A CHRISTIAN INSPIRATIONAL SERIES As far as former supermodel Rachel Song was concerned, her best modeling days--and the good cash it brought along--were over, thanks to her age and a medical condition beyond her control. Stuck with debt, and working a low-paying job, she finds herself doubting an opportunity to revisit her modeling days, was from God. Will she follow through on her promise to be part of this new venture, or will the rejections she'd suffered impact her obedience to God? Since the day his late fiancee died, New York Times bestselling author, Al Dove had kept one promise to himself--to keep breathing until he died too--and to do nothing more. He was no longer interested in anything life had to offer him beyond breathing, eating and sleeping. When a knock at the door, and a sharp awakening led him to revisit his decision, he attempts to pick up the pieces of his life from shambles. Can he see a possible future with God and the people around him in it, or will he remain blinded by grief? ___ AFTER 3 is Book 3 in the AFTER Christian Inspirational Series (3 books plus 1 novella-JABEZ). I have enjoyed the "After" series. This one was my favorite. Al Dove, bestselling author, attempts to recover from his wife dying. Rachel Song, supermodel, thinks her modeling days are over because of a medical condition. These two lives will intersect, changing both forever.

I had plans to read this book over a few days. That didn't happen. It gripped me from the beginning with action that continued until the end. As an author myself, I enjoy reading stories that have authors and their writing processes within the pages. Add, a Christian touch, and it makes the read so much better.

The After series includes loosely related books that center around a theme of transformation. In every book I've read so far, the focus has been how the person rises out of the ashes of an identity crisis, a severe illness that has changed the characters' lives, or regaining your bearing after a crippling loss. The themes are about things we experience in our own lives--occurrences we face ourselves at one time or another. Like these characters, we need answers to our pressing questions. We need to figure how to do life AFTER--all relevant needs for today's readers. The author then helps us step into another's shoes and imagine how their lives could possibly help us in our own AFTER.

Albert Dove was a writer. But recently he fell into a slump when his wife died. His friend is concerned about Al's lack of motivation to even live and take care of himself. His publisher dumped him when his popularity slumped and now he doesn't know what to do with his life. His friend makes a last ditch effort to revive Al's writing career. To do that, he tries to find a way to inspire his friend to pick up his pen again. They find just that in the form of a cover model for the next book in Al's series. And his friend is going to show him how to self publish the book.

Rachel Song is a waitress. Worse yet, she is a former model who she believes is past her prime. She's just gliding along in life without much purpose when her friend Candace shows her an ad for an audition. She decides to give her old career one more try before moving on. But then she is chosen as the model for Al Dove's next novel, something about a feisty female sheriff who has disappeared in the last book and is now making a surprise come back. She and Al hit it off right away, and he is certain he can write not only one more novel but a whole new series. His muse is back and he decides to make this a faith based series.

Like the other books in the series, this one is filled with hope and life. Faith plays an important role in how these characters recover from losses and setbacks. The author's intent is clear. She wants us to be encouraged rather than discouraged by the tests and trials we face so often. Her desire is to show us how God can lift us out of the pain and into peace right in the middle of even baffling circumstances. I think she does this well without becoming wordy or preachy. Her message is that there is always hope. That hope is in a close relationship with God through Jesus Christ. And He has a plan for our lives.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary review copy of this book from the author. I was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise. The opinions I have expressed are my own. An absolutely beautiful story, I enjoyed it so much. Getting to know the character Rachel was a joy, she is a beautiful lady inside and out. She has had her heart broken many times because of a condition totally out of her control. Now she is almost to rock bottom but is trusting God for her future. We are blessed to have Candace, JB , Josh and Blossom make appearances in this book to help Rachel with her problems. Al has been a hermit since the death of his fiancee 18 months ago. He has allowed his career as an author go down the tubes. When his best friend Scott shows up unannounced at his door he isn't sure what to expect. God is definitely involved in this story, that reads like reality. These two people are in need of a God that will inspire and encourage them to go for His best in their lives. I loved it, such an awesome way to get inspiration for our own lives. Even though this book is fiction, the people and situations are things that happen every day. I recommend this book to anyone but especially to someone that needs encouragement in their life, you are not alone, God is willing and able to fulfill your dreams.
I received a free download of this book. This review is totally my own honest opinion.

After 3 by Joy Ohagwu is an engaging story of second chances--second chances at careers and second chances at love. Even though this book is third in a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. The story is separate from the other books in the series, with a few characters from them showing up in this story. Readers get caught up quickly in Al and Rachel's story. Al is an accomplished writer who hasn't written in a couple years, using mourning as an excuse. Can his friend draw him out of his writing funk? Rachel, a former supermodel who is at the end of her rope financially, is desperate to land a modelling job. Will she find more than work and financial stability if she does get the job? The story moves quickly and keeps the reader's interest. The characters are strong and realistic as they work through their circumstances and learn to trust God more fully. The author gives a glimpse into the world of indie publishing which I found to be interesting. I found the story enjoyable and am looking forward to more in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions are my own.

