Unwrapping Daddy
Lisa Lace

A quick, funny, and sassy read. But also with lots of spice like you'd expect from Lisa's books. Loved the characters.
Tom may have finally found that special someone missing in his life via a date site. Only he finds out when heading back to his hometown to help his sister out. She's a little bit more closer to home than he realizes. Can he handle the heat or will it burn him?
Zoe has had bad luck with guys constantly. If only she can find the perfect guy. Well she may have just found him. If only he wasn't who he was and his attitude still stinks like he's a teenager still. But when faced to face with him and a dilemma of her best friend. Can she pull through to make nice with him long enough to help her best friend and her kids?

Online dating at its finest! Tom and Zoe meet through an online dating site, they talk and talk for about six months. As they talk over these six months Zoe tells Tom where she lives, it happens to be the same place Tom grew up. Tom goes to his hometown for the holidays to spend time with his sister and her kids. He has not been home in years. Low and behold, he finds out the girl, Zoe he has been talking to online, lives in the same town. They are going to meet up in person and see how things go. Once they meet, they get a surprise when they realize they already know each other. Zoe is his sister, Megan’s best friend. Once they overcome the shock, things progress, then take two-steps back; goes back and forth like this for a while. Zoe has a hard time believing Tom is the man she fell in love with online. Tom is trying his best to prove to Zoe and his sister who he really is. He is not the person they think he used to be. This story if filled with two-people finding the love of their lives online and then meeting in person, having things turn from bad to worse in a matter of minutes. They struggle with their relationship due to the tragedy, which is in front of them, shining brightly. Will they get a Christmas miracle to save their relationship? Will Tom ever have a relationship with his niece and nephew? This is an excellent book about a love found and put to the test more than once. It is more than a five-star worthy book. You will not be disappointed to find out how things become for Tom and Zoe, and Tom and his sister and niece and nephew!

Alight who in the world talks to their sisters best friend for over six months learned all the details of their life and does not realize who they are? It was unbelievable but I was able to roll with it. The accident and quick turn around I could not get behind if the sister would have had this injury it would have been longer then 2.5 months before she was heading home. I also thought that Tom keeps getting the bad end of the stick I understand he had been gone for a long time but really everyone was putting him down because of the way he acted after years of being told he was wrong or a disgrace to the family etc. I just felt for the guy and thought he had the chance to be a better person than Zoe deserved. We cannot be together it will upset the kids part also put a bad spin on it for me but I got where the author was going with it. Zoe was a sweet character but she also seemed to snobby about the way Tom was and often though or treated him like he was a kid, you could tell she cared about the kids and the sister but there was just something off.

It was not that it was a bad book it was just not as detailed and full of a plot as I would have liked. It was a light read and was an extra from another book Exposed. In the version I got there were a lot of mistakes the wrong names being used or repeats in the text that kind of thing I was able to ignore these for the most part, but for people who are really stuck on grammar and the right placements throughout the story of names and places this book may drive you nuts.

I was pleasantly surprised with this read about a billionaire Tom, who has been estranged from his sister and her 2 kids for many years. His sister manages him to agree for a visit and stay for a couple of months. He agrees but his real motivation is a woman he met online and has slowly fallen for her. That woman happens to be his sister’s BF, Zoe, who he has known since they were kids. Zoe thinks she has met the man of her dreams and can’t wait to meet the man she has been texting with. A surprise for both when he shows up on her doorstep and they know each other. An even bigger surprise because the man online is sweet, caring and kind but the Tom that everyone knows is arrogant, thinks only of himself and is distant.
A great great read with steam and about a man who finally lets his inner self come out, a man that everyone is proud of when he steps up and does the right thing when his sister needs him. Along with Zoe who helps him but also is patient and understanding with him, allowing him to mature and let go of his false personalities he has come accustomed to. I loved the fact that there were no misunderstandings, minor communication problems that were solved instantly, no bickering or others standing in their way. A perfect holiday read to curl up on the couch with to put a smile on your face and make you cheery.

