One Night to Fall

Rate this book
Do we choose love? Or is it something decided by fate?

To Kinsey McKenna, Patrick Kinney was a persistent glob of sticky peanut butter. He had been stuck to the roof of her mouth, since they were both three years old, when fate seemed to send his family next door to hers. All the way from the coast of Ireland to River Canyon, Connecticut.

Over twenty-nine years, fate has been both kind and cruel and many choices have been made. Can things go back to when they were more innocent and magical? Patrick has a plan and just one night to try and take back the reins of his destiny and put the wrong things right with a trip down memory lane.

Fall in love again with this novella of firsts and second chances, in a little town where everything meant everything.

When I was a wee lassie, I was told by my preschool teachers that I was a natural at storytelling. When I was just a little older than that, an old friend's mother said to me, "Kelsey, one day your books are going to be on the shelves at the library."

Well, Diane, I don't know if my books are ever going to be on the shelves of libraries, but I'm sure as hell going to try.

When I'm not writing stories destined to be bestsellers, I enjoy devouring TV shows, listening to every type of music there is and going to concerts, reading pretty much anything (with a soft spot for romance and certain books located in 18th century Scotland), obsessing over makeup, and pretending to workout.

I also have a fondness for cats, my family, tattoos, and a really good French fry.

One Night to Fall is book one in the Kinney Brothers series by Kelsey Kingsley. This is my very first book by Kelsey. It was beautifully told and I couldn’t help but to fall in love with these characters.

one night to fall kelsey kingsley - Google Search

Patrick Kinney and Kinsey McKenna met and fell in love when they were just three years old when Patrick’s family moved next door to Kinsey in River Canyon, Connecticut. They moved from Ireland and had the most beautiful way of speaking. Over the next seventeen years, as they grew from children to adults, their love grew with them.

little boy and girl holding hands

“We never had a choice, we never stood a chance. Our fates were determined the moment I stepped over the invisible line between his front lawn and mine.”

There is no handbook for love. Mistakes were made. And Patrick and Kinsey fell apart. They were separated for ten long years. But when Kinsey comes back to River Canyon, Patrick knows that this is his chance. That he will get her back. Because Kinsey has always been his. He just needed to convince her of this.

“We’re taught that love is a serious thing, but that’s where the teaching seems to stop. When we find it, we’re left to handle it on our own.”

dancing

Now is his chance. Patrick has one night to convince Kinsey that they are destined for each other. One night to remind her of what they had and to give them another chance. One night to make her fall in love with him again.

This is told from both POV’s. We go back and forth between the present and the past as we learn their story. As I write this, I am getting butterflies thinking about Patrick. I loved him so much. This really was such a unique and beautiful story. And we get not one but two fabulous epilogues! The other two books in the series are on Patrick’s younger twin brothers and I can’t wait to read their stories.

“It only took one night. One night to stop fighting, one night to ditch my stubborn ways. One night to hold on and never let go.”

One Night to Fall is one of the cutest romances I've read all year! It's a story about childhood sweethearts/soul mates, Patrick and Kinsey, that have been separated for a decade finding their way back to each other. It flashes back and forth in time from present day to several significant memories from their past. Because of that, we are able to experience their whole journey as a couple.

I usually find it difficult to enjoy novellas that much, because there is such a short time to become invested in the characters. That or the book focuses on the physical aspect of the characters' relationship and not much else. Neither is the case here. I became completely immersed in the story right away. The author effortlessly pulls you in and makes you feel every emotion right along with Patrick and Kinsey. I teared up a little... more than once. I don't think I have ever done that reading a short story in my life.

Overall, One Night to Fall is a beautifully written, sweet romance that is sure to touch your heart! The quality of the writing alone is what made this a 5 star read for me. Everything felt so incredibly real, and it told an actual complete story which is something most novellas fall short in accomplishing.

I've never read anything by this author before now, but I won't hesitate to try more of her work in the future. This isn't a super steamy read by any means, so if you're looking for that, keep moving. I recommend this to anyone looking for a heartfelt romance that gives a full story experience in a small package!

