With the author's permission I shared this tale with one of my grandchildren, her initial response was, "Can I read it, again?" There you have it, Kid Approved! Kind of makes my review redundant...

This is a nice, quick little book with cute illustrations about determination and not giving up on your dreams and goals. Tiny Tom didn't give up on his dream to fly, and guess what, it paid off in the long run! It is a nice lesson for kids to understand and know, epescially younger ones.
I loved this little book, and it is something I wish I would've read when I was a child, because I know that I would have LOVED it myself. I highly recommend.
A cute children's book with bright pictures and an inspiring story. My four-year-old enjoyed it as well as her older sister. Quick, adorable read for children under the age of seven.
A nice and delightful read for kid. I felt like I was seven years old again. The colorful illustrations were really well done and the text was an easy read. Kids under ten years will should love this.
Tiny Tom is an ant that dreams of flying. He crawls up the tree and uses a leaf as a parachute. But soon enough he finds himself on the ground again. He watches the birds and realizes that he needs feathers to fly. But that was not enough. He thinks harder and comes up with a birdplane.
This is a wonderful story of one ant pursuing his dream to fly. He had a couple bumps on his journey but he never quits. What a wonderful story to inspire children to keep pursuing their dreams.
And I have to say that I love the beautifully illustrated story. The drawings really added to the story and helped draw me in. I can see any child loving them.
If you are looking for a quick story for your little one, I strongly recommend getting Birdplane.
I received Birdplane from the author for free. This has in no way influenced my opinion of this book.
Birdplane is a cute picture book and would be a fun read a loud for both adults and children. The illustrations are simple, yet they are bright and colourful, and show off the character's personalities as well as the plot. I'm sure kids would be engaged by the story of an ant wanting to fly. The desire to fly has been an enduring theme in literature and movies for good reason. However, I would suggest that parents remind their youngsters not to try out Tiny Tom's exploits for themselves. Perhaps not all kids are as silly as my brothers and I were, but that's just the sort of thing we got up to.
I was given a copy of Birdplane for the purpose of review, however my thoughts and opinions are my own.
Birdplane is a sweet and inspiring story! It is simply written, with no excess words, but with an engaging plot, which I think makes it perfect for new readers. I'm an Education paraprofessional and I know how important books are that: 1)Have the potential to interest everyone (Boys AND Girls!) 2)The students can read on their own at a later date if they really enjoyed it 3)Have a great moral/theme. This book qualifies for all 3 :) Thanks for a great book Tonya Coffey! PS. I also really liked the look of the hand-drawn,- yet professional looking, illustrations!!
This is a well written and charming picture book for early readers. There are twenty-one colourful illustrations that will engage and help young children with their understanding of this inspiring and entertaining story.

It's not long before Tiny Tim develops a clever and imaginative plan, that eventually helps him to fly around the forest, together with some of his friends! This is a book with an important message that will teach young children the best way to solve problems. Tiny Tim was very creative, constructive, clever and imaginative. He used his positive frame of mind to learn and develop a successful plan, that eventually helped him to learn new skills and achieve his big dream!