Finding your inner daddy

This was an unusual friends, but slight enemies, to lovers book. And it's true that we often judge others by how they look, so a great way to get get to know them is online. However, that's not always best bet because some people make up things online. But a man whose face is recognized everywhere, needs some anonymity. Online Tom could be his "true" self. There were no cameras, or tabloid after him. Just a person who was interested in getting to know him, and not the size of his bank account. Zoe and Tom had a great relationship online; the only thing they needed to do was meet. Meeting someone for the first-time you met online, in the flesh, is gut wrenching enough. But when Zoe opened the door to find her best friend's little brother where she was expecting her mystery man, she was SHOCKED to say the least. She had grown up knowing he was one way, yet she fell in love with a different man. How was that possible? The struggles that they both faced as they helped Laura, helped them grow together as a couple, Tom to shed his guilt, and Finally grow into the man she fell in love with. But why did Tom wait two years longer???? I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

Who🐺🍆🌋 Are You? I Really Want To Know!

ARC received for a voluntary and honest review!
For six months, Zoe💃💋 has been messaging a man she was matched 98% with. She knows his name is Tom🐺🍆🌋, and he's very wealthy, and he lives in NYC, but they have never sent each others face pictures. Seems unlikely, but this is part of the cuteness of this Christmas🎄 love💘 story.
Tom🐺🍆🌋 is coming to Portland, Maine to see Zoe💃💋, he's hoping she's the one! He's also coming to see his sister, Laura, and watch her two kids while she's out of town working as a wedding👰 planner for a week.
Tom🐺🍆🌋 hasn't figured out yet that the Zoe💃💋 he came to see us Laura's best friend since childhood👯, and he never could get along with her. Oops!
Zoe💃💋 hasn't figured it out yet either, since Tom🐺🍆🌋 was always called TJ when they were kids. She's all ready for a night of XXX sex, when he knocks on her door! Uh oh!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

This is a cute story about growing up and putting aside differences. People do change over the years. Time, environment and circumstances change people, even certain jobs change people. To make a relationship work and last, the two lovers💘 have to compromise at least some!

I admit I have not read a book quite like this. An estranged uncle taking care of kids he barely knows and falling in love with his sister’s best friend. At first things are rocky but he is so passionate, even when he is sulky or when he tries too hard and gets misunderstood. He has a good heart beneath those cold and awkward outer layers. And our heroine! She’s practically selfless in her giving nature but also strong and independent. I like that she is obsessed with flowers as well as her friend and her friend’s kids. It’s sweet and a relationship I can relate to as when I was young I had an ‘aunt’ like her too.

The dynamics in this book are awfully volatile, going from affection to irritation quickly and often but affection always won and I like that it wasn’t instant chemistry between the kids and their uncle. It certainly moved the plot forward, that’s for sure. It also made it hard to put the book down when even the heroine was exasperated with him. I loved this so, so much. I read it in practically one sitting.

This was a great read about first impressions and second chances. I loved watching Zoe and Tom’s relationship grow!
Tom is Zoe’s best friend Laura’s brother, Tom and somehow they connected on a dating app and really hit it off. However in person not so much. He is arrogant, self-centered and only thinks about himself. It has taken Laura four years to get her rich brother to come home for a visit.
Tom is willing to give it a chance one he finds out that the woman he has been talking to for the last six months was the Zoe he already knew. It was shocking at first but she has turned into a stunning woman. Too bad her attitude won’t turn off.
When a horrible accident puts Tom and Zoe in charge of Laura’s kids while she is in the hospital healing the sparks begin to fly, once Tom stops being an arrogant ass. They try to resist it because they both know they need to be there for the children, but how long can they hold out.
Once the New Year comes, Toms is expected to go back home, but will he?
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

This is a fun holiday romance that will get you into the holiday spirit! I usually cannot even like an arrogant man but you could see the hidden Tom under that arrogance. Yeahhhhhh, he kind of deserved the hard time his sister, Laura, gave him but you could also see that it took him back to his youth when it was a degrading time for him.

