitman who has never failed to eradicate a mark.

I write the type of original, action-packed, violent crime thrillers that I know I would enjoy reading if they were written by such authors as: Lee Child, David Baldacci, Harlan Coben, Michael Connelly and their ilk.
Over twenty years in the Prison Service proved great research into the minds of criminals, and especially into the dark world that serial killers - of who I have met quite a few - frequent.

I live in a cottage a mile from the nearest main road in the Yorkshire Wolds, enjoy photography, the wildlife, and of course creating new characters to place in dilemmas that my mind dreams up.

What makes a good read? Believable protagonists that you care about, set in a story that stirs all of your emotions.

If you like crime fiction, then I believe that 'Deadly Reprisal' and 'A Reacher Kind of Guy - Aftermath' will push all the right buttons for you.

Brilliant - Joe Logan doing what he does best - binning the rubbish in society!

I saved this as my Christmas read, so I'm a little late with my review, but it hasn't lessened my memory of this fantastic story telling. As always the author grabs your attention from the first page, it's impossible to put down, even to sleep, all to soon I'd finished it and wanted more!

Joe Logan is the ultimate protagonist you'd want on your side, not against you. He has an inbuilt sense of justice, for righting the wrongs done to the innocent, and he asks for nothing in return (something lacking in today's society I fear)

In need of a coffee hit, he stops at a lonely diner, only to be faced with mayhem and bloody murder...........He's out of it, after suffering a blow to the head, as he rises from his seat to help, then faces the consequences of being accused of multiple murders and a missing waitress. This is just the beginning, it's exciting, thrilling, riveting and cleverly written as is the norm, for this author!

If you haven't read a 'Joe Logan' story you really are missing out on these totally engrossing reads, I thoroughly recommend the who series!
