Six foot three. Dynamic green eyes. Utterly irresistible.

Ethan Everest stole my breath the first time I saw him. He romanced me with skill, dazzled me with his charisma, and proceeded to steal my heart right after.

I might have fallen for his easy-going smile the first time we met, but I fell for him the second time.

Honey-colored hair. Cherry-kissed lips. Captivatingly gorgeous.

Singer Davis was the first, and only, woman to ever intimidate me. She spoke to my heart with her wit, seduced me with her eyes, and became the only thing that made sense in a world that made none.

I let her slip through my fingers once. I won’t make that mistake twice.

Secrets broke us apart. Can a second chance bring us back together?

descriptionI enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. I found it to be very well written. The pace was OK. The first half of this book was S-L-O-W for me. Part of the reason for that was my irritation with the hero and his indecisiveness. That said, the plot was still very engaging and kept me turning the pages and the second half kicked up the pace quite a bit. There was a nice bit of suspense that came into play in the second half as well and that added an extra layer of intrigue to the story. There was also an incident that made me cry (OMG did I cry), and I'll be honest I am still not sure how I feel about it. I get the purpose it served, but I would have rather it hadn't had happened. I wouldn't say this was overly angsty and there was no OM drama. There was some OW drama, but it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. This was a bit of a slow burn with the first sex scenes coming in at 50%. When we do get some action, the scenes were suitably hot. There was a good cast of secondary characters. I loved Singer's BFF, and I ADORED Aaron, Lars, and Frank. They all need to get books of their own.

description

The main characters were OK. I can't say I liked this hero very much for the first half of the book. He came across flighty, wishy-washy and easily distracted. He waxes poetically about how much he wants Singer and the connection he feels for her at a party, but then he let another woman pull him away from her and then goes on to date said OW. And it's not like she disappeared into thin air. It's mentioned they saw each other several times over the course of the year because they run in the same circles. When they meet up again a year later he is so hot and cold and back and forth. It drove me nuts. I wanted him to grow a f-ing pair of balls and man up. We are also never given a legit reason to why he just walked away from the connection in the first place. All he really says is "the bubble popped and the moment had passed." Seriously dude?? I think had the author used a lighter hand with his feelings for Singer when he meets her at the beginning I would have had an easier time understanding how he turned and walked away. I will say though that once he got his head out of his ass (around 50%) he became a fantastic hero I adored quite a bit. Singer I loved right from the start. She was honest and open. Was a great friend and wore her heart on her sleeve. The first half of this book I wanted her to stop letting Ethan jerk her around with his hot and cold act. But that is about the only negative thing I can say about her. She was a great heroine. Last, this was all wrapped up in a sweet ending that brought things full circle and left me with a smile on my face.

So yea, I was a little nervous going into this one after reading a couple of reviews, but I ended up enjoying it a lot. I think the first half of the book could have been condensed a little (it was quite a long book) and that would have helped it pace-wise, but yours truly is giving this one a solid two thumbs up and I look forward to reading more by this author.description

What I found funny was that ever since I started blogging, I’ve been promoting this author’s work but never actually read it. So I decided that now was the time to make things official. And I’m glad I did. I enjoyed this book a heck of a lot more than I thought I would considering how slow it started.

Yeah, that’s a pretty good representation of the pace of this storyline. It was slow for the most part and I was thrilled when it took off. It was like a hidden surprise or something. I really liked how the author worked in a suspense plot. It was completely unexpected and I had absolutely no idea who was behind the treacherous acts.

Back to the characters… Ethan Everest was hard to get to know. A year ago the main characters met on a fire escape at a party. After an almost-kiss that wasn’t meant to be, Ethan’s life made a turn for the worse. He took the easy over the compelling. He went with the familiar rather than the intriguing and unknown. So the connection that he shared with Singer went by the wayside. A year later, they’ve been in the same place at the same time on many occasions, and finally Ethan takes the step to really introduce himself to Singer. However, his life isn’t the way he needs it to be to be with her. He’s not the same guy she met a year ago. He was a man holding secrets pretty close to his chest and he kept sending out mixed signals to poor Singer. Luckily she was so far gone in her infatuation with him that she wasn’t going anywhere. She took what she could get.

