There’s nothing like a holiday story to get my festive juices flowing and R.R. Banks gave us a sweet one. I’m still pretty new to his writing, but I love how he brings his characters to life. In The Christmas Surprise , both Holly and Graham were dealing with broken hearts and hopes for a second chance at love. Originally, their plans didn’t include each other, but plans change, don’t they? Especially with a little helping hand of serendipity.

To be honest, as wonderful as this author’s writing was, I didn’t fall in love with this story, only because I didn’t fall in love with it’s characters. Well, really only one character. Graham was created just the way I like my heroes. Compassionate, honorable, successful, generous, and dedicated. However, Holly rubbed my nerves raw from beginning to end. I kept hoping for a moment of redemption, but maybe I’m just picky because I couldn’t find one. Overall, Graham and his son, Charlie, made this story work and I couldn’t get enough of them.

Holly lost the Christmas magic a long time ago when she learned at an early age she couldn’t depend on her parents. Of course, it doesn’t help that she’s sick of everyone assuming she loves Christmas because of her name (aren’t we all wondering?), or that her boyfriend broke up with her just before Christmas (scum-sucking pond licker!). Understandably, she's decided to skip Christmas altogether and go on a cruise. When she can’t find a flight out and decides to take the train to the cruise ship port, she has a few less than enticing encounters with Graham, a fellow passenger. Through a series of unfortunate events, they find themselves stranded in small town America for the duration.

Their first impressions of each other are anything but love at first sight (more like “I will keel you!”). In addition to the fact that Holly wants no emotional entanglements, Graham has decided the thing to do is convince his ex-wife to reconcile so his five year old son can grow up with both parents. Fate seems to have other ideas (doesn’t she always?), and they go from competing and trying to best each other to an uneasy truce, then working together and discovering their feelings for each other.

Once again Banks takes us to the delightful, endearing quirkiness that is Whiskey Hollow. With impromptu transportation on an uncovered hay wagon pulled by a tractor alongside an apologizing turkey (in a snow storm), the First and a Half Church, more yummy recipes, and a host of unconventional supporting characters who will keep you in stitches, Banks sets the scene in a quaint, unique, slightly absurd but thoroughly captivating rural town that propels the reader front and center in Graham and Holly’s story.

I was eager to get my hands on an advance copy of this book because of a recent “ah ha!” moment. Banks' work truly gets more exceptional with each subsequent publication! This one didn’t disappoint and, in fact, far exceeded my expectations. Should Banks decide to fully immerse himself in the rom-com genre, he’s well on the way with this one. With a ridiculous amount of laugh-out-loud moments, a homey, entertaining setting and so much heart and emotion in the main characters, I couldn’t help but love it! Graham and Holly are both so multi-layered, complex and just enough damaged that I was in instalove, but what really appeals to me is the way they help each other grow and learn from one another. This one really has all the elements – a well plotted and unique storyline, carefully crafted characters, a huge dose of humor, poignant and thought-provoking elements, and tons of emotion. Perfect for the holiday season, don’t miss this delightful, evocative, fresh, hilarious, feel-good read!

"Suspenseful, heartwarming and... incredible hilarious! The greatest Christmas holiday Surprise ever happened before!!"

"I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review."

Less to say that, this is the third book I have the pleasure to read by this author and I'm totally in love with his writing style. His stories are absolutely stunning and his humor...well, his humor doesn't have limits. I can only imagine how he would possibly be in person, while having dinner or few drinks in a bar with him as a companion. Just a small thought....simple amazing!

Christmas Surprise is by far my favorite one of the three. Firstly, because I had the pleasure to see together all the heroes from the other two books I already have read plus two new hero. Two very special ones actually! Secondly, because I liked and loved Graham's and Holly's story so much. Third, because the plot this time was utterly atmospheric and amusing. Whiskey Hollow became my favorite place to visit, despite of its luck not being in the world map yet. Old fashioned and simple is the best town to get lost into and find the peace and...love you are looking for. As for its residents, with their unusual attitudes and customs, well, they were all so easy to like and get along with. As I said, the best place to be!