Kinsey and Patrick have been best friends since his family came from Ireland and moved into the house next door to Kinsey's family in this little town in Connecticut. When they were six they got married.☺
Now they're 30 and Kinsey comes back to town after being gone for 10 years.
And Patrick is busy being a cop and a daddy to Meghan.
Two years later he's divorced and busy trying to get Kinsey to give him another chance.
She's not making it easy on the poor guy.
We don't know what happened between them 12 years ago - they never stopped loving each other, but Kinsey is not ready to fall back into his arms just yet ....

description

That was adorable!

I had no idea what to expect. And it was so cute. And heartbreaking. And funny.
Patrick is sooo adorably hilarious in his quest to get Kinsey to fall for him again.
He showed up at the deli where she works EVERY DAY for TWO YEARS! And still she's not ready.
But now he's finally divorced ... she could finally have what she wanted since she was six years old..
But.... we have a bit of a way to go before we'll get our happy end. Even though it all happens in ONE NIGHT!
Patrick does some kind of Ghost-of-Christmases-past thing with Kinsey - he takes her to all their favorite places and they tell each other - or rather us - the important moments of their love story.

Such an adorable and super-sweet 2nd-chance-love-story set in an adorable little coastal town.

I just HATE that it took them 12 years to get back together. I hate that Patrick had this ONE stupid stupid stupid night with the only person on the planet he shouldn't have been so stupid with. And I hate Kinsey for breaking up with him. No idea who is more at fault for everything - and maybe it had to be like that - they had to grow up - Patrick's daughter had to born - who knows. I just hate that they wasted all this time just because they were so mega stupid and young. But now is finally the right time for them. ♥
Another tiny little thing - the cover. Even though the swing moment happens and it's dark, the dark cover suggests another kind of story to me. Something sinister and maybe even paranormal? It's too dark for the story - even though it all happens in one night! ☺

I really enjoyed reading this story. It wasn't holiday-ish, but it still had that Christmas feeling. It was all so sweet and moving. I adored Patrick - even though I can never forgive him for this one stupid moment! And I loved Kinsey and Meghan and all four parents. Great romance - I wouldn't mind seeing that on Netflix one day - maybe they could turn it into the most adorable Christmas Romance!!! ☺

READ IT!!! You don't want to miss meeting those amazing people in this beautifully written romance. The next book will be about one of Patrick's twin brothers!

You know, when you’re reading a book, and it takes you to a place where the world around you ceases to exist... That is One Night To Fall by Kelsey Kingsley. It’s an amazing story of two childhood lovers’ journey, brilliantly told through memories and current happenings. I absolutely loved this book, and can’t wait to read more from Kelsey Kingsley!

EXCERPT:

There was a small sliver of hope carrying me through the remainder of my workday. I thought there was a chance that Patrick would forget about the money growing more and more cumbersome in my pocket. Maybe he had gotten the unlikely emergency, calling him away from the going out he had insisted on, and when the old cuckoo clock chimed seven without so much as a rap upon the door, my hope sprang to all-out certainty with the distressing pangs of disappointment pulsing through my chest.

I hurried to lock the door, to flip the sign to CLOSED. Then, just as I was about to walk away, I saw him. He had changed out of his uniform, into jeans and a worn t-shirt that wrapped the slim frame saying he was his father’s son. The muscles it clung to and emphasized said he worked out and liked everybody to know it.

Arrogant Irish bastard.

I pretended to not notice him as I secured the lock, and I continued to pretend as I turned from the glass paneled door. He knew I had seen him, and I knew a smirk would blanket his face as he softly knocked on the metal frame. I wondered for a moment if I just continued to pretend, whether he would eventually walk away. But Patrick was persistent, always had been. And so, with reluctance and niggling excitement, I unlocked the door.

“Good evenin’, Kinsey Kinney,” he said in that gravelly voice belonging to his father, stepping inside as I closed the door behind him.

Locking the door again made me feel trapped, stuck, and like limitless possibilities had been laid out in front of him. But, I followed the rules, and the rules said I had to lock the door when the store was closed.

“Don’t ever call me that again.”

He cocked his head to the side, scratching the back of his neck. “So, you won’t be takin’ my last name?”

My head fell backward with a groan.

“Hey,” he said, shrugging those broad shoulders, “I’m just wondering what I’m supposed to call ya after we’re married.”

