I read this story before it was published, on Wattpad. I’m usually not into werewolf books but I took a chance on this one and I’m glad I did. The moral of the story is that beauty is only skin deep, and that it’s what’s underneath that really matters, and if you can look past a person‘s physical flaws, there may be someone really special underneath.
Emmeline’s Alpha is reminiscent of a modern day Cinderella story with a beauty and the beast twist, instead of the handsome prince there’s a handsome scarred werewolf with a bad reputation. She lives a hard life with her stepmother and stepsisters, but is soon taken away from her old life to start afresh with Gideon.
Their journey does not get off to a flying start, it’s awkward, and with Gideon’s insecurities surrounding his scarred face and unfavourable reputation he pushes the sweet girl away at times. How could anyone so innocent love someone like him? Although brisk at times, he is never unkind to her, and when some slight angst happens with Emmeline’s step family he steps up and becomes the man she needs him to be to protect her.
Overall this is an incredibly sweet story, one that I have read many times, and reach for when I need a wholesome, feel good story. It’s not for everyone, this type of genre never is, and there are some slight errors and things left unsaid, but I truly love this story. Just bear in mind, it is a werewolf story, so there is a slight touch of violence during the middle and end, but it’s over very quickly, so skip those parts if you don’t like that.

March 23, 2026Emmeline is Cinderella to her negative stepmother and stepsister. But she is mated to a fearsome alpha Gideon. When they are mated her steprelations come by to attempt a silly seduction scheme as if Gideon would hardly even notice a switcheroo and would just meekly go along with his luna being threatened.
She gets shot so he decides to make her practice fighting. How's kicking and punching going to help you not to get shot? How come the villains are not afraid of his revenge? One would think people would try to be more subtle if he's so terrifying.
This wasn't really my cup of tea, the writing style didn't grab me and it didn't seem believable. (What do you mean, werewolves aren't real??) So I skimmed some of it.
On Galatea the author is said to be Leila Vy.

3.5 stars to Emmeline’s Alpha by Leilla Vy
This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed it. I read it on the Dreame App on my iphone. Emmeline has read storied about the beast that is Alpha Gideon and she is worried they are true when she discovers he is her mate. This book takes a twist of Beauty and The Beast and Cinderella and molds them together , Alpha Gideon is covered in scars and doesn’t think anyone could every love him because of his looks. Then he meets his mate Emmeline . She says she loves him and thinks his scars make him more beautiful . There is drama , suspense and love in this story . It has all the aspects we love in a great story. You will love it .
