Their relationship was old news, until fate throws them together again. - After tragedy strikes, April Williams returns to the only place she feels safe - Hope Harbor. Now a widow on the run from a dark past with two young children to care for, she takes the only nursing job in town…working for Drew, the boy who once broke her heart. Dr. Andrew Hope has never forgotten his childhood sweetheart, April. Now part owner of a medical practise on the small island where they both grew up, he’s moved on with his life. At least he thought he had, until the woman he’s dreamed about for years is back, living near him, working side-by-side with him…and getting under his skin. Neither April or Drew can stay apart for long. But will they get a second chance at love, or will the secrets April’s keeping threaten her tenuous hold on a new life…and a second chance at love?
I swear I was born with a book in my hand and that is how I spent most of my childhood. That was fine until I got older and the voices in my head demanded to be heard and I started to write. The voices are no quieter but there are less of them.
This is the first in the Hope Harbor series set on an island of the coast of Seattle and a beautiful second chance romance, that has all the feels for a true romance, there are a few ups and downs before native islanders Drew Hope and April Williams get their chance at love the second time around and forever this time.
April Williams has arrived back to Hope Harbor after marriage filled with problems that have left her feeling unsure but one thing that she is sure of is making a safe and happy home for her two beautiful children Tilly and Leo. She applies for a job as nurse manager in the local hospital clinic and runs straight into her first love Dr. Andrew Hope and it is not long before she know what she always did that she had never stopped loving him.
Drew Hope came straight back to the island after his studies and has worked hard to get over April and the way she left him, but one look at her and memories come to the surface leaving him re-thinking what he wants out of life and with the help of his father and aunt and siblings it is not long before he is doing his best to re-kindle their love, if only he can get her to open up about what happened to her life after marriage.
This is a lovely small town romance that had me turning the pages, the Hope family are such loveable people and re-open their arms to April and her children when she returns, I loved getting to know Drew and Hope they were always meant to be forever just with a little turn in their path and now they are back together and more in love than ever. I loved this one and am looking forward to getting to know the other members of the family, I have no hesitation of recommending this story, thank you MS Harrison.
I just finished reading Forever This Time by Ann B. Harrison. This story is book #1 in the 5-book Hope Harbor series. The story centers around the second chance at love for childhood friends April Williams, and Dr. Andrew Hope. In the past, they were inseparable young lovers, but the stresses of medical school derailed their best intentions. April married a soldier, and they had a daughter, Tilly and a son, Leo. Tragedy rose up when her husband succumbs to PTSD, becomes abusive toward April, addicted to drugs, and finally commits suicide.
April does the best that she can, determined to give her children a better life. She finally decides to return to her homeplace, the island of Hope Harbor. Many of her happiest times were there. Her childhood had been made great… not by her parents, but by Drew, and his family. His family now welcomes her and her children with that same love. Drew is blindsided by April’s return. He’s still hurting from their breakup 15 years earlier. Joy occurs, but so do complications. Will April and Drew be able to reclaim that same love that once burned true?
The beauty of this story is in the detail. The author vividly describes everyday life that invests the reader to the story. A teenage girl recovering from bad burns. A little boy gathering beach treasures. An island patriarch who will absolutely support the people he loves. A young couple, monetarily poor, but overflowing with hope because of a newborn baby. I adored the supporting characters. Each one brought an incredible wealth of color to this story’s literary rainbow. Drew’s father Atticus, Aunt GiGi, sister Aggie, brothers Matt and Arlo, Drew’s business partner Liam, patient Cora, new parents Sally and Paul Frasier, friend Bradley, and his dog Rocket. This book would be a perfect “beach” read, or in 2020, perfect if you are missing the beach!
