Gillian Wharton’s world is rosy—her son, Fred, has found his beloved, their wedding is on track and the bank is running quite smoothly. Maybe grandchildren are in the future, and her world as head of the town’s oldest bank is humming along. Nothing could be better, and as Christmas and the Jingle Bell Jam fundraiser loom, her world is in order.
Her future daughter-in-law’s family floods in for the wedding, and when Fred and Olivia nudge her toward re-entering the dating world, it’s not at all what she had in mind for this time in her life. And when Olivia’s uncle joins the mix, too, things get really confusing.
Christmas is fast approaching and with mistletoe everywhere, Gillian finds herself in a quandary. Is being alone what she really wants—or needs? And can the mistletoe she keeps finding herself under help her decide?

With the marriage of her only son, widowed Gillian Wharton thinks her world is complete. With the introduction of her new daughter-in-law's family, Gillian suddenly finds her feelings being targeted in a way that she has experienced for years. Being a practical and down-to-earth person, she's long given up worrying about her appearance, but with a handsome, bowtie wearing houseguest, she discovers a new side to her life. I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful sweet mature romance between two people with common goals, who discover love in their middle years.
A wedding, a auction, and a ranch to save. This is book 35 if you have not read the other book it ok because you can read This as a stand only. Ok of with a very happy end.
Mistletoe Mistake lovingly proves the point that there is no age limit for love and that romance is truly ageless. Not that long ago Gillian’s son Fred met the woman of his dreams and he and Olivia are about to say their “i do’s”. As his mother, she’s as proud and as happy as she can be, as a widow she can’t help but remember back to her own wedding day and the husband she’d lost far too soon. But this was the future for these two amazing young people and she’d be happy for them.
Although her son and daughter-in-law were teasing her into considering dating now that her son was safely married off, Gillian was going along with their teasing even as she shook her head at their antics. Yet, when Olivia’s uncle arrived the spark between Aaron and Gillian was obvious to just about everyone – maybe a woman could be blessed twice in one lifetime to find really good men to love.
I enjoyed Aaron and Gillian’s whirlwind romance, when you know it’s right why pretend to need time – time that should never be wasted. This was another lovely romance with a definite Christmas theme. Aaron proved himself to be exactly what Gillian needs when without even trying he makes a decision that would shadow her own desires. They think alike, their beliefs and values are the same – and not everyone gets that chance at love so they’re going for it and enjoying every single second. I had fun with this sweet Christmas romance which proves that age is only a number, it’s what’s in the heart that matters.

Gillian Wharton and her son Fred own and run the only bank in Riston. Her son and Olivia get married. They are so much in love. She's now Olivia Hamilton Wharton. Allen is her Dad, sister Opal and Aaron uncle all reunited a few days after the wedding. Gillian is in charge of gathering donations for the town's largest charitable gala. She's so busy with bank work that she doesn't remember the gala is the next day. Aaron asks if he can help her with picking the donations. And she accepts. Fred and Olivia suggest she should start dating since it's been 10 years since husband passed away. Mistletoe and snow are a big part of this story. Will Gillian find love? I left out many things about this story. It's a good read! Enjoy!
Compared to the rest of this series, this one was extremely slow for at least half of the book. When you've been married to the love of your life, become a widow, and spend the next 10 years alone, being happy, you don't suddenly fall in love. More of a transition or more time would've made it more believable. Side note : not sure who's responsible, but the grammatical errors throughout the entire series is so unprofessional.
I really enjoyed this book. Gillian Wharton never thought she would fall in love again after her husband died. Aaron Hamilton came to spend Christmas with his brother, & nieces. Falling in love with his niece's new mother in law was unexpected.
Hero: Aaron- Olivia's Uncle-- Heroine: Gillian- Fred's mom (bk 30) Reading Enjoyment:4.5* - I Enjoyed this story that captivated me that made me laugh out loud (as I was waiting for my son's trumpet lesson to end) and sigh in contentment. This story has a very happy and satisfying HEA !
Love isn't just for the younger crowd but also for the young at heart. A wedding brings two unlikely people together, one finds love for the first time and the other finds a second chance at love
Another sweet romance in the River's End Ranch. Gillian meeting her new daughter in laws family enjoys her time with Adam Olivias father but as just friends even though they kids would like it to be more. When Adam's brother Aaron shows up the sparks fly.
Another Rivers End Ranch book to be a hit. Have loved all if these books. They could be read as stand alone or even out of order. I read them all in order and am not sorry for it. Hope this NOT the last one!
I adore all the River's End Ranch books. Some are a little more special but all are sweet and filled with that warm oohy goohy fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookie feeling!
Gillian & Aaron Gillian has it all – The bank she owns and is VP of is doing well and her only son recently married. All she has to do is wait for grand babies to love and soil so who needs a man? Get rid of that missile toe and leave her alone!
Finding love a second time in life rarer for older adults. Happy to read and experience the fun and levity during the holiday season. Clean and sweet for all age groups. - Babs
I really enjoyed how the "bad guy" got skewered! Hate it when the poor and downtrodden are taken advantage of. The romance was the " cherry on top". Really well done. Enjoyed it. Left me with a definite "feel good" feeling.
One finale and one beginning in the romance department, and even a real story to top that. With great values underlying the story it is one I can share with anyone and feel comfortable!