Singer was a sweetheart. She had a huge heart and wanted everyone to be happy, including herself. She had big dreams of making something of herself in NY and although they hadn’t come to pass yet, she wasn’t willing to give up. It was easy for her to fall in love with Ethan and he with her because they were both characters easy to fall for.

So now that I’m done with this story, will I continue to promote S.L. Scott’s work? Heck yes! I enjoyed this story a lot and I believe that other fans of romantic suspense and true love will be entertained by it as well. I look forward to the next book of hers I can get my hands on ;)

Fame, Achievement, Vast Wealth... They may all seem like winning the Lottery Ticket to Life's Dreams. And in many ways they are...but there is also another side that comes with those experiences... and many of them are not all they are cracked up to be...

Now I know first instinct may be... hey, I will take whatever comes with all that and deal... because it must be so much better than not having them...and Yes, there is no denying Life Is Much Easier with Financial Security. However, there can be a downside to being this Entity... this known person and in Everest, we are given firsthand how this can impact a person's life.

We first meet Everest as a guy who has the world on a string... He developed a Social Media Network...Shades of Facebook, maybe and over the course of the years he worked it, grew it to become profitable and now at 26, he is a billionaire. He is this presence, a man who enters the room and without knowing anything about him, you would be drawn to him.

Everest has not been the most guarded, relying on his close friends who knew him Before... those he can trust. He still has a free and easy way... with the enjoyment of women who are thrilled to have only a look or touch by him. We are first at a party in the Bronx where Everest and his best friends are surveying the crowd.

There Everest is caught with a vision, a woman who is nothing like all the others... She sits on a futon, unassuming and taking in her surroundings. She wears a sweet blue dress with red lipstick calling to him. There is something about her... she is an innocent in this sea of others...others ready for a quickie in a bathroom or a try to snag the brass ring with a billionaire...

But not her...

Singer Davis can remember all about that night at the party when she first saw Everest. She had been there only because her best friend brought her and it really wasn't her thing. She had seen this hunk of a man looking and she looked back a few times... She decided to get out of the room and took the idea of sitting on the fire escape as the way to figure out if she should stay any longer.

Everest comes out and sits right next to Singer. He is intrigued and deep down feels she is a person who doesn't want anything of him because of "Who He Is"...He feels he could have a real conversation with her and as they start to talk to each other... he realizes he is right...

It only was a few moments, a sharing of beer and conversation...Somehow her seeing how happy and confident he is... causes interest in the brief the time with him. He is warm, charming and true... but there is this thing, this more...and a moment happens...

A serious moment where they connect so strongly. Without any words, he leans in, is about to risk it all and kiss her...

But it never happens...

Instead, he is whisked away by the model who was the draw of the night, the shiny object of everyone's desires...and Singer's and Everest's moment is lost...But never forgotten by either of them.

A year goes by... And a lot can happen in a year. Everest learned some very hard life lessons. He is fighting the good fight but it is not over...he is still deep in the mix. The lessons have taught him not to trust as everything is not as it seems...It has caused him to do things differently, live differently and it has taken a toll on the man...He is alone.

Singer and her friend, Melanie, have seen Everest over the last year here and there...but there has been no contact. They are at a bar and both see Everest. The friend teases Singer and Singer does that sweet blush. Singer only has wistful thoughts of that moment out on the fire escape.

But now Everest is walking towards her after a year of sightings...plunks down next to Singer and says Hey...Mentions he thinks they should hang out... Stunned, Singer just nods and Melanie pushes hard for Everest to commit to a Sunday afternoon meeting in the park.

Huh????