Holly and Graham have the pleasure to learn about Whiskey Hollow after the train, they were on board, had a breakdown. After their first encounter which was very unusual, they ended together on a track, driven by Boom Boom, a resident of Hollow, who was taking them to the only motel in his town, Hollow Day Inn. Their stay there has been followed by countless, interesting circumstances. Some silly, some admirable and some utterly hilarious unfolding at the same time the unique characters of the heroes and revealing the beauty they have inside them.

I fell in love with Holly; she is stubborn whereas a very vulnerable, caring and loving woman. Graham was a mystery at the beginning but quickly he revealed his strong commitment and loyalty to the people he cares for; a man with high values is always admirable. One of the best parts in the story, is the moments with Boom Boom, Cletus, Billybob and Graham. Their interactions are one of the kind and definitely award winning! When I read his books is like I live them along with the heroes. Is like my best friend narrates his personal experiences of a travel or a holiday while we catch up for a coffee or a beer. It's an amazing experience and I'm keen on keep reading any new book he is releasing.

I hope I intrigue your imagination and made you grab the book yourselves and find out what's really happening because there is no way to tell you myself.

Until next time, enjoy your free time reading great books with the most unforgettable stories.

Is this a romance book or a book about a town

Once again your book title was misleading ..I wonder do you like relationships where people argue all the time or do you like people who meet for the first time to argue ..This book was mostly about a town once again and the act like they hated each other ..how come you just write about the town and the people in the town and don’t add anything about romance because if this is romance or people falling for each other they shouldn’t be relationships by your writing and don’t add kids also because just beginning you talk about the child and almost to the end ...Horrible horrible horrible ...IM GOING TO REMEMBER YOU NAME SO I DONT READ ANY OF YOUR BOOK ANYMORE ...I WAISTED MY TIME ONCE AGAIN😡😡😡😤😤😤

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. i enjoyed this book. we meet Holly...down and out since her bf of 5 yrs had split. she is out with her bff for a tree light ceremony only to see her ex with his new bottled blonde. she makes the decision to go on the cruise that her ex bought for them just to get away from Xmas. not able to find a flight, Holly braves the train...big mistake. things seem to go from bad to worse. Graham, billionaire who was hoping to have his son and ex wife there for xmas learns that they are not coming so he decides to go to them and the train is the best way to travel. of course he can afford a cabin and when returning from the bar, a leggy woman exits his washroom...interesting. the next thing he knows the train stops and boom...everyone has to get off. only him and the leggy washroom are left without a ride to the nearest stop. of course a local with a tractor offer them a ride. Holly of course manages to get the last room...HA on graham! winter is upon the town they are both stuck on and decide to make the most of it. holly feels bad that graham slept in the lobby and invites to share the room with her. of course they are getting closer and holly gives up her V-card for the handsome billionaire. They both manage to get out of the middle of nowhere and Graham sets his sights on his son. Holly decides to continue wit her cruise..eventho she has feelings for graham and doesnt want to go...but what else can she do. Graham wants her to stay and so does his son, but can he ask that of her? will graham get to Holly in time?

Stars: 4 (out of 5) for overall story
Chilies: 3(out of 5) for heat between the sheets/or anywhere else
Chapters: 20 + Epilogue
Ending: No cliffhangers, No cheating, HEA

Review: Cute, hilarious, small town charms, steamy scenes and a great Christmas story. Shh…here’s a hint…the Christmas Surprise isn’t what you think it is! That helped didn’t it? :D

I have to be honest, in the beginning I found Holly’s attitude went from funny sarcasm to flat out b*tchy. I didn’t feel there was enough reason for her to act the way she did and I was originally turned off. Not to mention I found Graham, at the beginning to be weak…hell through most of the story I found his personality weak (except when it came to his son, Charlie). But at the time progresses and they meet the small down folks (God I love Boom Boom, Cletus and BillyBob), both Holly and Graham seemed to not only find each other…but themselves. By the end of the story, I fell in love the people of Whiskey Hollow as well as Holly, Graham and Charlie.

This story is a perfect read for this holiday season!

ARC read in exchange for honest review.