“In two seconds, I’m giving you your money, and making you leave.”

He held his hands up in surrender. I stole a glance at his ring finger, and I wondered if he ever missed it: the wedding ring. How long his hand had felt naked without it, if he had agonized over pulling it off and casting it aside forever.

“Okay, okay. Keep your last name. That’s cool. Very progressive.”

The truth was, I was never going to make him leave, and he knew it. Not when his blonde hair was styled like that, like he had just rolled out of bed. Not when his permanent five o’clock shadow clung onto his jawline for sweet life. Not when his holey jeans hung low on his hips and that strip of abdominal skin came into view when he stuffed his hands into his pockets. Not when I missed the way it felt to be so alone with him, so close.

Patrickinney. Peanut butter on the roof of my mouth.

What a sneaky way to make me fall in love with this couple! Second chance tropes are not really my favorite. I've realized that the thing that separate the couple can be the thing that keeps me from liking a book. This might have fallen into that category if the author didn't write in such a brilliant way that makes you fall for this couple long before you find out what happened.

I found the Hero, Patrick, to be incredibly charming. We get to know him right away and I was charmed from the start. It didn't take long to realize something big happened to Patrick and Kinsey but the not knowing made it easy for me to just enjoy the way Patrick pursued Kinsey trying to get her back.

Their story as kids was adorable and it was so obvious these two belong together. Was I devastated when the conflict was revealed? Yes, I kind of was. I can imagine the hurt on both sides. However, by the time the author got to this part in the story I was already rooting for these two. Like I said...very sneaky of this author, but brilliant.

I can guarantee this H will make you swoon. This was a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it! ARC provided by author.

Do you ever really stop thinking your first love? I feel like they would have a piece of your heart tucked away that no one else will ever have.

Kinsey and Patrick fell in love as teenagers and through they had their future all mapped out in front of them. Until Kinsey went away to college and started to wonder if falling for someone at a young age meant that both of them would be missing out on other life experiences.

Patrick was devastated at Kinsey’s change of heart and reacted by making a silly drunken decision that would affect him for years to come. Effectively shutting Kinsey out of his life for good.

Ten years have passed since they last saw each other and Kinsey returns home due to a family emergency. She does not want to see, speak or even breath on Patrick Kinney. However, as soon as knows she is back in town he wants to see her.

Patrick feels like his chest is going to burst, all the love he had for Kinsey has never really left him and seeing her again cements that they are meant to be together. After a very long time trying he manages to talk Kinsey into spending 24 hours with him so that they can get closure on the past but what he really plans is to show her just how much they still mean to each other.

“I’m not falling in love with you again.” “Hey, I never said anything about ‘again’.” I turned my head to find those eyes looking straight at me. Always those eyes. “You can’t fall back in, if you never got out.”

This is a really sweet story about taking a second chance on love.

An upper 1.5 stars

I bounced between being bored and pissed off at this second chance story.
The H who thinks one night of reminiscing can fix him cheating years ago.
Marrying someone he doesn't like ( though he soon crawled between her legs ) just because she's pregnant is an eyerolling premise for an entire book. Ever heard of being a single dad and being with the woman you love at the same time? I hated that whole thing and I saw it coming as we looked back at the flashbacks, which were th emost enjoyable of this entire book. How predictable he sleeps with someone else after being so devoted to the h.
I think it's my problem I didn't like this book because it has so many 5 stars so take my opinion with a pinch of salt. I hate time jumps, and such a big one, big enough for both the H/h to have other lives. And I hate cheating/other people being involved so right off the bat no matter how sweet people say this book is, I just didn't feel it.
One night to fix everything was rushed and the book didn't feel finished for me. Why would the h even want anything to do with him after that? Meh. Not my kind of heroine to read about.

I'll leave it on a positive note to repeat the flashbacks of these young kids meeting and then teenagers on the budding cusp of romance was actually lovely, the author captured that part of their lives nicely.

Ah, another friends to lovers romance that I adored! I swear this month was the friends to lovers month for me.

I seriously loved this story! It had it all; it was funny (with lots of funny and cute banter), sweet, sexy and also with its fair share of angst. Me love!