This is the start which will grab you and not let you go if you let it. This story is current with all of the references to what happens when the playing field of business and betrayal is clear. It shows how everything can have an impact that was not intended; how things can be manipulated.

But it also gives us two main characters who are meant to be together It is their second chance, the first woefully interrupted. I loved both of them and the power of self by Singer; her goodness and understanding of love did it for me. Her love of her friend and the support each gave to each other was beautiful. These characters were not drawn in crayon... but cared for and felt from the start. Singer is a very special and it is easy to love and admire her. She sees the good and is a glass half full person.

Everest is a man who has been hurt and needs to power through and let go with Singer. Their chemistry - off the charts and the swoony parts <333

This story has many layers and you are there in the moment through it all. There are many secondary characters who, when on the page, do not feel secondary at all... I couldn't stop reading this and even when I suspected outcomes, I didn't care because I was so invested. I lost sleep but it was worth it for me.

Take the time, follow this tale and you will have a love journey.

Ethan Everest walks into a house party and is instantly taken by the beauty across the room. After some eye flirting and asking people about her, he finds out her name is Singer. When he sees her alone on a fire escape, he makes his move and is hoping for something more than just a night. But when he’s pulled away by another woman, a year passes before Singer and Ethan speak again, and he finally takes the plunge… well, sort of.

I liked so much about this book: it’s beautifully written, there’s enough steam without over doing it, and it really brings out every emotion possible. But there was something about it that kept me from connecting with the characters.
Here’s my problem with this story: “You’re the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen, but it was deeper with you from the minute I saw you. I felt a connection, something real.”

So, Ethan’s obsessed with Singer the moment he sees her, yet when he’s two seconds away from kissing her, another woman pulls him away and back to the party. Instead of trying to find Singer after that, or asking for her number before returning to the oh so important task of talking to his best friend, he instead decides to date the woman, Dariya, that had pulled him away. For several months. After all of his determination to have Singer, his obvious desire to claim her, the romantic words he spoke freely… to just turn away from that and hook up with some other hot chick, I just couldn’t invest in Ethan as an honest guy or a worthy hero. So all of his charm, his poetic words to woo Singer whilst still pushing her away… it didn’t match his actions and I just couldn’t feel he was genuine.

The first half of the story moved slowly and I wasn’t sure where the plot was going, but it did eventually pick up and the tears did flow. There were some inconsistencies with the timeline that didn't match up, (he met Singer a year ago but tells her he just moved to the city 8 months ago) which kinda bugged me. I really wanted to like this story, and to an extent, I did. I just couldn’t get past the fact that Ethan makes a stupendously stupid and questionable decision, and Singer never once questioned it. No, he didn’t owe any loyalty to her, he barely knew her. But the entire book I kept wondering and waiting to see if he was strong enough to fight for Singer if necessary, or if he was just going to give up and settle for someone else. I doubted him every step of the way.

If I’m at a dessert buffet and I'm only allowed ONE choice, and the cheesecake has just run out but will soon be replenished, I’m not going to turn around and scarf down some second-rate dessert and waste my chance. I’m waiting for that cheesecake, and if there’s a line, I’m certainly fighting for it.

I just really wished Ethan had waited for his cheesecake.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Moving this to my NOPE shelf. Can’t connect with a hero who after meets the heroine and almost kissed her, got pulled away by ow and even started dating the ow etc etc etc. All in this review.
So many books lately with weak characters

And there’s nothing worse and irritating to me as an insecure woman with low self esteem who compares herself to other women thinking they don’t have the same worthy because of looks. Pitiful. The excerpt in this review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