The Christmas Surprise is a quirky and fun holiday romance. Holly has lost her Christmas spirit and plans to run away for the holidays. Graham wants to spend the holidays with his son and will do whatever it takes to make his Christmas perfect. While heading to their Christmas destinations Graham and Holly's paths cross in an unexpected way. They both end up stuck in Whiskey Hollow where the townspeople take them in and set about making their Christmas memorable. I loved revisiting Whiskey Hollow in this book and catching up with characters I love and meeting new ones. Some scenes had me laughing out loud at the extremes the townspeople went to help Graham and Holly see what was visible to everyone else. The Christmas Surprise is definitely one of my new favorite, feel good holiday reads.

Way to go Whiskey Hollow! Once again this quirky town has managed to change lives, open eyes, and make you believe in friendship, trust, and love - I I'm not just talking about the characters in the story! Holly and Graham did not know what they were getting themselves into but boy is an experience!
Although Holly is the Grinch and Scrooge rolled into one, you could see there is more to her story. Graham's love for his son shines through, but he also seems a bit out of touch - with his son, with his own needs. These two clash from the get go, but it makes for some hilarious scenarios and "competitions".
I enjoyed "travelling" with this couple, seeing Whiskey Hollow through their eyes, and having them reach their true destination.

I will continue to read books written by RR Banks because this is the second one I have read and loved! Pick it up and get lost in a great Christmas miracle.

I love R.R. Banks books and having him come out with a Christmas story is a cherry on top.
Holly wants nothing to do with Christmas. I mean she is at the point where she even hates her name because people think she was named for the holiday. So she just wants to get to her cruise and be on her way in peace and quiet for the holidays. But the only way she can make it is to take the train to the destination city.
Graham loves the holidays and wants to see his 5-year-old son for the holidays. His ex-wife makes life very hard for this to happen. So he decides to go them for the week. But he does not fly, so on the train, he goes.
When these two meet it does not go well. They just rub each other wrong on so many levels that it is just funny. But eventually, it just becomes cute.
This is a well-written story of course. If you have never read R.R. Banks this is a great one to start with. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

This was a fun read about 2 very annoying people who get stuck together in a small town during Christmas. I just loved how they interacted with each other and how while riling each other they both also complimented each other as well. The scene about running to get to the reception first for the key was hilarious and left me giggling for ages. You will not help but fall in love not just with Holly and Graham but everyone else from Whiskey Hollow and I just want to go there too now!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday themed story that I would classify as a romantic comedy. It's a romantic tale, to be sure, with the beauty of two slightly dented souls finding what they need, but arent looking for, in each other and helped along by the magic and chaos of the season. And, in true R.R. Banks style, there are also lighter, funny-to-down-right-hysterical scenes that provide a counterpoint to the stronger emotions. I lost count of how many times I giggled out loud in sheer delight of the characters and their inspired antics. I also particularly enjoyed the subtle homages to seasonal classics sprinkled throughout.

Basically, this was a beautiful, and fun, story about the power of love, trusting the heart, and occasionally allowing the magic of a snow covered Christmas to sweep you up and carry you away.

So double highfives to you, Mr. Banks, as you have once again impressed me!

Holly, the female protagonist, was going through a rather rough patch in her life that led her to go on a getaway during the Christmas season. Due to said rough patch her character in the beginning of the book was sort of jaded and lashed out a bit. I wasnt, to be honest, sure I liked her at first, but she surprised me with some dang smart self-awareness and an inner strength to just keep going and deal with what life tossed at her. She evolved, or probably more accurately, healed, and became a character I loved and rooted for. I think you will, too.

Graham, the male lead, was a very wealthy and divorced father to a charming five year old boy. I mention his wealth only because of how generous he was with it; a very fitting statement for the holidays that was mentioned in passing but not dwelled upon, and I liked that. His character was strong and determined once he set a course, but not so set in his ways that he couldnt see when his intended plans could be better with a course correction. I liked, and laughed, at some of his idiosyncrasies and enjoyed watching him roll with the punches that crept up. I rooted for him, too. A lot.