April and Andrew’s love story in Forever this Time by Ann B. Harrison, book 1 in the Hope Harbor series, is a second chance trope as well as intriguing, sexy, and enjoyable tale. After the death of her husband and with the harassment of her in-laws April returns to Hope Harbor; the only place she ever felt safe. In order to support herself and her two young children April takes a job as a nurse at the clinic owned by Drew, her first love. Dr. Drew Hope never forgot his childhood sweetheart; but as a doctor on the small island where they grew up he acts as if he’s moved on with his life and forgotten about her. Working along-side her, living near her, getting to know her children, spending time with her, is definitely a test of his patience, memories and feelings. After being in a difficult marriage April is not sure she is ready, or wants, a second chance at love; even though she knows Drew loves her and treats her like a queen.
Ms. Harrison wrote a fun, second chance romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving April and Drew a second chance at a forever love. I highly recommend Forever this Time to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I like second chance romance stories but this one was just okay. It seems like Drew was overly obsessive concerning April. He didn’t know if she would ever return to the island, yet he built his home with her in mind and never dated anyone else seriously because he compared them all to her.
He should have been more patient and understanding with her rather than move as fast as he did. He initially didn’t know what she had been through but still should have shown more patience. There was one sentence stating she was uncomfortable working in Drew’s office, then she later claims she loves her job.
When Drew hears that April’s daughter is named Tilly, he thinks to himself that that was the name he and April would have given their own daughter if they had one. Why was this even part of the story when nothing is brought up later to explain why she used that name with a child by another man?
There is a little drama with April’s former in-laws but then she gets a restraining order against them and we never hear anything more about them.
There were also quite a few errors in the book. Another reviewer mentioned the use of brought vs. bought. There were a couple of instances where “to” and “too” were used incorrectly.
Ann B. Harrison brings us a lovely second chance love story. Drew Hope and April Williams grew up as buds and then lovers on the small island of Hope Harbor. April had a horrible home life and escaped to the Hope family home. But the Hope family was not without its own tragedy, when Drew's mother died after giving birth to his sister. When Drew was in medical school, he was overwhelmed, neglected April and she left him for a marine. Fifteen years later she is now a widow with two children and has come back to Hope Harbor so her children can grow up on the island. Drew has never gotten over her, but although she still loves him, she is carrying around secrets, guilt and too many reservations about ever having another relationship with a man- even her best friend.
Wonderful characters and heartwarming story with humor and drama, ups and downs, just like in real life. I read an ARC from the author. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
When April Williams returns to her island hometown of Hope Harbor with her two children in tow, she is in pain after the tragic circumstances of her husband's death and its aftermath. She immediately secures a job as a nurse in the town's medical practice - where her first love, Drew Hope, is one of the doctors. Drew has his own baggage from the past, but he also cannot let a second chance with his first love slip through his fingers. While these two work to find their way back to one another, they have lots of help from a cast of excellent supporting characters - Atticus, Gigi, Aggie, Bradley, Liam, and of course Tilly and Leo... With friends and family like these around, Hope Harbor is a beautiful place for two broken souls to find healing - and a sweet second chance.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This second chance romance introduces me to Hope Harbor and this wonderful Island family. When I say family i mean of blood and of the heart. We are quickly introduced to the Hope family which are not just a big family in size but also in heart as well. Drew is a doctor along side his friend Liam have a practice on the island and need a nurse. So Liam hires one...just so happens she broke Dr Drew's heart 15 years ago when she left him for someone else in college. Life is never exactly what it looks like from the outside and Drew has to find out for himself the story that April has led to bring her back to the island with her daughter Tilly and son Leo. This book does have some issues about domestic violence in it so if it is a trigger for you please be aware about that. Our author has written a book that touched me deeply on so many levels and I can not say how much it called to me. I had to start on the next book s soon as this book was finished...
Drew still carried a torch for April. Did he really have the idea 'lets move on and just be friends' or did he want more? Even as a teenager, he knew how to woo her.
April still liked hime. Too much to be honest. And why wouldn't she? Even when she was married to Rob, she didn't stop thinking about Drew. "Look how her marriage turned out!"
Drew was a lovesick fool! April had a lot of baggage that she can't let go of just yet. Drew himself was dealing with demons of his own.