**There are spoilers so don’t read if you don’t want to see my rant*
So once again I am the odd ball. I really did not like this at all, in fact not one bit. I don’t know if I am in a book funk or what but I really did not like one thing about this - not one thing. Everest was so all over the place I just couldn’t stand him. He sees Singer at a party and is just drawn to her. He knows she is not like the other woman he had relations with and it quite smitten with her. So what does Everest do when suddenly interrupted while almost kissing Singer by a bitchy model (that he had no interest in prior to speaking with Singer mind you) who he then proceeds to date, RATHER than just staying with Singer? This made no fricken sense whatsoever. If that isn’t fucked up enough this crazy bitch causes him nothing but a ton of drama., and slander- Which the asshole deserves for dating her instead of Singer)..THEN about a year later asks Singer out to spend time with her to tell her he can’t date her. Does this man have multiple personalities?! What the ever loving fuck?! As you can see the more I write here about the ridiculousness of this book the more pissed off I am becoming. I would have liked Singer but she just seemed weak to me. If anyone, and I don’t care who the frig it was treated me that hot and cold I would be walking backwards with both hands flipping that son of a bitch off. This just drove me up a wall. I ended up skimming because I was getting so pissed. I was hoping there would be a part that was “oh! Okay everything makes sense” NOPE.

Everest was my third book by S.L. Scott and this is by far my favorite now!

"That man. He’s affecting my head and my heart. That only means one thing—Trouble."

I really don't know where to begin. Maybe with saying that Ethan Everest is the most perfect book-boyfriend I've met since I'm addicted to reading romance books. I fell for him like he fell for Singer: as soon as he first laid eyes on her. I've noticed throughout the whole book: This man seriously seems to have no flaws. Ethan is kind, attentive, charming, caring, smart and with a good sense of humor. In addition to that he's very protective of what he loves. He puts himself last when he should be putting himself first and buries his feelings only that others can come first. Ethan is confident and he owns every room or place he enters with so much ease it's almost unbelievable.
The fact, that he's ridiculously handsome and rich, that's only the cherry on top. And I would love him even if he wasn't. It was so easy to see him the way Singer sees him: Prince Charming par excellence!
If I could put together the man of my dreams, I would pick Ethan right out of this book.

"But there’s something about Singer. She’s in a league of her own, and she doesn’t even realize it."

Singer is also one perfect heroine herself. She's beautiful inside out and seeing her through Ethan's eyes is great experience. She is strong minded and independent. Singer cares deeply and loves freely. She's trusting, trustworthy and loyal to the bone. But she's also a dreamer with her head in the clouds and her feet firmly on the ground. She's hopelessly romantic and a strong believer. If Singer enters a room she shines like the sun and everyone is automatically drawn to her but she's totally oblivious to this fact.
I saw myself in her so easily.

“Like the hours, it’s not about the minutes that make them up, but the moments that make them memorable.” - This quote describes the message of this book perfectly. Ethan's and Singer's story shows us how our decisions in life influence our present and future. How valuable time is. That it is important to follow your heart on a way that leads you to being happy with the people you love. Dream big and don't be afraid to go for your dream. And yes, trust doesn't comes easily and it shouldn't and you should always be aware that trust can be broken more easily than it's built. But to trust is essential and can be even more rewarding.

"But her outlook on life, the way she sees me, the peace she brings to my life, she’s my North Star. She’s the one I look to when I’m struggling to find my way home." - This goes both ways. Ethan and Singer are so perfect together. They both were looking for a home they never knew they wanted and became each others save heaven.

There is one part in this book, a twist that came totally unexpected and broke my heart. It took me as much by surprise as it hit the main characters. And yes, it had my eyes water. Because what happened is one of the things in life I'm most afraid of. The way Ethan and Singer deal with it is like "best practice". Giving the other the space they need and still being there, trusting to find back to each other. Trusting that love can be enough.

What I love about this book is the fact that everything build slowly. Nothing felt rushed and it has some kind of natural, realistic aura.

“It’s never been about repaying the sun. It’s about making the sun shine in the dark. Let me be your moon and light your night."

Thank you Suzie for this amazing story. This is what every romantic girl and romance fan dreams of! You've outdone yourself with Everest and its way on my all-time-fav list was an easy one.