Holly and Graham ended up on the same train that broke down in the middle of nowhere, whereupon their journey, both romantic and comedic, started in earnest. I laughed at and with these two; I scolded them; I cheered them on; and I fell in love with them completely. I loved Graham's firm belief in the magic and wonder of the holidays and how much he wanted to share that. I loved Holly's insight and willingness to unbend. In fact, I just plain loved this book that is sure to become a holiday classic I reread every winter season; it made me feel that cheerful, happy, and joyous.

We got to revisit beloved old friends from previous books, but dont worry if you havent read them yet, this is a stand alone book. The supporting characters were amazing and deserve a stronger title than that. They didnt just support, they helped bring the magic. The pace was perfect; not too slow, not too fast. The details, as always, made the book; and R.R. Banks reminded us that nobody can spin a yarn quite like he can. (Especially a holiday yarn)

I cant encourage you enough to dive headfirst into this heart-warming, feel-good seasonal adventure. And I have to say, I love that cover, those trees are beautiful ;-)

I was a little on the fence of this book, I had read Accademtil Daddy and pretty much hated it and I am glad I did not let that cloud my decision to read this because I would have missed out big time, this book was so funny and so good.

Holly, I could connect with we have the same name and I got her feelings on the jokes and play on the name especially during the holiday. I really liked this character she was strong, funny, and a little devious but had a good heart. I felt bad by how her boyfriend left her but loved when she told him what for at the start of the book this pretty much lays out the fun crazy ride that is this story. Graham was also an interesting character he was confusing both powerful and demanding but also a sweetheart especially in his joy of Christmas. I thought the back and forth between Holly and Graham was fun it was not instant love in the first five minutes it was quick but longer compared with most of these books. I also liked that Holly was over 21 and had her own life established one she keeps in the end.

I fell in love with Whisky Hollow in this book, in the previous book I did not get the town the way I did in this one. Boom Boom was amazing, all of them where amazing I was laughing through the entire book it was so much crazy that at its heart was really sweet, I am willing to go back and read Rue and Richards story after this because I have hope it will be just as good. There were some issues with the book you need to suspend your idea of reality with this book and just go with it about half of this book is impossible but it works as a fun fantasy. I thought that the instant bond between Holly and Charlie was a bit much this could have grown a little instead of right off the bat they love each other. Holly and her virginity was another issue I had there is no way after five years with her boyfriends they did nothing I could not buy it and I do not understand why so many of these books focused on virginity so much probably because most of the girls are 18 in them but honestly I think that this trend needs to go.

I think this would make a wonderful Hallmark movie honestly with a bit of editing because there are some steamy scenes. I really did enjoy this book it was good for an afternoon escape I did not read the extra books as they had been in another and the Snow and the seven hunks simply was not my speed. Read this book you will be happy you did.

This is such an awesome story by R.R. Banks,,,, in all the books I've read, I've never been let down,,,

This is the story about Holly Abbot,,, Holly has just broken up with her boyfriend of like several years and is complaining to her best friend Vera about the Christmas season coming up very soon and how she hates Christmas, and how she would rather be somewhere warm, getting a tan and drinking drinks with umbrellas in them, then to sit alone in her apartment the whole time,,, and then she thinks about it,,, digs in her bedroom drawer and found the tickets for the cruise that she and Ben were going to take together and since he is already showing his new arm candy out in town, she will just take the cruise on her own,,, one problem,,,, he never booked a flight,,, she called all the airlines that could get her there and nothing,,, so she had to take the train,,,, she so did not want to do that,,,,and then she met him,,,,,,

His name is Graham Castle and he is going to see his son for Christmas, his ex-wife, Brandy and 5y.o. son, Charlie were suppose to fly to his place for Christmas per their custody agreement and she had told him that they couldnt make it again,,, even though he kept sending plane tickets,,, and he figures maybe one of these times she will see her error in leaving him and when they are together as a family, she will see it's right,,, but, she again, is not coming nor sending Charlie and if he wants to see his son, it's up to him to come to Brandy's house,,, and being a billionaire, he certainly has the money, and generally loves to take the train,,, he called ahead and reserved a sleeper car,,, a nice relaxing overnight train ride will do him some good,,, some rest, relaxation and some reading and he will see Charlie before he knows it,,, except, he has a small run in with Holly, on the train,,,,and after that,,,,,,

Ok,, that's all the farther I am telling you,,, this book is an adventure and a half,,,, and if you think you know where this story is going,,,, you'd best think again,,, plenty of hatred and conniving, some steamy moments and that did not include the hot chocolate they had to drink,,,, you should go grab this Christmas adventure,,,, you can't miss,,,, !!!