I couldn't help but fall in love with Patrick and Kinsey's story, and yes Kelsey it only took ONE NIGHT. Because that is literally how long it took me to read this gem, even though I fell way before it was over.
I couldn't stop reading about these two, I needed to find out if Kinsey was gonna give in to Patrick's sexyness or not. Ok, not really, I knew she would. I just really wanted to find out the how and when.

But Patrick was much more than sexy, he was seriously the sweetest guy, a good dad and friend and damn it, he loved Kinsey all his life. The poor guy was stuck in a loveless marriage, with a total b*tch, for ten years, waiting for the love of his life to finally come back to him.

They spent 10 years with no contact whatsoever, after all those years Kinsey comes back to her hometown due to her father's health. Patrick spends another two years visiting her every single day at her job, and asking her out. On the day his divorce is finally finalized, Patrick attempts to ask her out once more. Kinsey finally says yes with the excuse that if she gives him that one date he will stop pursuing her. But Patrick is prepared to take her on the best date ever, not only do they get to go down memory lane but they get to hash everything out and boy it was quite a journey and you will not want to miss it! Believe me!

I seriously loved these two so much. I loved reading about them as kids, as they grew from friends to lovers, how they went their separate ways and how they came back to each other. It was seriously a beautiful and wonderful read.

This book follows childhood next door neighbor sweethearts Kinsey and Patrick, who practically fell in love with each other at first sight. Originally, they’re presented as two people with a backstory, obviously having had a falling out, but with no real context. Somewhere around halfway in, without my realizing it, the author had wrapped my feelings around her little finger. I don’t know what happened, but at some point between their flashbacks (prompted by Patrick’s attempts to win Kinsey back), I fell in love with their past and present. I rooted for them. I cared.

I can usually feel myself “falling” for characters or a storyline, maybe even pinpoint a tipping point moment or two. That strangely didn’t happen here, but that doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, I enjoyed the story and writing style. I liked learning about these two. I was entertained by their interactions. I recommend this book for fans of the second chance and small town tropes. It was short but satisfying read that warmed my heart on a cold December night.

One Night to Fall was the first book in the Kinney Brothers series by Kelsey Kingsley. It was also my first book by the author.

I love second chance romances and this was indeed a second chance. Patrick and Kinsey met when they were three. From the prologue, we knew the hero, Patrick, was married with a child and that the heroine, Kinsey, moved away and wasn’t speaking to him but came back to town when her father had a heart attack. Fast forward two years and the hero’s divorce was final and he obviously wanted Kinsey. Kingsley then took us through the present and past simultaneously.

It was a sweet and funny romance. I fell in love with Patrick and was pulling for him. It had some sad parts, but in the end came full circle.

"We’re taught that love is a serious thing, but that’s where the teaching seems to stop. When we find it, we’re left to handle it on our own. We’re left to question if we have, in fact, found it, because nobody can definitively describe what love really is anyway. We’re left to wonder if it’s real, if it’s fake, if you’re only simply in love with the idea of someone…"

Here´s my major problem with this book.
Because I did have many other problems, but let´s focus on this one.
My pride constantly fought agains the inevitable turn of events that this story was going to take.
Let me be honest with you: doesn´t matter how much a man/boy/whatever loves me and I love him back, if that guy betrays me and he exchanges/swift me for someone else, IT´S OVER.
There´s no turning back.
Especially if that other person is someone I hate.
OH BOY OH BOY.
THEN, THERE´S REALLY NO TURNING BACK.
Like N´Sync would say: bye, bye, bye.

"He had changed over the years since I had met him, and, God, what a ridiculous thought— three to thirty-two was quite the leap. There were fine wrinkles where there had once been smooth skin, bone structure where there had once been pudge, and hair where there was once nothing but baby softness. But, underneath all that fuzz and those lines, was Patrick and his eyes. Those eyes hadn’t changed, and they were always home. Calling to me, inviting me in…"

So...
To be very concise, One Night to Fall was and it was not good.
Like the 2 stars speak for themselves: IT WAS OK.
To be quite honest, the only good part of the book were the flashbacks.
The flashbacks made me feel things, people.
Things that I rather want to forget.
Like pure love. Teenage feelings. Meeting someone for the first time and have that moment mark your life forever. The angst of those teenage years.
That is, the past. More precisely, the past with someone that you love.
We all have one.
Sometimes you go past you, sometimes you don´t.

