Knowing Chad, I respect and love this all the more because it is not just a cool or lofty ideal, but something he and many others that the Lord, through Chad, have helped spur on to live. I am grateful for this book, for the work of the Lord in Chad’s life, and pray that I not hesitate to risk myself for the sake of Christ. Good stuff!
inspired and spurred on to share my faith more, pray for strangers, and live a life of risk. chad johnson (not ochocinco) is one of my faith heroes. he has given his life fully over to random daily encounters with strangers. the stories in this build my faith to be a walking encounter
This is not a 21st century American read. It’s more like Brother Yun in THE HEAVENLY MAN. It mirrors the book of Acts, where miracles feel more common than drinking your morning cup of Starbucks. I don’t know this author or his ministry group(s) but what I can say is that I’ve been changed by reading this book. I’m a fearful person from many things in my life that have made me feel afraid. But I also love Jesus with all my heart. Chad has inspired me to let go of that part—the one that calls fear my friend. Instead I just want to trust the Holy Spirit more—knowing He’s got my back (no pun intended—well kind of—after you read about all the healings of people’s backs). Read this if you need a reminder that God is still moving here and now—and even in your own life. :)
A book from an ableist, homophobic, Christian telling YOU how to accept and give more love in your life. The biggest lesson- go around and pray for people (even when they don't actually want you to) for conditions they were born with and walk away feeling superior.
Sharing your faith is scary and awkward and awesome and challenging and beautiful. This book is full of true encounters of risk taking and is very encouraging!