I got this ARC and voluntarily left my review.....

And what a surprise you're going to find between the covers of this wonderfully entertaining story. Holly [and NO, she wasn't born at Christmas but you'll have to read the story to find out why she is named that -just don't ask her why!] hates Christmas, She has no contact with her warring parents who were too wrapped up in their war with each other to bother with their only child. Her boyfriend of five years dumps her saying he needs space and the next time she sees him he is out with a leggy blonde woman. So she gets mad and finds the ticket he had bought for them to go on a cruise together at Christmas and decides to go on her own. Meanwhile, Graham is a multi billionaire who loves his son, Charlie, beyond words and will do anything for him at all. But his vicious ex wife has moved away with Charlie so that he hardly ever sees Charlie which breaks his heart. He is determined to spend Christmas with his son even if it means getting back with the ex. But plans can go awry and they certainly do for these two. They end up, because of bad weather and all transport being seasonally busy, travelling on the same train that encounters a problem and this is when they meet. They are taken by a very likeable character to Whisky Hollow and for those of you who read and loved Accidental Daddy by R.R. Banks then you will know it's quite a unique town with the most wonderful quirky people. This is where their HEA is going to blossom. I had laugh out loud moments reading this delightful story. R.R. Banks really knows how to capture the attention of his readers and keep them fixated to the book until you've finished it [don't forget that there are two bonus books in there for a limited time that you will want to read too!]. beautifully written with interesting and 3-dimensional characters. Graham is such a wonderful caring man [just wait till they meet Coy in the post office] who cares and loves passionately and makes time for everyone. A real page turner that, if you haven't read any of his books before you will be converted and want to read all of the rest of his stories. This is a book that I will be re-reading and so will be buying so I have a copy for myself. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED.

I VERY MUCH want to support any male authors in the "Romance" genre. I read 100-150 books in this space each year (I never watch TV), and I appreciate a man's perspective, if, for no other reason, than to provide some diversity of opinion and style.

But, Jeezus, this was a strange book!

A recently jilted Holly meets divorced Graham on a train ride to her upcoming cruise origination point. The train becomes snowed-in forcing Holly and Graham to share the last remaining hotel room in a remote backwoods town called Whiskey Hollow (which I affectionately began mentally referring to as "Hoot-n-Hollow").

An odd juxtaposition of the 1990’s television series “Northern Exposure” and Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery”, Whiskey Hollow, and its inhabitants, quickly become the focus of the story. Stereotypically redneck, its citizens are caricatures of country people, with predictable roles we’ve seen before, almost to the point of using the term ‘small town’ as a pejorative.

Holly is an argumentative, deceptive, unlikable character, whose most described personality quirk is her eagerness to eat. Graham comes across as attractive, endlessly patient, generous, and in control, meaning, the two seem to have nothing in common.

The main characters fight and disagree with each other right up to the point where they fall into insta-love. The hard swerve is jarring to the reader, as there’s no development of their romance, and no progression to the point of being able to envision them together.

The fast transition to their relationship is understandable, given that the majority of the book is dedicated to detailed descriptions of eccentric townsfolk, their odd behaviorisms, and their endless, rambling tales of woe . . . which have nothing to do with the story.

On the positive side, Graham and Holly’s intimate scenes are wonderfully written. They achieve a rare balance of sexiness with a gentle and sensitive depiction of the characters’ feelings towards each other. Very well done. In most romances, contemporary authors lean too much on the coarse language and vulgar activities of the participants, which really take away from the ‘romance’ they intend to project.

If this author could focus on the relationship of the couple, their progression towards romantic feelings for each other, and the likableness of the characters, while leaving any backstory in the background, he could be something really special.