"Anyway, I have loved you since then, ever since your parents forced you onto my lawn. I have loved you through childhood, all the way into adulthood. I have loved you when things were perfect, when things were bad, and when things weren’t things at all, and I don’t plan on stoppin’ any time soon."

But, besides the flashbacks, the story itself was MEH.
It was rushed. It didn´t have development. I couldn´t really feel their feelings towards each other.
Just pushing and pushing.
Patrick didn´t even struggled enough to win Kinsey back and she didn´t have enough pride or fire inside her to make things more interesting/ less anoying.
Maybe I´m feeling like that because I´m WAY TOO DIFFERENT from her.
But whatever. My review. My opinion.
I´m pissed.
Patrick just went from one place from their past to another, and, when you realise, they already made up and are living happily ever after like in some goddamn fairytale.
It looked like Enchanted before Giselle got into the real world.

"And God, those eyes. I could circle the globe and never find another pair of eyes quite as full of everything as his. I never would."

Maybe I wanted more than this one night glimpse that the author offered us.
Maybe I wanted some development and not some out of this world this-will-never-happen-in-real-life kind of thing.
Argh. I´m completely disappointed, but I still want to try to read the other books from the Kinney Brothers´ series to catch a glimpse of their daughter/son, since not even the epilogue (which was 2 may I add) was enough to satisfy my needs of more.

Interested in another book by this author so was looking around, and I am kind of amazed this book seemed to fit in every single thing I hate in second chance lol

-celibate heroine for 12 years
-heroine who kept herself pure for a cheater
-technical cheating and he gets woman pregnant
-woman is someone who heroine hated
-marries other woman to do the "right thing"
-sleeps with other woman regardless that he hates her
and can't stand her, righhhhtt
-stays with other women for 10 YEARS
-never fights for heroine till she comes back to town then
decides to get a divorce bc he is miserable, at least you
had some sexual release loser

I just have to laugh!

"Hey." "Hi." All them stars!!!

So, I've fallen in love and his name is Patrick Kinney.

One Night to Fall is one of those reads that don't just creep into your heart, it crash lands and makes itself at home. It lives there now. It's packed full to the brim of a love that spans a life time, or second chances and a friendship that just doesn't quit.

And a gorgeous Irish bastard who is SO sweet. So cute I now have toothache.

My full disclosure is that I don't like books that have wives, exes or the H/h already married to someone else at any part of the story. So when I saw Patrick was indeed married my wee little heart sunk to my shoes.

Me: Oh noes!
Me: Stop whining, it's going to be fine!
Me: KK is not going to play you like that.
Me: *three minutes into the book* OHMIGOD, PATRICK I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, HAVE MY BABIES!

I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The way this story weaves, intricately showcasing Patrick and Kinsey throughout their years, the book is completely about those two characters, there's no room for anyone else, they're devoted, even when they're not together, what else happens in Patrick's life, due to mistakes and consequences of a decision that spans ten years only enriches the story, so KK dragged me out of my comfort zone and absolutely made me love a trope I previously wouldn't have gone near. Because these characters. THESE. CHARACTERS. So much love.

My quote envy is strong. So beautiful.

I would worship him forever.

We're taught that love is a serious thing, but that's where the teaching seems to stop. When we find it, we're left to handle it on our own. We're left to question if we have, in fact, found it, because nobody can definitively describe what love really is anyway. We're left to wonder it it's real, if it's fake, if you're only simply in love with the idea of someone...

I would unpack all of those memories I kept tucked away in my heart, I would hang them on a wall and display them on a shelf, and I would make her remember.

I'm going to say this is a must read. Come join me. Fall in love with an Irish bastard too. ( he's not really )

And ahem. The next book. Ryan... I'm ready for you.

WOW!! What an all consuming romantic journey! First loves. I remember mine. Well, I married mine and this brought up all those strong, crazy, erratic, I can't live without you emotions.

Kinsey McKenna and Patrick Kinney's love was fated. Written in the stars, destined. From the time they met at three years old, their little hearts told them that something was different this time. Best of friends through their childhood and inseparable through their adolescents. Theirs was that once in a lifetime love, the kind we would spend forever searching for.

