An unusual, humorous treasury of cat paintings offers the artist's personal vision of the wonderful world of felines, with accompanying anecdotes to illuminate each painting
I mean, it's about someone named Zoe's cats. I had to have it. It's a neat blend of pictures and autobiography/essay. While I did largely prefer the more realistic depictions of cats, there's a (slightly creepy) appeal to the more cartoon-ish images. Twiggy looks so much like my Winifred.
Cats from her rural setting in Cornwall illustrate and provide narrative in Zoë Stokes' book of exquisitely detailed, full-colour, mostly realistic felines. You can leave Zoë's Cats on a table or nearby shelf, pick it up, read a paragraph or two, enjoy a cat view, and find yourself ready to return to mundane tasks. You might want to buy this book as a gift for yourself or a cat lover; the recipient will not be disappointed in the least!
What a lovely morning read. Sat at the dining room table in the early spring sunshine reading page by page and enjoying the narrative of each piece of artwork full of all kinds of cats in ones, twos, bunches! Soft pastels, cosy cats, cats at the pub lined paw-deep for last call, cats frolicking in a neighbouring meadow, all wonderfully observed and lovingly drawn art. This is a book to be read again, and once more, and savoured. It is a book for cat lovers and folks interested in all art subjects and media. Zoe's Cats celebrates and embraces the feline form but even better, makes us smile and hug our own kitties closer :)
That was adorable. I love kitties. My kitty is nosy too, but I thought ALL cats were that way. Certainly every time we bring a box into the house, it has to undergo her feline inspection, which involves poking her cute kitty nose into every corner of said box.