"His love for me runs deep. My love for him is bigger than the mountain sharing his name."

This had the right ingredients for a juicy second chance romance, but the execution/plot sequence killed all the potential drama/angst leaving me super bored. **This will have some plot synopsis spoilers.**

Ethan saw Singer at a party and was instantly intrigued. After asking around and stalking her a bit, he tracks her down on the fire escape and they almost share a kiss. Unfortunately, they’re interrupted by an OW, and Ethan returns to the party with her. The book opens about a year later with them running into each other, and Ethan asking her out.

The problem is that all the juicy stuff (him starting a relationship with the OW, running into Singer occasionally, and getting into some professional trouble) all happened in that year… that we just skipped over. All that drama or possible hurt feelings are brushed away. Grrr.

What we get are chapters and chapters and chapters of enamored Ethan and Singer giving each other googly eyes while tip-toeing around a friendship when they both want more…. with an occasional flashback sprinkled in.

What we don’t get are any dramatic scenes with the evil OW/ex BFF, or angsty scenes with them running into each other while he’s with the OW, or discussions as to why Ethan left with the OW and stayed with her when he was so drawn to singer.

I found both mc’s flat, and never felt like I knew or understood them. Although, I thought it was comical how Singer was such an atypical h paired up with a billionaire H. This girl had ZERO issues with accepting gifts or handouts. He sends her a car service… she’s not mad… she’s giggling calling her bestie and offering to take her home too.

The way he referred to it as “our money” has me wanting to fall into this good life with him. “He’s accomplished so much already.

Two days later, I fly in a private jet for the first time. I have to admit, it’s really nice. If that’s a perk of this new life, I’m on board with it.

😆😆😆😆

Bottom Line- Slow moving, uneventful read. Things started to pick up towards the end, and I flirted with rounding up, but the h went mega TSTL… and I just couldn’t.

4.5 Stars for Ethan Everest

"The Man. The Myth. The Mountain"

So from the blurb I thought this was a second chance romance but it's not and that was absolutely ok because I still enjoyed this book. More to the point, I really enjoyed Ethan. When he meets Singer he is a bit of a mystery but there is an instant connection that draws them to each other. The chemistry these two have is palpable and there link was electrical.

Ethan was known to the world as a playboy billionaire but Singer was not intimidated. She owned her shoebox apartment, non designer clothes and her ramen noodle dinners. She was proud of what she worked for and I loved how she stayed true to herself. These are the very qualities that makes her endearing to Ethan. He has been betrayed by people he thought were his friends over his money and Singer was like a breath of fresh air for him. There were so many swooning moments in this book as this couple fell in love.

Underlying the romance, there is a bit of a mystery element to this story as Ethan has enemies that he fears may hurt him or the people he loves. The end of this book has quite the shock factor. At least for me, I was not expecting that. That moment was so painful especially since I didn't see it coming.

I must comment that this book was so wonderfully written. This author's style is flawless and this book reads so eloquently and fluent. The only critique I have for this book is that it probably did not have to be as long as it did. This is a definite recommendation from me!

h seems rather insecure and inexperienced from this scene for my tastes:

