I wanted to read about Millard Fillmore because his house is located not far from where I grew up (yet I've never been there!). This book provided the basic facts of his life and left me wanting to read more. What I really liked about the book was its layout. Illustrations looked like computer screens showing you web pages, and at the beginning there was a lengthy list of web sites for further information. At the end Deem provided a list of books to consult. Now I've got to check out some of the links, read more books, and visit his house in East Aurora! I've also got to look for more books in this series. Recommended!

Good information, but the format of the book was awkward. The focus seemed to be more on showing how the information was available online, rather than giving the information in the book and offering websites for further learning. Most of the pictures showed webpages with text and maybe a picture, rather than just the picture itself. Since the look-and-feel of the computer sites looks dated, it makes the book appear more dated than it would need to be. After all, this is a history book.

Very interesting to learn the basics of a US president who was never elected and didn't serve for very long.