Graham was trying to make it to see his son by Christmas and he never flies so he is on a train to travel to his son. Holly has been dumped by her long term boyfriend and has decided to take the cruise trip he booked for them and treat Christmas like the Kranks. When Graham and Holly meet she's just coming from his sleeper car using his bathroom. The attraction between them sparked as they sparred back and for the every time they ran into each other. Then when the trains stops and the only help leads them to Whiskey Holler. They rush into the only place to get a room where Holly manages to get it and Graham is left without a room so he tries to leave town by foot only to be accosted my a turkey. The next morning has both Holly and Graham back at Whiskey Holler and in yet another crazy escapade to secure a room. The quirky residents of this little town take an instant liking to both Holly and Graham. They end up watching a movie together at the town movie theatre and things change more to an intimate thing between them. However can Graham get Holly over her Scrooge like behavior and to enjoy the holidays?

This story will have you in tears from laughing so hard. I love this little town in these books. Graham wants to do right by his son in this story and nothing goes his way which works out in the end. Because without all of the delays he wouldn't have gotten to know Holly. Holly is disillusioned with the holidays and men so she's decided to say screwed and go on a cruise. Nothing seems like it is going as it should for either of them and then bang they meet and everything changes. This is my favorite holiday book of the season as of yet. If you haven't read anything by this author than you are truly missing out. I can't wait to see what is next because this one is a five star hit for me. Amazing story and amazing characters.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Holly doesn't want to celebrate Christmas this year. She was dumped by her long-time boyfriend at Thanksgiving meal with his family and her holiday spirit is gone. Since her best friend won't be around on Christmas and Holly hasn't seen her parents for years, Holly decides to take the cruise that she and her former boyfriend bought tickets for. The problem is that he didn't arrange transportation to the cruise port. Since it is the holidays, all the flights are booked so Holly has to take a train. The train is overcrowded and Holly has multiple run-ins with Graham. Then the worst thing happens and their train breaks down, leaving them stranded in Whisky Hollow. Now she is truly surrounded with unusual characters filled with the spirit of Christmas.
Graham has always loved Christmas. He was especially looking forward to spending the holiday with his ex-wife and son who he hasn't seen more than once since his wife moved back to her hometown. He even has dreams of reuniting with his wife so his son will have an intact family for Christmas. When his wife cancels her trip to visit him, Graham decides to go to her riding on a train since he is afraid to fly. Graham is a rich business man who likes things just so. His frequent run-ins with Holly get under his skin. When they find themselves stranded in Whisky Hollow, Graham makes the best of things. Spending more time with Holly makes him wonder if fixing things up with his ex is what he truly wants.
I really enjoy the people of Whisky Hollow. They are good hearted people who are definitely unique. The town makes a great backdrop for Graham and Holly's romance. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Overall this was a cute short Christmas story. (I only read the first story, there were several included in the book)
I liked the premise of the story, strangers who become friends then lovers. I absolutely loved the townspeople and the small town they were stranded in. For me, these mountain folk were the best part of the story. Absolutely hilarious.
Unfortunately I finished the book scratching my head with more questions than answers.
I get that Holly was hurt by the break up with her longtime boyfriend, I didn’t understand her snark and anger towards literally everyone. It was over the top and unnecessary. Personally I think her boyfriend showed a lot of patience staying with her as long as he did considering the lack of bedroom activity.
I also understand Graham wanting the best for his five year old son. But his “plan” seemed ridiculous. He’s supposedly this smart businessman but can’t see any flaw in his own plan.
Part of what bothered me was a personal preference of mine. I like to know where a story takes place. I had no clue where these two started out, where they were going or even which direction the train was heading when it broke down. I had no clue what either of them did for a living. I was also confused about this small town, it was obviously a mountain town, they were written to sound like Southerners but were not unaccustomed to feet of snow falling at Christmas time?
I think some things could have been shortened or even omitted (the recipes, the long drawn out town stories, BillyBob’s disappearance story) in favor of more details and backstory for our main characters.
There was a lot of push and pull with these characters. Hateful lust if you will. It was a cute story told from dual points of view. It does have a happy ending.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Graham, a very wealthy divorced father to a charming 5y old boy. Generous, strong and determined (if he wants something, he will get it).
Holly lost the Christmas magic when she learned she couldn’t depend on her parents when che was alot younger.
She's decided to skip Christmas and go on a cruise, deciding on taking the train to the cruise ship port, as the train broke down in the middle of nowhere, she has a few less than enticing encounters with Graham, a fellow passenger. Due to unfortunate events, they find themselves stranded in small town America for the duration. It's where Graham's & Holly begins their journey, both romantic, comedic, started in earnest.
Their friends didn't just support, they helped bring the magic. The pace was perfect and the book is very detailled.
2 kind of broken souls finding what they need, but didn't looked for, helping both along the magic & stuff in this x-mas season. Graham and Holly are so multi-layered, complex & damaged, but they help each other grow and learn. Poignant & very Emotional, Some funny&hysterical scenes, Beautiful, fun, love, trusting, inpressif.
Thanks again for your works who truly more exceptional with each books! I totally enjoyed this holiday romantic themed story. It's far exceeded my expectations. With homey, entertaining setting, Perfect for the holiday season !!! Don’t miss this book, feels-good read!

