No turning back. No backing down. And no surrender…

When Angela McAllister and Connor Wilcox are asked to help find out who — or what — killed a de la Paz clan private investigator, Angela agrees with only a slight hesitation. After all, with Connor at her side, she and her unborn child should be safe.

They quickly learn the entity haunting the Tucson crime scene is stronger than anyone anticipated, with uncanny powers they can barely fend off, much less identify. Only Levi McAllister, with his otherworldly origins, has a chance of figuring out what they’re up against…but he insists on going alone, and only after Angela and Connor’s twins are hidden away.

But when Levi vanishes, and news comes to light that a pair of old enemies have died simultaneously, Angela and Connor realize their clans are being set up for destruction.

The days of choosing whose unique powers best fit a given situation are over. Only by joining forces and combining powers — and learning to control dangerous new ones — can they defeat their deadliest enemy.

Once and for all.

A native of Southern California, Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in the sixth grade. Many reams of dead trees later, she’s happy to announce that her debut novel, Fringe Benefits, was published by Pink Petal Books on April 8, 2010. Her short fiction has appeared in Astonishing Adventures, Luna Station Quarterly, and the new journal of dark fiction, Dark Valentine. Her paranormal novella, Playing With Fire, was released on August 5, 2010.

While Fringe Benefits is a straight contemporary romance, she writes in a variety of genres, including paranormal romance, fantasy, horror, science fiction, and historical romance. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection.

After spending many years in the magazine publishing industry, she now works as a freelance editor in addition to writing fiction. She lives with her husband and an explosively fluffy Pomeranian mix. Her house is pink, but don’t hold that against her.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am a long-time fan of Christine Pope, and her clear, fresh writing style. This is by far my favorite series. That said, some of the more recent entries in the series left me a bit underwhelmed. That's why this final (14th, I believe) book exceeded my expectations! The action in this one is ramped up from previous books, but not nonstop, which is how I like it. In between new revelations or threats, we still get glimpses of the characters' daily lives. And this book allows us to check in with nearly all the characters from the previous books, especially my favorites, like Angela and Connor, Levi and Hayley, and Caitlin and Alex. I got a little lost when some characters I didn't clearly remember were brought in, but that was minimal. Some loose ends were also neatly tied up, and the climax was exciting. Not everything ended well for everyone, but that was ok. I'm sad that it's over, but glad that another witch series is on its way.

An amazing end to a phenomenal series. Christine Pope’s DarkTide was not only suspenseful but absolutely mind boggling. It enhanced Angela’s and Connor’s relationship as husband and wife, Prima and Primus, but most importantly, as strong individuals who love and respected each other. This final book in the series has so many twists, turns, heart-lifting and heartbreaking moments that it will leave you on the edge of your seat. I love the way Christine brought about so many of the previous characters into the storyline including Levi McAllister. Angela and Connor are fighting against the clock in this novel, and as time counts down, they make a decision that will affect the future of their Clan. There are plenty of jaw dropping moments that will leave you stunned. Trust me, you have no idea what's about to happen. The villain is a dark Warlock, who wants to bring domination of the entire Southwest Clans. It finds Angela and Connor surrounded by enemies that will bring the struggle for dominance to their own doorsteps. Despite the bleakness that they face, all the Clans fight together, and they come out even stronger. DarkTide is enchanting and extremely well written. This book will not disappoint fans of the series, and is definitely worth the read because while you will fly through the pages, you will never want the story to end! But yet, it does leave you with an inclination that somehow these same characters may be seen again in another series of Ms. Pope’s; “Witches of the Canyon Road”, a spinoff of the “Witches of Cleopatra Hill”, releasing in March 2018. I highly recommend DarkTide but in order to do this book and the series justice you must start from the beginning in order to fully understand the entire storyline. Excellent job, Christine !!!!