~Excerpt~
“But you said you don’t take baths.”
“I also said I’ve never used this one. Seems like an opportune time.”
“But I’m naked,” I say, worried about everything—his body naked next to mine, not shaving my legs before I went out tonight. My mind flickers through my flaws. Ugh. No. Just no. Not like that. That stuff should be shared in the dark of a bedroom under the influence of alcohol and desperate sex. We’re too sober for this. I’m too sober for this. What does he possibly see in me when he has women like Nicolina waiting?
He’s more than I’ve imagined, and in some senses, it scares me. He’s the sort of man women like Nicolina land. For once though, it was as if she saw me as competition. The feeling is exhilarating.
“Like I said, seems like an opportune time.”
His shirt is dropped, his undershirt following quickly behind. Good God Almighty. What does a guy who looks like that see in me? “I see you like to work out.” I clear my throat and want to bonk my head on the side of the tub for saying it out loud.
Chuckling, he says, “I have a gym down the hall. It’s how I relieve stress.”
“I thought that’s what sex was for.”
I gasp and cover my mouth, wishing I could keep my crazy thoughts in my head where they belong instead of on my tongue. His eyes are heavy, a smirky smirk restraining a laugh. “God, you cannot let me talk when I’m nervous.”
“If this is what happens when you’re nervous, I’ll make you nervous more often.” His pants come down and my curiosity is answered. Tonight he’s in boxers. When he catches my eyes on his package, I’m thankful I’m wearing waterproof mascara because I immediately go underwater. Screw my makeup. It’s really the only way to keep my mouth in check at this point. I count to five and then pop back up. With my hands covering my boobs, I ask, “You’re really coming in?”

Didn't work for me. Hero despite being utterly enthralled with heroine when meeting and connecting with her, bypassed her and chose someone else. He stayed with this OW for months. Playing house and enjoying himself. He even ran into heroine from time to time but didn't break away from his other chick. I mean, he would kept on with that life with OW if the witch hadn't betrayed him with his best friend. Everest only comes back to Singer because he was thoroughly screwed by the very people he ditched Singer for. Sorry, but our heroines need to be more valued than that. I don't buy the love story. He has regrets caused he got played choosing the easier woman. Singer should have made him worked harder. No one likes to be the second option just because your first one didn't pan out.

Everest by S.L. Scott is the story of Ethan and Singer.
Ethan saw Singer at a house party and knew she was special. When he found her alone he almost kissed her but was distracted by another women. Although it seem they saw each other from a distance through out the year. Singer was a sweet caring women who allowed Ethan to make his way toward her on his time frame I thought. This book does start off slow but it does pick up and work with your emotions.
Although I love the instant love/desire that makes a man only have eyes for that women I still enjoyed Ethan even when he was slow to actually act on those feelings....he at least recognized them.
Overall really enjoyed their story!

Dnf 44%

This is the first dnf I gave S.L Scott's books after so many four and five stars.

I was bored. I was expecting slow burn because that's Scott's style but it dragged and the story was quite flat.

The heroine was doormat and shy, hesitation with her answers and she possibly gonna bloom to a princess further down the line but I don't have the patience to wait.
I just don't like this kind of heroines.

The hero harbored some kind of bullshit secrets that made him act hot and cold and when it folded out it was basically nothing.
Nothing to keep me interested reading this book.

Let me start off by saying I have a full blown girl crush on Singer. She's a beautiful soul who I instantly warmed to. Ethan was a really nice surprise. Not the usual alpha a$$hole I have read lately. I loved his genuine nature, his wit and his easy affection. Don't get me wrong - he's definitely still all alpha. The chemistry in this one is fantastic - wall sex anyone 🔥🔥
It's a well written slowburn love story. Add in plenty of action, dash of heartbreak and great supporting characters and you've got an awesome read.

I received an ARC of this book.

There are so many books that I read that the cover has been the main thing to catch my eye. Usually, when I see the cover and I love it, I want to read it. That was not the case for Everest. There was no cover. But the blurb was there. I read it, digest and I fell in love. The blurb enticed me. The blurb utterly mesmerized me. I know I found a book that will reduce me to nothing. I had to read it. When I got this book and started to read it, my instincts were right. Not only did Everest excite me but it took me to journey full of heart and warmth on my soul. Wow, I was totally addicted to it. Wow, this book brought all the FEELS and I was so overwhelmed in such a good way. I never wanted to stop reading. I never wanted to leave the magic of Everest. Everest told a heartwarming and edgy story with amazing characters, soulful dialogues and heart stopping scenes. I was captured. My soul was shaken. Everest truly shook me to the core.

