I got this ARC from Inkitt Exclusive. It is a paranormal romance with light on the erotica.
A half human, Seraphina, tries to avoid the world she was born into but ends up with no choice. Her friends are all Fae and she is a witch. After an old Upir (vampire) decides to claim her that she must fully immerse herself in the world she was running from. Her life is put in danger many times from both him and others.
I loved the story and cannot wait for the sequel. *There is a whole box set of this series up on Amazon* I was amazed that so many immortals were willing to help Seraphina since the Fae especially are usually not very helpful to humans. I was also amazed that she learned so much so quickly. I was a little disappointed that she has not learned of her true nature or full heritage by the end of the book. I hope all those questions are answered for her and us in the sequel.
There are a LOT of characters to keep up with. I was confused as to who all the people were since a few have different nick names. Sebastian has so many people that work for him and with him. Also there are so many people in the different levels of hierarchy that are a little confusing. If I hadn't read so many paranormal and faery stories previously I might have been confused by all the different species of creatures as well.
While this is a romance the sex is used mainly as a weapon or an exchange of power as is typical in the paranormal world. Sex has a deeper meaning in the Fae world especially. It can be used as a weapon to overpower someone or a way to get information from them. The fact that the two powerful men liked rough sex with a mortal virgin made me cringe but I expected it.
I will have to say that if I had to be a virgin for the rest of eternity I think that I would shy away from men also. That has to suck for sex to hurt at first every time.
The relationship between Phin and Sebastian is so explosive and intense that I was rooting for her to give in from the get go. Her reluctance to be claimed makes sense but I was so frustrated with her. The fact that she so willingly took Granger to bed also irked me. The fact that she has a sexual relationship with Luka was intriguing to me as well as the other characters. I am guessing that a Fae female being with a human female is not usual even in a world that doesn't have the same inhibitions as the human world.
Overall the few flaws with the book were not enough for me to rate it any less than 5 stars. I am highly anticipating the sequels.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone on the basis that it's so different than anything out there. It's a completely new world. I admit that in the beginning it took me a while to figure out what types of paranormal species each character is from. This is because they aren't give their normal labels, which is slightly confusing at first. However, it makes you even more determined to find out what they are.

The novel is full of suspense and tragedy. At times it's highly poignant and my heart goes out to Seraphina (shortened to Phin). Sebastian is one of the male leads and initially his reluctance to pursue Phin is sweet, yet you can't help but think he should have courted her. Especially in light of what eventually happens . I won't say more as I don't want to spoil it.

The best part is that there are more novels in the series!

Oh my goodness this is really good book in fact it was so good I couldn't put it down and it's long very long. This maybe a new offer from me but she is extraordinarily amazing. So many twists and turns you become addicted to Ms. Ebony's Dark Intrigue of Suspense, what an Adventure.
Seraphina Gaelach aka: Phin is human or is she? When she was hit by a car they said she was dead for five minutes then she came back different. How many times can a person die and the Angel of Death “Azrael” hold them tenderly telling you that you have to go back it's not your time. Getting through everything she still keeps her closest friend Luka Thetas. Phin found out she have many powers but not enough power to save her from Upír--the Alvöru Meira en Menn he feeds on blood. How many times can you visit the angel of death?
Sebastian Maviper - is the Hierarch, the Upír--the Alvöru Meira en Menn who feed on blood. He's very powerful and has control of many people oh they have their freedom because they have succumb. But there is one person that he has waited patiently for but she refuses to succumb.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Succumb
by Ebony Olson
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Leave it to author Ebony Olson to find the most creative way for a character to be mortal with extraordinary powers that everybody wants. In Succumb there is nymphs, Lycans, Sorcerers, Angels of Death, Demons and Upir Dragons. Oh my what a Paranormal Mythological Romance story. The story is a dark erotic romance, the main characters are Seraphina Gaelach, Luka Thetas and Sebastian Maviper. Seraphina aka Phina grew up as a human and knew nothing about the powers of the paranormal world, but she did have secrets which she kept from her friends, after she is hit by a car and dies she discovers her powers of a witch. Luka is a nymph who is Phin's Bff and lover. Sebastian is a gorgeous six feet four inches ruggedly handsome in a masculine way, he is a master Upir (Vampire)who is also the High Lord of their supernatural world, Phin had a crush on him when she thought he was her BFF's boss. Now I must warn you this book is not for the faint of heart. Mainly because there isn't any good guys there is bad guys and even more badder guys. The story is exciting but fast pace, there are a lot of sensual scenes that are explicit in natural but what amazed me is the fact that author chose at times to call the male body parts with their scientific name that's about the only time I laughed. The story is kinda intense because of some of the scenes. The romance is very much lacking between Phin and her partners in this story, but it does have a lot of sex in it. The characters are interesting, not very likable, blood thristy and some are abusive. There are parts that's more evil. What I didn't enjoy about the story is how much confusion there is within story and it's not clear if there will be HEA, I realize I only read book 1 and I guess this book ends with a cliffhanger and I need to read the two books. Over all, I could have enjoyed this story because there is some intense, unusual reading if the scenes weren't so fast pace and the ending didn't have a confusing cliffhanger. This Makes Reading Book 2 and Book 3 A MUST READ!