Darktide ( The Witches of Cleopatra Hill - Book 14)

This is the final book in this series and ohhh what a story it is!! Angela and Connor, she the Prima of the McAllister's clan and he the Primus of the Wilcox clan, husband and wife, had their lives, the lives of their children and family turned into one terrible situation after another.
Joaquin Escobar, a powerful Null, had attacked, murdered and mind controlled his way to take over the California clan - the Santiago's. He now had the other California clan, the Ludlows, backing his evil and murderous obsession to rule all the wizarding clans in Arizona.
Angela and Connor were unable to defeat Escobar on their own, so help from the New Mexico clan, Isabel Castillo the clan Prima, offered to help. But her help came at a very upsetting price, a demand that had far in the future repercussions.
This story was hard to read at times, as death ran rampant, deception, threats, kidnapping and evil powerful magic consumed page after page of the story.
In the end, good finally did overcome evil, but so many good lives were torn apart or destroyed by Escobar and his followers.
Love is one of the special themes in Christine Pope's stories and it entwined through out this story as well, reminding us that even when evil seems to be rein, love will always win in the end!!
This is a wonderful series and I highly recommend it.

Angela McAllister and Connor Wilcox had their happily ever after. Now the parents of 5yr old twins and finding out there is a new baby on the way they should be ecstatic. But when an allied pack loses one of their own and send out a plea for assistance, they can't ignore it.

A de la Paz clan member, who was a private investigator, died in supernatural circumstances and Angela and Connor, along with a few other clan members decide to assist. But this is no ordinary enemy, demon or warlock. It is going to take the entire clan and all their misaligned "talents" to save not only themselves but the "civilians" around them.

Levi is back and just as badass as ever. He is such a jack of all trades, just what this emergency needs. I loved the overriding sense of danger throughout this book. All the loose ends were tied up and even though I was sad to see this series end, I was happy to see that there is going to be an offshoot series soon! Superb as usual!

Final Chapter of the Saga.

The final part of this great, very exciting and entertaining tale was truly heart stopping. I sat up reading long after I should have been sleeping! Thoroughly enjoyed the writing and story telling of all the books, but I think this matched the settling of the Damian Wilcox problem. I can honestly say I haven’t enjoyed a series as much since I read Anne McCaffrey’s dragon epic. Can’t wait to try another series by Christine.

Cleopatra Hill

I have read this entire series and it was amazing! It kept me hooked from the first book to the last and it was so intense that I was as if I was watching it in a movie rather then reading it! I cannot wait for the spin off series and thank you for being such an amazing writer with a wonder imagination!

Grand finale

Great way to end this series, even though I could go on reading about these with clans for years to come. Loved every single one of the chapters in the series. I cried, laughed and mourned along with the characters. I can't wait to read the next series The Witches of Canyon Road.

I stumbled upon this series of Christina Pope's and I have read everyone of The witches of Cleopatra hill books.

Love these books. Normally I don't like to read the same writers books one right after another, but not this series way different. I read all 14 books in a row and I couldn't put them down.

Brilliant

The Witches of Cleopatra Hill by Christine Pope. 14 books in this first series. All about witches who live very ordinary lives amongst ordinary non witch people. But behind that facade ....... A really very good read. I would recommend.

Round about ending

Kinda got predictable. Well written but lacked the fire and flare for the characters we’ve been emotionally attached to for so long.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Darktide is the final book in the Witches of Cleopatra Hill series by Christine Pope. This book is the close of a series and is tremendously enhanced by reading the series in order. A heart pounding and emotional read, Darktide brings us to the end of one adventure and preps the way for the spin-off series The Witches of Canyon Road which Ms. Pope has announced for March 2018. I really enjoyed this read because it tied up many loose ends in an unexpected way. I loved that the characters continued to grow throughout the series and even in ending the series, you question whether this is the last the we will see of the Cleopatra Hill family of witches. I plan a re-read of the entire series in order because it was That Good and I can't help but look forward to the whatever (or wherever) Christine Pope takes me next!