As they become new adults things shift. Insecurities and distance playing a big role. During that time something terrible happens. Mistakes are made on both ends and it tears them apart. I have to admit that I had some mixed feelings about this part, it was devastating to read and I felt like I was going through a break up as well.

When you have literally grown into love with someone. When you have such a sturdy bond and a powerful history can you come back home? Can that love be rekindled? Did it ever die? Is it more important to hold onto your pride or to risk everything to take the leap for your true love no matter how much time has passed.

"We're taught that love is a serious thing, but that's where the teaching seems to stop. When we find it, we're left to handle it on or own. We're left to question if we have, in fact, found it, because nobody can definitively describe what love really is anyway. We're left to wonder if it's real, if it's fake, if you're only simply in love with the idea of someone...."

Arc provided by author for honest review. This is my very first novel by Kelsey. I have to say I was really impressed and truly loves this book. It makes dig really deep inside yourself and think, can this be fixed, is it even possible. And for longest time I battled with my decision who to be more angery at Kinsey or Patrick. And to be honest I believe they are both to blame. You need it and decide for yourself.

“I’m gonna love you forever, y’know that?” I saw the sincerity glinting in the sea of blue-green, and I nodded. “I know.”

I’m SO happy I received an ARC of this novella. It was sweet, funny, heart-felt, and I never wanted it to end. You were right Kelsey … it only took one night!

This friends-to-lovers story follows Patrick & Kinsey over three decades. I really enjoyed how well they compliment each other. No, their story isn’t perfect. But that’s what makes it real. Patrick Kinney is a charming, foul-mouthed, Irish cop! I dare you not to fall in love.

Kelsey Kingsley is super cool—as both an author and as a person. She has just the right attitude and temperament (not to mention the talent) to make it to bestseller status. Even after I told her that while I enjoyed her writing style, her first book, Holly Freakin’ Hughes, wasn’t my cuppa, she very kindly thanked me for my feedback (you’d be surprised how many people don’t care for my feedback AT ALL. I might’ve received a death threat or two. Just sayin’). And, she was then brave enough to come back and offer me the opportunity to read her next book, One Night to Fall. I took her up on it, mostly just because I dig her style. But I’m happy to say that the book won me over pretty quickly, too.

First of all, this was a nice, quick, easy read with really nice pacing. It didn’t drag on and on, and considering that it was a second-chance romance for two folks that never should have been separated in the first place, it was surprisingly low angst. (I have a super-low threshold for angst, so that’s a huge positive for me.)

Patrick was incredibly charming. I have no idea how Kinsey held out as long as she did when he was set on worming his way back into her good graces. I also have a particular weakness for a sexy Irish accent, so the fact that Patrick’s accent was so clearly conveyed (and without a ton of annoying phonetic spellings that I had to decipher) was really cool for me.

Kinsey was a decent heroine. (Maybe not as charming and adorable as Patrick, but decent in her own quiet way) I totally understood her hesitation to jump back into a relationship with Patrick. But while she managed to hold out for 2 whole years under an onslaught of Patrick’s sexy Irish adorableness, she never ventured into bitchy territory, which I totally appreciated.

If I was to complain about anything (which, let’s face it, I kind of always do), I’d say that the way the story flipped from past to present got a tad irksome after a while. There were lots of flips. I understand why the story was structured this way (it gives readers a full picture of Patrick and Kinsey as characters and let’s us get to know them both in a deep and meaningful way), my personal preference is for stories to stay in the present.

I’ll also admit that the reasons for Patrick and Kinsey’s original breakup irritated me, as well. They were stupid kids making stupid mistakes. (Mistakes were made on both parts) If Patrick and Kinsey had made these mistakes as adults, this would’ve been a DNF deal-breaker for me, but I cut them a little slack because it’s just not realistic to expect dumb kids not to make dumb mistakes. But even so, there was one point while reading that I actually yelled (out loud, which really startled my dogs) at the two of them for acting like idiots and ruining a really great relationship.

But, minor gripes notwithstanding, this is a fun, well-written, second-chance romance all wrapped up in a first love/coming of age story that readers of smart, quirky, funny contemporary romance should try on for size.