**I received an ARC of this book from Inkitt in exchange for an honest review**

Succumb is a mythological/paranormal story, which focuses on Seraphina Gaelach and the secrets surrounding her existence. She grew up as a mortal but as she advanced in her age she associated with immortals, even became best friends with a nymph, and discovered her powers. The crux of this book is her relationship with Sebastian, known as the high lord of their world.

I find Phin fascinating yet frustrating. While she seems confused, desperate and silly at times, she stands firm on her decisions. Her curiosity got my interest, and as she grows in the knowledge of the immortals, she learns how to manipulate her powers too. The author should delved more about her emotions, showing instead of telling the readers how she feels, allowing us to feel it too. There are some scenes happening too fast that I could barely catch up with Phin’s emotions.

The story is exciting, but there are times that I find myself confused because of the lack of world building. Though I appreciate the story for starting and ending in action, a back story or exposition might have helped. And, if you’re not a fan of erotica, you can skip out these scenes without missing much. Over all, this would have been an entertaining read if the scenes weren't rushed.

*ARC for honest review.
I usually really enjoy Ebony Olson books. This one was a little less then i'm used to from Ebony Olson. It felt like like the plot was a little less thought through than what i'm used to from her. But it's still an okay read.

*I received an ARC from Inkitt*
Succumb is an erotica book with a little too basic plot and all around gorgeous characters *sigh*.
It does have a redeeming quality: holy s how are the hot scenes done!

I have not read this author before, and I am not the biggest paranormal reader, but this is a great story. It had action, romance, betrayal, friendship, drama, intrigue and paranormal components which all flowed together in an interesting take of a story.

I am still not quite sure who all the villains are and how I feel that I like some of them anyway! This is most certainly an adult read because it has many a sex scene and some rape or close to rape scenes. The author does a nice job of blending the paranormal with the normal to make this read enjoyable for even the non die hard paranormal reader. I look forward to reading more in this series to see who actually is evil or just misunderstood, how the relationships continue to evolve and how powerful Serephina becomes!

This was one of the most provoking and intense books that I have read in the supernatural genre. It kept me captivated from start to finish and it left me wanting more. You immediatelly connect with the main character, Seraphina and you are right there with her as she tries to survive a world that doesn't suit her but a world that she belongs to due to her abilities and heritage.
Dark, sensual, challenging and very well written with details of the rules of the world that this takes place that help the reader understand their way of doing things without it being a justification for their actions.
A must read for all who enjoy a supernatural book with well thought out twists and a heroine that you can't help but love from the start as her struggles are relatable despite the world that she lives in.
