Sergeant Ash Denton and her wife forensic psychiatrist Lana Denton are baffled when wealthy, beautiful women in their town are targeted by a vicious serial killer. Only in fiction books are law enforcement officers allowed to work one case at a time. Follow Ash and Lana as they work cases involving an internet pedophile ring, drug cartels and prostitutes while trying to stem the flow of dead bodies left behind by the serial killer. Ash is accustomed to dealing with murder and death, but she learns the true meaning of fear when the serial killer targets Lana, the woman that makes Ash’s life worth living.
With a degree in accounting, I set out to conquer my quiet little corner of the world. My plan was to work for a major accounting firm and live a comfortable life. One never knows where fate will lead. I soon discovered I liked taking chances and started acquiring small parcels of land to resale. Within a year, I found myself immersed in the fun of land brokering. My native state, Texas, is a wide-open community of wonderful people and vast amounts of land. Opportunities in Texas are limitless. Texas and the fact that I am a workaholic were the perfect recipe for success. I have visited every state in the U.S. and lived in some, but Texas is always the one that calls me home. I thought I had the world by the tail; a nice little ranch that bordered a Texas lake, a horse and a few head of cattle. Life was good. Then I met a woman and life was no longer good, it was amazing. Now my life is an adventure of love and laughter. My partner encouraged me to begin writing. I published my first book in 2014 and have been successful in the Mystery/Suspense genre. Too Strong to Die is my first gay book. I am proud to say that after one week, on 2/1/2017, it is the #1 (Paid) Lesbian book on Amazon. Thank you so much for making it happen. Please let me hear from you. Should I continue writing for our community or stick with my Mystery/Suspense books?
2.5 rounded to 3. Its a bit difficult for me to believe this was written by Erin Wade. It’s certainly my least favorite thus far. The relationship between Ash and Lana is over the top and they wore me out with their goo goo gah gah over each other. They kiss at crime scenes for goodness’ sake! It’s completely unprofessional. It’s also wildly inappropriate for a psychiatrist to be socializing on such an intimate level with a patient. There are two other couples and both are instalove, marry me after a month kind of relationships. Finally, here’s something else that bugged me; when the characters are speaking they often don’t use contractions (e.g. I do not think she is a killer). It’s just weird and makes the dialogue awkward and stilted. Who talks like that? I’ll tell ya one thing for sure; we don’t talk like that in the south...
An incredible page turner and action packed thriller, mystery, you name it. A story with a fascinating plotline, multiple cases, a killer twist, strong female lead characters and three thrilling love affairs. I won't give any details away but I can guarantee, you will experience a pulse racing, thrill ride and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is one of the most exciting and dramatic thriller I've read and the ending caught me completely by surprise. Erin really nailed it again.
Wow is all I can say. This was an awesome mystery/thriller. Erin did a killer (no pun) job with the storyline. There was so much going on that at first I thought I was going to get lost, but I didn't. The characters made the storyline to. I can't say I didn't like any of the characters even the bad guy. I just downloaded the rest of the books written by Erin. I definitely recommend this book.
A good solid murder mystery with lots of sub plots going on. Plenty of fast paced action that kept me gripped and I read it in one sitting. I liked all the characters, Ash and her wife Lana, Trinity and Risa, but especially enjoyed Jessica Barton and Christine Canton’s relationship. I totally enjoyed reading this book. I love the writing of Erin Wade and look forward to reading her next book. I recommend Branded Wives.
Loved it! Great murder mystery. Lots of twists and turns that had me constantly guessing, and then second-guessing who the killer was until it all came together in the end. The author practically gives the answer away towards the beginning of the story...but of course, I didn't catch it. I can't wait to re-read the book now that I know...
This was one of those stories I couldn't put down, which is true with most Erin Wade books. The cast of characters are delightful and each one has a quirky something that brings humor or heartbreak to the moment. Since I read fiction to escape everyday stresses I love to have the bad guys lose and the good guys win, every time. In some universe the good guys need to be winning.
Erin Wade is an amazing writer. I loved this novel. The characters were well developed and had wonderfully diverse personalities. The story itself was engaging that the book was hard to put down. The most outstanding thing about this book is how busy it is. There are several sub-stories going on and each is as intense as the other. With everything happening it is not a book that is confusing. There is some fun tongue in cheek humor involved which just adds to the richness of this work. This truly is a page turner. Erin Wade's ability to keep the reader engrossed is uncanny. I feel like a commercial for Erin's work.
This book was mediocre for me. I think that the synopsis was misleading because we don't really get Lana and Ash's story alone, we actually get two more couples highlighted in this story. I really had high expectations for this one but after finishing it, I thought how I just wasted my time reading this. The writing was good, honestly, but the story felt like it's all over the place with all the three couples and finding out who the BW killer is (which I'm frustrated to find out only at the END of the book) And by that time, the revelation of who the BW killer felt totally anticlimactic.
Another great story by Erin Wade. All of her couples are so smart, beautiful and loving. I like the way she builds a love scene and just lets you imagine the rest it very hot. Having Victoria Mei narrating is a major bonus. She has an amazing insight into the characters and her voice is to die for. Erin has quite the imagination for evil crime scenes it’s chilling. I listened to this as an audiobook.
Erin Wade has written a book that we really don't see the story ending the way it did. I really enjoy the characters in each of these stories. In this one there is no shortage of twists and turns to keep you thinking or guessing.
Erin Wade is a story teller of captivating stories that make the reader think hard. The murders, mystery, and the twists of the plot will keep you guessing, but probably will not be able to figure who the killer is until the very end. Of course there is plenty of romance even in the hard world of crime. There are so many couples to adore, and love and I am not sure which one is my favorite. Ash and Lana are married and love each other unconditionally. Christine and Jessica have a unique relationship and overcome their own obstacles, and lastly, Trinity and Risa are the new hot couple. Perhaps, I liked all the characters, and I even sympathized with the killer who was painted as softly and as realistically as possible. Great novel to escape from your own reality and life.
