From C. C. Hunter, the New York Times bestselling author of the Shadow Falls series, comes another story set in the Shadow Falls world.
Werewolf Fredericka Lakota prefers to be alone. Even years after being abandoned by her rogue werewolf father, she's still never found a place for herself in Shadow Falls.
Fredericka’s only comfort comes from the jewelry she creates…and now from Brandon Hart, the owner of a new art gallery who wants to showcase Fredericka’s work.
But Fredericka’s life has gotten more complicated: she’s learned her father has died, the death angels from the falls are calling to her, an ex won’t let her go, and she may be seeing the ghost of a missing woman who needs her help. On top of all that, her attraction to the mysterious Brandon only grows stronger; but if other supernaturals won’t accept a rogue werewolf, how could a human?
Originally released as part of the anthology Almost Midnight, Fierce is a fast-paced, romantic thrill ride that will make you fall in love with Shadow Falls all over again.

Fredricka needs her own book! That's how much I loved her novella!!
Her character development from heinous cow that no one liked in Shadow Falls to such an amazing and deep person who just needed to be shown some love was amazing!!
loved learning about Fredericka! Shadow Falls never has to end because all of these people in these stories could each have their own books and spinoffs!
Another amazing book by cc hunter. I'm sad to see the shadow falls series end. I love all the characters portrayed in each book. CC is my favorite writer. I can't stop reading once I start one of her books. The way she writes makes me feel like I'm in the story somehow. Her writing is magical. I'll have to say readers won't be disappointed, no matter which series they read. I specially recommended the shadow falls series..
This was a novella about Fredericka and I really enjoyed it. It was interesting to learn about her past, about her family, and was especially surprised at her being an artist. I couldn’t get over what we learned about the history teacher Cary. Brandon is one sexy sweet guy and I think it’s so neat that he has things in his life and his family that connect the two of them. I’m glad that Fredericka actually gets her happily ever after.
actual rating: ⭐️4.5 i loved the novella collection: Almost Midnight , every single one was a 4 or 5 star read! felt so amazing to go back to shadow falls and these characters again!
i was surprised by how much i loved this particular one though because i didn’t like Fredericka in the books. but i loved getting to know her more here and learn more of her backstory and i love Brandon! also the fact she kinda made friends with Kylie, Della and Miranda, because she deserves real love and friendship so i’m so happy for her🥹
now the reason i’m giving it a 4.5 is simply because i don’t love the fast paced romance, even though they’re adorable and i love them together i just wish it wasn’t quite as immediate; and the ending with his sister felt a bit rushed. i know it’s a novella but it was so sudden and didn’t feel like that part got enough attention. would’ve loved to see her explore the ghost stuff more and Brandon learn more about everything. but that’s it, overall i loved it! 🫶🏼

This novella actually helped me like Fredericka. It can be read as a stand alone novella, but I think it’ll be more enjoyable and much easier to follow if you’ve read at least the first arc of the Shadow Falls series. Plus, there are a few series spoilers.
It was nice to get some insight into Fredricka. It was interesting to learn about her past and to see how she was handling all that was going on in her life. With only two more complete Novels for me to read, I wonder if she will play a bigger role.
Fierce is such a fun and fast read! I give this short story a 4 out of 5 stars, and would honestly give it a complete 5-star rating if it weren't for one thing, but more on that later.
Fierce is a short story in the Shadow Falls: After Dark series about Fredericka, the daughter of a rogue werewolf who is trying to be something more than that. I will say before you read any further, you will enjoy this story so much more if you start at the beginning with Kylie's story in the first Shadow Falls novels, then go into Shadow Falls: After Dark, then finally pick this novella up! The characters will seem much more fleshed out and it will make more sense overall. If you try to read this without the background context, you will still probably enjoy this, but definitely not as much. SO I would recommend starting at the beginning! And that is the only reason why I do not give this 5 stars because it doesn't stand on its own very well. To fully enjoy this, you have to read the other novels. But as someone who has read all the other books, trust me, they are so worth it!
I loved this novella because it was fast-paced, and even brought up so many themes that I could relate with. There is even an instance of unhealthy relationships and what women deserve in a relationship. There is one character who shall remain nameless (You'll know who when you read this), who is an absolutely disgusting person. And if I were to ever run into someone like this person in real life, I'd drop them so fast they would forget gravity exists. And part of me loved that, because this isn't just a cute novella about characters we already love, but it explores much more. It is still a cute romance novella but includes much bigger and more important themes. Plus Fredericka is BA, why wouldn't you want to read about her?
So, I encourage you, read the first novels, then come read this one! They are all so good, and this one fits right in! It is so good, I've read it twice!
Loved being in Fredricka's head! She's a different narrator then all the others we've had before in this series, she's bitter about having a rogue of a father. Really enjoyed her story!
A very short and sweet story with Fredricka. I'm really glad that she knows that things would never work between her and Lucas, and she finally came to accept Kylie as the right person for Lucas.

This is an awesome read possibly my favorite short story set in the world of Shadow Falls.
There was something about the store that just felt fresh, and I believe it's because of who the author chose to make the main character. Fredericka largely and antagonist for the start of the original Shadow Fall's series but she was shown to have a deeper side in the end. This story opens up her character showing her to be incredibly deep. While it was a surprise to see the author reveal the true colors of a certain character it was believable given how little we actually knew about him. The direction the author took the love story in combined with the interwoven ghost plot created a fun heartfelt and bittersweet story. What is incredible is that Frederica couldn't very well stand with Kyle, Della, and Miranda. The author creates enough interest that I wish we can get a full book from her perspective.