They knew they wouldn't stay apart for long and with the help of family, can they get a second chance at a new life and love? Happy reading!
Forever This Time is a fantastic second chance love story. Drew and April were friends and lovers until she left Hope Harbor and married another. Fifteen years later, she returns with her two children, Tilly and Leo. The Hope Family was there for April in the past and they’re there for her now, except for Drew. Liam, Drew’s business partner and fellow doctor, hires April as their nurse. Drew doesn’t react well to that fact. Can these ex-lovers put aside their differences and work together? Will April be able to provide a stable environment for her kids, after what they’ve been through? Grab your copy and get ready to fall in love with Hope Harbor.
Themes include domestic violence and mental health issues and I feel it could have been developed into a much longer and deeper book, rather than things progressing as quickly and relatively smoothly as they did.
But, on saying that, I enjoyed this book overall. A nice light read. Second chance romance. Good bones to the story and likeable characters - easy to become invested in the family and their lives. And, I will be reading the next one in the series.

I really enjoyed reading this second chance romance set in Hope Harbor a small island off the Seattle coast. Drew and April were sweethearts but life had other plans. After some heartaches in her life, April moves back to Hope Harbour to take a job at the local clinic, where unbeknown to her, Drew is working as a doctor...
I loved this small town romance! April and Drew were very likeable characters and the story had ups and downs and plenty of drama. Forever this time kept me up reading way past my bedtime and I'm looking forward to reading the next books in the series.
This is a really sweet and enjoyable second chance love story set in Hope Harbor, a small island off Seattle. April and Drew were childhood sweethearts destined to be together but life kept them apart and both grew up and moved away and went on to suffer losses in their life. Theirs is a coming back together story. They are surrounded by a fantastic supporting cast of characters that you know we'll meet again in future books. Thanks to Ann for a review copy.
April has come home to Hope Bay after a very trying time. Drew and she were childhood friends and then lovers, until they went to college. Drew was astounded to see her after fifteen years. There follows a heart rending story about domestic violence and medical issues.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was a nice second chance romance. The characters had good depth, sense of family, & for some...hidden love. The only issue I had with the book was the lack of communication between so many educated people. If you can accept the love and strength from family & friends, how does that allow people to pick & choose what to hide from these same people?
Premature with their sexual activity and attachment such that with its lack loss was felt and love was sought elsewhere but found its way back. It's amazing how we can see the needs of others but not our own.
I was a little disappointed that there was not a sense of Australia in this novel. The beach could have been anywhere in the world. The story, however, was sweet and the characters reasonably likeable. I did find April a little whiny.
I think the name of this book should have been The Children, because every other word was "the children". Overuse of the word children. Erked the heck out me.

* Ah, suspirei nele, chorei um pouquinho como de costume, fiquei encantada com eles, achei que a April em alguns momentos estava exagerando e então logo foi revelado o que se passou, foi doloroso.
Uma música para eles, nosso hino, Evidências, Chitãozinho e Xororó, e I Want That it Way, Back Street Boys.
Foi uma leitura muito boa e espero ansiosa pelo próximo livro. Está no KU para quem quiser ler, aproveitem o preço especial da Black Friday 2020 para adquirir o livro 4ever.
Forever This Time is the first book in Ann B Harrison’s Hope Harbour series and is set on an island off the coast of Seattle, Washington. This is very much a story of second chances for both April Williams and Dr Andrew Hope, the man she dumped fifteen years earlier when he was doing his medical training. April is newly widowed and back on the island with her two children Tilly and Leo, all three of them clearly traumatised by the violence that was a feature in her marriage. Drew is also dealing with issues. He’s never stopped loving April and has even renovated his house in the style he and she had discussed when they were teenagers. Both April and Drew are likeable characters and it was easy to identify with them and to feel the anguish that April in particular was feeling. I also liked the supporting cast, particularly Drew’s father Atticus. Hope Harbour is a warm and all encompassing community where family values matter and this strongly appealed to me. This story is warm and engaging and a very enjoyable read.

Vale a pena ler!!!!
