TW ALERT!!
The first thought that came through my mind is that this guy is f*** abusive and a violent man. And he shouldn't treat her like that...like it is very cruel, even though I know that he has been facing a lot of trauma in the past but he shouldn't take out his anger on his wife. How dare you treat your wife as a slave and somewhat a maid? The bad part is the way he dealt with his anger by throwing the plates and bowls, slapping and spanking his wife using a belt, omg it's a big no for me.
Geez, now let's talk about the wife, I felt that her character in this story doesn't stand out that much, and it feels like she is somewhat small and can't even protect herself and too naive. I expect the story to be a comeback for the wife to fight for her rights and stand up for herself more, but that never happened. She doesn't have the power to come back and just let the husband be more violent on her instead, like, wtf?! And I very much expected that the husband should be begging for forgiveness and repent, and still, it never happens. Yup, maybe I suggest the author represent women's power in one of her upcoming books, make the wife or victim to be more smarter and brave if they are about to face this kind of plot again)
So, those are the bad things that I don't quite enjoy from the read actually and have made me thinking that maybe these kinds of things have been faced by literally any of us, and that saddened me.
But, I didn't say that this book is all bad, no! It also has the goods that I can take, like the way his wife is still trying to search for the happiness in her life instead of the bad, think positive, trying to make up with her husband, and the way she keeps on trying amazes me. In fact, she never even once hated her husband (like you know, how the husband treats her at first...🤮). She is a strong girl, and I truly respect her for that.
As her husband is actually kinda sweet, too, like the way he melted for her without even saying, even though he really does sucks at first. Overall, the ending is bearable, and the writing is easy to understand. Well, that's all folks!
