Join the remarkable journey of Maputa, an ancient coelacanth captured for a Florida aquarium, and the diverse sea creatures who must choose between captivity and freedom when fate intervenes.

Featuring a special introduction by Roger T. Rufe, President of the Ocean Conservancy.

When an ancient coelacanth named Maputa is captured and displayed at a Florida aquarium, she joins a diverse group of marine creatures struggling with captivity. Through the eyes of an intelligent octopus, philosophical fish, captive dolphins, and injured sea creatures, this ecological adventure explores what happens when a rogue wave offers them a choice: the safety of human care or the dangerous freedom of the open ocean. A unique tale of faith, friendship, and environmental consciousness told from the ocean's perspective.

I think that this book is fantastic. It is also really nice when it comes to the different perspectives it has. It has stories of fish and humans all coming to one spot in a way. The fish are put into aquariums and meet the "mantide". This is basically the human race to the fish and they don't like us at the start.
