He stalks you when you’re sleeping. He kills when you’re awake…

Reporter Rebekka Franck is ready to escape the headlines for a relaxing holiday with her family. Small town Cocoa Beach, Florida seems like the perfect getaway for sunny days and silent nights. At least, until a boy’s dead body is found stuffed in the chimney…

Rebekka learns that the boy is the latest in a long line of victims preyed upon by a local legend. But a demon cloaked in red with sharp fingernails who comes down the chimney can’t be real. Can it?

With the help of a local teen whose dad fell victim to the creature, Rebekka investigates the growing body count. But as Christmas creeps closer, the reporter must catch the demon before it checks her and her family’s names off the naughty list…

Better Not Cry is a spine-tingling Christmastime horror story featuring Willow Rose’s iconic characters Rebekka Franck and Jack Ryder. If you like pulse-pounding scares, imaginative plots, and hellish new takes on Santa, then you’ll love Willow Rose’s holiday horror.

I felt like Better Not Cry had so much potential. I was really disappointed that the Rebekka Franck series took a paranormal/monster twist. I kept waiting for all the bizarre events to be explained and to be given a link at the end where Willow Rose would explain where the idea came from and the truth behind it. However, I have read 30 plus books by Willow Rose...and this won't be my last. I hope if there is an 11th book to Emma Frost there will not be a change in genre.

Another great read by Willow Rose! She never disappoints! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn't put it down. But of course all the books in this series have been page turners!! I definitely recommend this book!!

A poorly executed attempt at the paranormal. Expected more from this author/series.

Better Not Cry, was a scary read!

Willow Rose at her finest!
Rebekka, Sune and their children, have come to Cocoa Beach, partially for vacation and to see a Doctor who they hope can help Sune to walk again. Sune is in a depressive state over his inability to walk, after being shot in the spine. His depression is affecting the whole family, especially Rebekka.
While on a run on the beach, Rebekka comes across, a house on fire, where a small boy was stuck in the chimney and dies. Rebekka tries to help the boy's sister, who informs her of the weird circumstances, of not only her brother's death, but of others previously. Things go south quickly, dragging Rebekka and her family along. Can Rebekka and her family get through this as others die. A great meet up, with Jack Ryder, as the Detective working the cases that follow.
A MUST READ!!

Christmas isn't always fun...

I never looked at Santa and thought of him as scary, but Willow Rose has definitely changed my mind. Rebekka and her family fly to the US to spend Christmas in Florida and also so Sune can see a specialist for his spinal injury. Of course, Rebekka finds herself in the middle of a crime scene almost immediately. She starts investigating and finds hundreds of children have died bizarrely in the month of December going back over 100 years. No one would ever believe that Santa could be so evil and no one does unless you truly believe. This scary Christmas story gives us the best of Rebekka and a little of our loved Cocoa Beach detective Jack and a Christmas miracle. I hope to see more of these two merged together in future books.

Ooookay.

If you are a fan of the IT movie with the nasty creepy clown you're going to love this book. If not read with caution! Our wonderful Rebekka has " jumped cross the pond " to the US with her family to spend the holidays in Florida . And of course, she catches a story; a creepy story that is strange and unfathomable. The real reason for the trip is for Sune to see a specialist to help get him out of the wheelchair. Of couse lots of things happen and unfold while they're there, but I have to say the ending on this 1 is much better than the ending on the previous book. Hat trick accomplished!

While being the 8th book in the Rebekka Franck series, Better Not Cry is also following an earlier short story, Better Watch Out. I don't think it is absolutely necessary to read the other one first, it is only 68 pages and it does talk about those happenings a lot, so while not necessary, it will be scary/fun. I can't even say anything about Better Not Cry without giving you a spoiler except that it is scary good! And if you're on book 8 you already know that. It's an easy, quick read, and I'm not going near my fireplace until after Christmas!

Great follow up to You Better Watch Out. Wonderful to see Rebekka and Sune and the kids back, and of course detective Jack.
If you ever thought Santa was creepy, and wondered why he was watching this book gives you some insight. Rebekka and her family have come to Coca Beach for Christmas and to see a doctor for Sune. While out on the beach she encounters Jackie, and begins to learn the horrors of Santa, and exactly why You Better Watch Out, You Better Not Cry.

Santa is an anagram for Satan

In this thrilling, supernatural tale that ties three character lines together, Santa really is coming for you. Rebekka meets Detective Jack Ryder and characters from "Better Watch Out" in the fight against an evil Santa that is killing anyone who believes in him. But Santa made a mistake when he decided to put Rebekka and her family on his Naughty list.
Can't wait to see where Rebekka and Sune go from here.