Right now I am actually having a hard time writing this review because Everest ruined my whole being. Everest stole everything in me and left it in its pages. My gosh, my heart, my soul and my mind was completely overtaken. I was blinded. I was sucked in like a wormhole. I was electrified. I was soul crushed. Breathtaking. Magnificent. Heartfelt. Wholeheartedly brilliant. Everest was a deeply rooted story with a striking and stunning plot. I loved every single part of Everest. The story was sincere. The story was a soul sensation that slammed me full on. So seducing. So enthralling. Everest truly won me over and I just fell in love with it. Everest had a enriching and everlasting story of love, second chances, heartbreak, intrigue and suspense. It was also a romantic suspense with drama and emotions that pulled me in. I smiled. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I sat in my own puddle of emotions that Everest gave me. As a blogger, reviewer and reader, I experienced one of the best literary masterpieces I have ever read.

Everest is my first book by S.L. Scott. Seriously, where the heck have I been? The writing was phenomenal and carefully constructed to give such a moving and thrilling excellence. S.L. Scott writes from the soul and you can tell because you become so trapped in it. Her words are lke butter. Creamy and rich. I am definitely a fan and I will be binge reading her books.

I was introduced to Singer and Ethan who completely made this book amazing. Characters can make or break a book. But Singer and Ethan brought something special to Everest. Such swoon worthy, lovely and beautiful couple I have come across. I loved them. One of the best and favourite couples ever. They just made me smile. Singer is one of the best heroines. She is kind, has an ethereal and good spirit, helping, sweet and just generous. She had a beautiful soul. Ethan was a sweet alpha that made me drool. Omg, he really made my heart jolt and took my breath away. Even though they faced obstacles, destiny and fate brought them together. It had me believing in serendipity.

What can say is read Everest. It has so many layers but its main forefront is love. It is definitely one of my top 10 books of the year.

Everest was my first book by S.L. Scott and if this author's other books are this good I’m truly sorry that I waited this long to read one.

I went into this completely blind. I think it must have been a book I downloaded one time when it was free because it was already on my Kindle. I just thought from the way it started off that it was going to be a sweet love story but boy was I mistaken!!

There is quite a bit of mystery surrounding Ethan Everest but otherwise I figured this would just be a normal storyline but OMG was this not a normal storyline and I my heart broke at one point.

I really do NOT understand why this book doesn’t have a higher rating it gives you ALL the feels!

The characters are great, the mystery is not something you will figure out ahead of time (at least I didn’t). Ethan is lovely beyond words. Singer is beautiful inside and out. Her personality is something people strive for…..thoughtful, caring, upbeat and ambitious!!

Ethan Everest…. alpha billionaire, handsome, captivating and of course a hot commodity with women. Is he your typical charismatic hottie that can capture a woman’s heart with just a wink and smile? Well here’s the thing, he is but he isn’t and that is what I love the most about Ethan Everest.

Ethan knows he’s good looking, but his easy-going nature is what attracted me to him the most. Yes, we get to witness his alpha tendencies and need for control, but he does it in such a way you don’t really know it’s happening. And let me tell you it’s hot and sexy! Queue the swooning Ladies. Ethan truly cares and looks out for people that are important to him. He keeps his group of friends small so trust does not come easy to Ethan, but if you are in his inner circle you are GOLD.

Singer is simply a breath of fresh air. She is magnetic and everyone, I mean everyone is fond of her. She’s completely unassuming and doesn’t realize how much she captivates the attention of others and that’s what makes her so endearing. It’s easy to see whey Ethan takes interest in this naturally beautiful sweetheart. Singer isn’t trying to use Ethan for her personal gain and that is not something he can overlook or ignore.

This is a great slowwwwwww burn. The chemistry between these two is palpable and when they finally let go and act on their emotions, be ready for the temperature to rise! We get a little of everything in this romance; drama, action, some heartache and redemption. You won’t want to put this down until you know that these two have “sealed the deal” ... you can interpret what that means however you want. With that said, I suggest you get reading. Much love for Ethan and Singer!

