Taylor McKay’s life is exploding and she’s the one that lit the match.

Losing her father a week before her thirtieth birthday shifted her world. Breaking up with her boyfriend, quitting her job and subletting her apartment to go work on a yacht for the summer struck the match. The yacht catching fire and sinking incinerated any semblance of a normal life.

She was only existing when she promised her father she’d start living. Now Taylor has to use every ounce of will to survive. Being lost at sea with billionaire Easton VanHouten is definitely a surprise, but better stranded with him than going full-on Cast Away by herself.

After all, it can't get any worse. Right?

Hmmm.. ending was very abrupt. Book needs more polishing in terms of writing and story. Nonetheless, I’ve enjoyed this from the start. Considering the rating, I had zero expectations so I’m actually surprised that I liked this and didn’t skim.

This book has a gorgeous cover, and the blurb sounded super interesting. What would I do with a sexy man if we were stranded on a tropical island? I'm sure you can imagine, my mind went to all sorts of naughty places. It still is, even hours after I've finished reading.

The book itself wasn't what I expected. It felt unfinished and forced. The conflict was something that could have been so easily remedied by with a few sentences of communication. After being stuck on an island with one person and one person only, I don't think communication should be an issue. It made Taylor seem needy and whiny and I couldn't relate to her after the boat sank.

There's one part where it seems to allude to her being pregnant (she's in the bathroom,, staring at her reflection seeing if she looks any different and 'sets down the thing that just changed her life') but it's never addressed again. Which is unfortunate because it would have made the rest of the story seem less forced and more believable.

It's a neat idea for a story. It wasn't my cup of tea.

I was provided with a copy of this book from the author/ publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! The synopsis of this story is what drew me from the start – I’m a big fan of trapped in isolation stories.
This is a sweet story about Easton and Taylor who become lost at sea when the yacht they are on catches fire. They eventually come to a deserted island where they fall in love (even though it seems they are both in denial and/or don’t want to admit it to the other person). This becomes evident once they are rescued and recovering in the hospital. One of my favorite scenes is Taylor waking up to East in her hospital bed with her. Awe – to have a man that devoted to you!
This story is all from Taylor’s POV and she is concerned East is only with her because she is the only one available.
I have not read any books by this author before. This book is not a part of a series although I would love to read a book about Carter finding his one true love. *Hint, hint, hint!!!*

Marooned

East is a multi-millionaire businessman celebrating a sealed business deal by taking a yacht trip with colleagues. Taylor upended her life after her father’s death and a lackluster love life. She took a menial job on a cruise yacht that encountered a terrible storm & accident.

East & Taylor have to learn to depend on each other and to survive in the open ocean and after washing ashore on a deserted island.

I often say that some books are so predictable, the story the same, you know exactly what will happen when, well not with this book. Yikes! so much action, so many surprises, a few scary moments, love, sex, friendship. A good read.

Taylor is drifting through life, a little lost with breaking up with her longtime boyfriend and the death of her father. She finds herself working on a yacht for a summer. All her unlaid plans unravel when the boat sinks and she finds herself a castaway with the rich and famous Easton. They lean on each other in their own deserted island. They are rescued and Easton doesn’t want to be a part from Taylor but she can’t reconcile their two worlds and hides away. After some time Easton does what he can to convince Taylor they belong together.

In An Oyster Shell – I really liked this book it was a great survival romance. One of the few books I’m tempted to read again.

The Pearls – A hot millionaire stranded on an island when you’ve really got no place to be anyways. I loved the premise. It really took me by surprise. This story is very unique and was well executed.

I loved Taylor and Easton. As I read along I felt sequestered with them. The tension was palpable when they are brought back to the real world. I love Easton’s family that ends up surrounding Taylor. She goes from having no family to a family that wants to take her in no matter how much she really wants to run.

I love the romance. I love when the Hero is a strong pursuer. I really liked that he enlists his whole family to help win her over. I like the solidity they formed on the island that has a good chance of surviving in the real world.