After 3 by Joy Ohagwu is a poignant Christian romance. It is a novel about second chances, new beginnings and a God who longs to fulfil our dreams.
Grief can cause us to drown with the weight of the past. It will rob us of our future if we let it. "Grief is a thief... Don't let it steal the man she loved." It can be hard to recover from our pain. We need good friends and God in our lives.
We all have hopes and dreams. When our dreams appear to be shattered, it can take our hope too. We need to turn to God who has a far greater plan for our lives than we could ever imagine.
Good friends will help us through the trials of life.
Prayer is important. Prayer draws us closer to God and can give us a peace that passes all understanding.
God is a God of new beginnings and second chances. "With Jesus, there is always an After. Don't give up."
After 3 is a wonderful read that will leave you smiling.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

After 3 is the third book in the After Christian Inspirational series by Joy Ohagwu. New York Times Bestselling author, Al Dove is finally writing a new book. After the love of his life is killed in an accident Al couldn’t bring himself to continue writing. Rachel song answers an add for a chance to be the model on his next cover. Will they both get another chance at love? In this story you get a glimpse into the life of an author. Some of the technical stuff concerning publishing got to be a little bit overwhelming. I really enjoyed how Ms. Ohagwu kept God foremost in the story. Getting to know Al and Rachel was a pleasure. The story flowed right along. The statement, “With Jesus, there is always an after. Don’t give up.” Was an inspiration to me. Reminding me that God is always in control. He knows what is best for us. Just trust Him. Even though it’s the third installment it can be read as a stand-alone.

I received this e-book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Faith

I again enjoyed another book in this series. Seeing God intricately weave in the lives of these characters was so uplifting to read. He has a plan for everyone of us if we listen to what the spirit call us to do and proceed with what is being asked, He will fulfill. I witnessed through reading God’s story for Rachel, great faith in Him. After struggling through her numerous dating defeats, she rested her focus on God, and not in her own selfishness. This is something I am still trying to do in my daily walk. I am continually inspired when I read Joy’s stories and am excited for the next book I pick up. Be Blessed!

An usual combination but very inspiring

At first I felt the story was a bit scattered and I couldn't quite get where the author was going with the story and briefly thought about not continue to read it. It was worth it. First you get insight into the world of an indie author but more importantly you see a mature couple develope a relationship with each other by following God's desire to build wholesome relationship without the world's view that you have to live together to figure out if you're compatible. I loved the story but did feel it dragged out in places.

A real Joy to read

Ms Ohagawu, presented each story in this series of " After" with characters so real, you felt as if they were people you knew and God fearing. They had real life issues , but with God always leading them their "After" ended in a joyous time to celebrate. I could read more from Candace, JB, as they both come through heart aches and find joy on the other side of through! Just as Blossom and Josh and Albert "Al" and Rachel. This series really touched my heart!

Rachel has given up on finding a man who could love her. Watching Rachel and Als relationship change is truly wonderful. The author will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. You won’t be able to put this book down. You will feel God working throughout this whole story. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

Another wonderful story of hope, redemption, and grace through Jesus, no matter how difficult our challenges and circumstances are. I enjoyed the characters--Al and Rachel--who had been hit hard by circumstances beyond their control, and their comeback and restoration through their Lord Jesus Christ. I also liked the way Ms. Ohagwu interwove characters from her other books throughout the story. I highly recommend this book by 1 of my favorite authors!

Joy Ohagwu did it again. Another wonderful story in the After series! Trusting God and following the path He has for you. You don't have to read the first 2 books to read After 3. It is a strong stand-along book, but you will love all the books in this series. I highly recommend this book if you like clean inspirational stories.

Another excellent book.

Everyone of Joy Ohagwu‘s books are wonderful to read. She writes such compelling stories and you are made to feel as if you are right there along with the characters. But what I love most about her writing is her profound love of God and how that is written into each book. Each series just keeps getting better.

A woman who only wants to follow God - and get married to a Godly man. BUT she can’t have children and that seems to be a problem. A man who loses his wife. What happens AFTER? Superb book of two people willing to follow God in whatever He calls them to and gifts them with.

Christian fiction. I enjoyed this book very much. Both main characters had issues to overcome with the help of God. It also incorporated characters from the first two books of the series but could very well be read as a stand alone.

Godly Love

This is a well written book that demonstrates the hope we all have in the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. As readers we are reminded by Joy Ohagwu that "weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning."
