Only downside to this book is you’ll read it all in one go due to the amount of emotion you feel from start to finish. You won’t be able to put it down because you’ll be feeling happiness or anger, sadness or rage, or some other emotion at the end of each chapter. I will warn there are some very triggering events that take place. DO NOT let that stop you though. By the end of the book you’ll be happy that you never put it down until the last page.

Enjoyed this story and all the characters. It would have been nice to have more Description of Japan and the cultural differences experienced by Alex. Also the whole siblings thing that happened in chapter 26 is just weird it felt forced and improbable. I enjoyed the mix of happiness and suspense. The story kept me reading to late at night to see what was going to happen next.

I support up-and-coming authors in all genres by reading their books. For the most part, I can’t tell indie/self-pub from traditional...but this one made me say “oof”. Poor writing. Very poor editing. Yikes.