Carla's Five Star Review

I think no one ever forgets their first love. There are some who reflect on that time in their lives with fondness, but there are others who never move on from that love. For those people, their first love is in fact their only love.

Kinsey and Patrick thought their love was the everlasting love you read about in story books, and, for a while, it was. Unfortunately, real life got in the way and changed everything. All it took was a few bad choices to totally blow up Kinsey and Patrick's relationship. Fast forward ten years. Patrick is married to another woman and has a child. After her father has a health scare, Kinsey returns to her home to run the family business. It doesn't take long for both of them to want their love back. However, things are complicated. Is a reconciliation between them even possible after everything that has happened?

This book will take you on an all consuming journey. Kinsey and Patrick's love was written in the stars the day they met at just three years old. They have that once in a lifetime love that some people never find. I loved Patrick! That accent along with the sweet things he says and does had me swooning! I just loved that Irish bastard! And Kinsey? She was tough as nails. She didn't take crap off of anyone including Patrick.

Super, fun read! Hurry up and one click it now! I promise you won't be disappointed!

5 "Cocky Irish bastard" stars

"Sometimes, the story demands to be written, and you just have to write it." -Kelsey Kingsley

I love this short but oh so sweet second chance story! I was swooning by the first chapter. These two are amazing together!

"We’re taught that love is a serious thing, but that’s where the teaching seems to stop. When we find it, we’re left to handle it on our own. We’re left to question if we have, in fact, found it, because nobody can definitively describe what love really is anyway. We’re left to wonder if it’s real, if it’s fake, if you’re only simply in love with the idea of someone …" -Kinsey

This is a small but mighty love story that you should definitely read. The characters are amazing. The story keeps you turning pages and the writing is perfect! The banter and love that these two share will make your heart soar! The love they have for each other is felt with each turn of the page. A must read for those who believe in second chances and fall for swoon worthy accents!

"It took one night. One night to fall in love. Maybe that’s all it’ll take for you." -Kelsey Kingsley

I have found over the last year of doing a lot of reading, that one of my go to tropes is second Chance.

One Night To Fall has second chance romance completely covered!!! From page one I swooned for Patrick Kinney. Oh my stars!!!! An Irishman to the core (and I can “listen” to him talk all day) ❤️❤️❤️. He says the right thing every time!!! Kinsey McKenna is the perfect companion to Patrick; she doesn’t take any shite from anyone....especially Patrick!

One Night To Fall is a beautifully written second chance romance with a swoon worthy hero and a strong, determined heroine. This is a must one click!!!

PS: I can’t wait for Ryan’s Book!!!!

I never understand when the hero marries a woman just because she's pregnant. He didn't like her but continued to sleep with her, probs for convenience or whatever. It really showed how much he loved the heroine, instead of chasing her down and fixing shit years back. I hate even more how he drunk fucked OW because of the argument with his girlfriend, It's one of the least likable tropes and for most of this book I didn't like this guy, especially when he thought a night of looking back at memories was enough to make his mistake right.

It's written well, and I liked them as kids, but yeah, didn't like much else about this story.

You don’t want to miss out on this epic love story that will steal your heart in the first chapter. Patrick Kinney and Kinsey McKenna are two beautiful people that define the meaning of true love. This will be a book that I’ll reread forever. One Night To Fall has the love, sadness, heartbreak, and second chances. From the moment I opened this book, I fell in love.

I cannot wait for Ryan’s story.

Only another author who decided to want to convince a piece of shit cheater is in love! NOP NOP NOP NOP! If you are in love, you do not stick your dick in another person, much less in someone so disgusting another person! You do not get her pregnant, you do not marry her! You're just a piece of shit. I'm tired of authors who see this as acceptable in some way. This is insane, ridiculous and unjustifiable.

After having read this book and Ms. Kingsley’s newest release, I can just say that her writing has gotten better through time. This wasn’t bad, but Tell Me Goodnight was magical. It just hit me with all the feels. This book was funny and romantic with wonderful family support. Onto the next book in the series...

Just Ok

Kinsey irritated me enough to only give three stars. She is the reason for all of Patrick's heartache. Yet she blamed him for moving on, even though it wasn't what he wanted or caused. If she had been written to accept all of the blame instead of acting like a victim I would have liked the story more.