Well, Holly. I know you really don’t like Christmas, but it looks like you’ve landed right in the middle of it anyway-- complete with a train… (okay, that’s a stretch) and lots of snow. And Graham.
Don’t look at me like that! If you just stop arguing with him for a minute or ten, you might just find out he’s the best Christmas present you ever got.

And Graham, your little boy Charlie means more to you than anything, but he’s so far away… You thought that maybe at Christmas you’d have a chance to mend things and put your family back together…
But here you are, stuck in the back of beyond with an antagonistic redhead-- well, she is kind of cute. Challenging, but cute…

Whiskey Hollow is at it again, working its strangely wonderful, quixotic magic on the unsuspecting heart. And you are drawn in before you know it. Enchanted, and laughing all the way.

And it’s a good thing that the good hearted, if somewhat quirky, people of the town generate a great deal of magic because it’s gonna take a lot to get Graham and Holly to declare a truce for Christmas.
But, wait!! Something seems to be happening here. Are you working in tandem? And you’ve stolen Santa’s letters.
Tell me it isn’t true!

This book was so much fun, I want to go back and read it over again. I laughed til I cried. And Graham and Holly are definitely on my Christmas list.

When Graham comes home the last thing he expected was to find a letter addressed to Santa but one part of the letter he was happy to help with. To bring Aunt Sara a man. Sara was his tenant that lived next door and Graham never associated with his tenants but when he walked over to return the letter he changed his mind on not associating with a certain tenant. Sara works at a local school and she loves her work now if she could just get over her trust issues and find a man her life would be great. Embarrassed by what her niece had done Sara couldn't believe it when Graham asked her out. Just as they start to date things take a turn and Sara gets evicted without ever knowing that Graham was her land lord. Graham feels bad about what he had to do and tries to make up for it by letting her stay at his cabin rent free. One weekend snow storm leaves them snowed in and one things leads to another and they sleep together. Graham has reasons for what he did but will Sara listen to him? Can their relationship survive this deception?

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one setting because I couldn't put it down. The characters have great chemistry and the story was well written. If you want to read a story to get you in the Christmas spirit then this book will be the pick for you.

I voluntarily read this book for review.

Two Souls whose plans for Christmas take an unexpected turn.
Holly is sassy, sarcastic, and absolutely hates christmas, she has never known what true christmas is or what love is like. Growing up was hard and she had learned to close herself off from others. To make matters worse her train ride to paradise gets delayed and she's stuck with an irritable man in a place full of weird, crazy people.
Graham is a man full of christmas spirit, and kindness. He is also controlling, stubborn, and doesn't like to admit when his wrong. He has a plan for this christmas, and has hope that he can pull it off. However being stuck with a beautiful, yet hard headed, woman was never part of it, now his re-thinking his plan, but will he have enough Christmas miracles, as well as spirit, to be able to break down Holly's walls, face his ultimate fear, and see his son?
Read to find out! Within this story Banks takes us back to Whiskey Hollows and its amazing people! Can't wait to see what else Banks has in store for us!!