I Don't Believe In Santa!

Yet, another "I can't put it down until I'm done" read from Willow. Visiting with Rebekka and her family again is like visiting with old friends. You can't wait to see what kind of mess Rebekka finds herself embroiled in this time. Who would of guessed it would be an evil Santa? It all hits a little too close to home when one of her own becomes a target. But never fear, you're safe as long as you just don't believe in Santa.

This story is NOT for children!!!! Let's just put that out there now. I love how Willow finds new ways to scare the hell out of people....including me!
Once you start this story, you won't want to stop! A great story for Christmas time with a Santa you won't believe! He really hopes your naughty!!!!
Leave it to Willow Rose to take something as nice as Santa Claus and turn him into something so twisted you will fear him! Love it!!!

Fast paced, action packed, and totally creepy. Rebekka Franck faces the supernatural in this one and it's a thoroughly disturbing and heart-pounding tale. I haven't read Better Watch Out, the short story that started this twisted look at Santa, but had no problem following the story here. The idea of a bad Santa isn't a new one, but I have to say that this certainly gave me chills and I may never look at Santa Claus the same way again. In my opinion, this is the best Franck novel yet.

Glad I don't have a chimney!

Horror stories are not at the top of my favorite genre. I scare too easily and take them too much to heart, so I am very glad to have read this book nowhere near the holidays. Frightening but creatively good. Ms. Rose sure knows how to weave a story and I for one wouldn't want to be on a overnight camp out, sit around the fire pit and have her telling the scary ghost stories.

Rebekka Frankk with a bit of a paranormal twist

I always look forward to a new chapter of Rebekka and Sune and their family. It seems no matter where they are, Rebekka lands knee deep in whatever big story is at hand! This story was a little bit out of the ordinary from what I normally expect from a Rebekka Frankk mystery, but still incredibly enjoyable. And there is even a few appearances from old friends from another Willow Rose series.

Not for the faint hearted!

This was my first Willow Rose book, and I can honestly say that it was quite enjoyable ... that is, if like me, you're into some truly creepy story writing! The pace moves along well, and you find yourself forming attachments to most of the characters. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more Rebekka Franck books, and seeing all her family members' characters fleshed out a bit more. I do recommend this book!

Just a little freaky

Willow takes this book a little off the track from the previous seven. Once again, Rebecca and family try to have a simple holiday vacation. Read, see how things go terribly wrong! Things go wrong, but not in the way you may expect. You may look at Christmas just a little differently after reading this book. However, you will not be disappointed. This is excellent!

Much as I love Willow Rose, a few of her books are just too much for me. This was one of those. When innocent children are tortured, etc, it's almost more than I can bear to read. I thought I was reading these in order, but when I learned that Rebekka's long-time boyfriend, Sune, has been paralyzed and in a wheelchair for two years, I must have missed something. Now I gotta go back and play catch-up.

Better Not Cry, which is the 8th in the Rebekka Franck series, moves to paranormal. This is not my favorite genre, but I enjoyed it anyway.

Santa is the culprit in this one. The murders take place — and have for years — during the Christmas season. Just like so many others, Rebekka’s family is affected too.

Sune, Rebekka’s boyfriend, plays a big part in Better Not Cry. This is another page-turner. Interesting throughout.

Loved catching up with Rebekka and Sune. Spending Christmas in Florida was going to be different, but they did not realize just how different it would be. After reading this it may be hard to think of Santa in the same way. A very intense book that keeps you reading late into the night, hoping it does not invade your dreams.

Brilliant as Always

I'm a horror and paranormal lover and still miss all of the Halloween horror marathons and since I'm not a fan of the traditional holiday stories this was perfect for me! As usual, Willow Rose knocks it out of the park! Plus, I love the combination of two of my favorite characters. I'm excited to see if they have anymore adventures together!!

Better not cry

Once you read this book, you will never look at Santa the same as you did before. Imagine being in beautiful Florida in a gorgeous house for Christmas, when everything turns upside down. What is going on? You will be uneasy. Willow does it again wth a powerful story. What a privilege to be able to read and review her books. Love it.

Creepy good

Once again we are with Rebekka's family and they are in America at Christmastime . We are with her growing family and all is not well there . The is a Creepy Santa with horror and thriller interweaving in the plot. Exciting climax and there are human elements that make you care for all the characters. I highly recommend this book!

I think that Better Not Cry is possibly the best one so far from Willow Roses Rebekka Franck series. This is book number eight. Rebekka and her family have come from Denmark to Florida for medical treatment for her husband. But even in a different country, Rebekka is still getting involved in murders!