I’m not quite sure how to write this review – I mean I really liked it. It has everything you want in a love story. It’s just something was missing for me to give it a full 5*.
I think my biggest “upset” was all the mystery as to why Ethan asked Singer not to look him up on the internet. When everything is revealed, I didn’t find that to be such a big problem or a secret, but OK.

Now to the pluses :P
I love the way Ethan (God how much I love this name) knew from the very first time he laid his eyes on Singer (talk about a special name) that she was something special. He never forgave himself for getting “distracted” and didn’t kiss her when they met. He was sure that his life would turned out much better then it did. I liked the way he wanted to get to know her better before they could start the relationship.
Singer was a really awesome character. I really liked her easygoing personality. Her soul is shining through her and everyone she meets loves her.
It was no wonder why she was Ethan’s greatest regret and biggest gain at the end.

Overall this was a good book. The angst and drama could use a bit more "work", but it’s such a small minus that can be easily overlooked.
If you want a story with slow burn, (a bit of) drama, and little angst this is a book for you.

Ethan Everest be still my beating heart, I’m a loved up soppy mess. Prepare yourselves for a smooth talking heart stealing enigma.

I will admit that it took me awhile to get into the story purely due to the pace of the story because the first half is slow. This is a slow burn and even though normally that’s not my thing the more I read the more I understood that it fits the characters.

Ethan and Singer continue to bump into each other socially , in fact their first meeting is a sliding doors moment. The author builds the tension between them perfectly, I got a sense of the chemistry but also the friendship that forms. The reader knows that Ethan is drawn to Singer but for reasons only he knows he doesn’t act on it.

Ethan was a hard character to get to know, because of recent events he’s shut himself off from friends and family. Singer is a sweet young woman who I could imagine bring friends with. Determined to make something of herself, she is trying to be positive but at times feels like a failure.

As I’ve said the pace of the book took getting used to but I really enjoyed the story. The drama doesn’t take over the story but rather plays in the background of Singer and Ethan’s relationship.

Ethan Everest has movie star good looks, combined with boy-next-door charm … and he is a billionaire. This guy has it all, you say? Well, perhaps not. Happiness has eluded him. He owns a thriving business and has lots of money. Yet, he feels that his life is out of control and feels helpless to do anything about it.

When he meets Singer Davis at a party, he is attracted to her from the first. And yet he has pushed her into the friend-zone. Ethan is an intriguing character, larger than life and secretive, a wounded loner who has more enemies than friends. At first, I found that he was a hard hero to warm up to, his apparent indecisiveness was kind of frustrating. Of course, Ethan has had some pretty though things happen as a result of believing in the wrong person, he doesn’t trust easily. His life is complicated, he is embroiled in a big corporate scandal, but he is a decent, honest guy and has no hidden agenda. Walking away from Singer seems to be the best way to protect her, and yet he realizes that he can’t live without her.

Singer is sweet and caring. She has big dreams of a perfect life and I admired her for her resilience. But she feels unsettled by Ethan’s mixed signals. She doesn’t want to get hurt by his inability to commit to a relationship.

These star-crossed lovers worked with each other to become a stronger unit. You could see their emotional walls being removed the more you read their story. Their romance is a slow build that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s a story of two people finding their way to each other. It has a perfect balance of emotion, angst, and a slow and deep burning love.

You have got to be kidding me. He saw the heroine was special from the start made a move on her and and then his dick was dazzled by another woman who he went off with instead and stayed, whilst running into the heroine now and again.....and only when his OW cheated did he make any kind of move at all, otherwise he would've stayed with OW. Pathetic.

So far not impressed, hero is an arrogant ass who is not genuine. The heroine, I’m sorry there is no way around it, is pathetic! Also Melanie is the worst! Friends like her should be dropped, she gives the worst advice ever!