Zoe sure had her hopes up after spending 6 months texting with Tom, and when she met him, is not the same Tom of her dreams. So you kind of feel for both of them as they work on their relationship.

Add a little drama to the mix and they are really under pressure and they both are learning about the other. As they grow closer and the days go by, you wonder what is going to happen when the new year starts - will Tom go back to New York and his expensive living or is Zoe worth more than his previous life?

The book keeps you engaged and you don't know until the very end what Tom decides to do. Loved the ending - what a great HEA!

One of Ms. Lace's best. Zoe and Tom have been corresponding for several months and have developed a close relationship. Since Tom is going to be in the area, he and Zoe decide to meet for the first time. Imagine their surprise when they realize they knew each other growing up and didn't get along. TJ never felt "good enough" growing up so he left as soon as he could. Now he goes by Tom and is a huge success but he has lost a relationship with his sister and her kids along the way. What was supposed to be a quick trip home for the holidays with a side visit to his new "pen pal" takes a turn for the worse. First finding out who Zoe is and then a terrible accident. Now Tom is faced with learning how to be a true member of a family. Is he up to the task? What about any future for Zoe and him? Wonderful read.

What a fabulous book. I loved the story itself but Zoe and Tom's banter back and forth was the best. Not knowing that they knew each while talking via online was great. Zoe is Laura's best friend who is Tom's sister. They knew each other for years before he left to go to New York and hasn't been back for about 4 year. When he decides to come to visit his sister and her kids as well as meet his mystery woman who he's been talking to online for 6 months, his visit isn't what he though it would be. The run of bad luck that this family has is crazy but keeps you interested throughout the book. You will have to take a ride with this family on their ups and downs, how two people who have such a connection when you don't know who they are end up arguing from the first face to face meeting. Could they find that spark again? I felt the story was well written, the characters were a lot of fun and you felt for them during their times of tragedy. It's definitely a one-click purchase.

This is the first book that I have read by Lisa Lace and I honestly loved it. Tom a handsome, arrogant billionaire has been emailing Zoe, an interesting woman for 6 months. He feels a genuine connection with her and decides to meet her in his home town where she also happens to live. Tom will be staying with the sister he hasn't seen in 4 years trying to rebuild a relationship with her and her children. When Tom goes to Zoe's apartment he is shocked to realize Zoe is his sister's best friend and they can't stand each other. They decide to see if their online attraction can develop and begin to date. To complicate things, Tom's sister is involved in a serious car accident. “Unwrapping Daddy” is frustrating, tragic, heartwarming, sexy and romantic. Don't miss this book, it's a one-click must.

I’m sure it’s great...

But, the further I read, the more depressing it became. Not quite what I had in mind for a lighthearted, holiday romance.
I read romance when I want a little pick-me-up. Or when I find myself with an afternoon free, to just enjoy. And I read CHRISTMAS romances, to get into that Holiday mood.
This may not be the most depressing story I have ever read, but I fear that may be because I stopped just a few chapters in, with the children’s mother, the H’s sister, and the h’s best friend, in traction, fighting for her life, as those around her, fought with their fears and grief.
Not exactly the romantic, holiday pick-me-up I would prefer for a light afternoon romance. It may get better. For those able to stick with it, I hope it does. For me, it got way too heavy, way too dark, and too sad for me to enjoy.

I'm not a fan of contemporary romance books. Or at least I didn't think I was. Lisa Lace is fast converting me. This book had me crying, laughing and even face-palming at times. Any book that can get those emotions out of me deserves a 5-star rating. I love the characters and how believable they are. I especially like the fact that the two main characters didn't just meet and fall hopelessly in love over a weekend. I know...it's romance and you have to suspend your beliefs and all, but it is so much better when it is realistic - they've been talking online for 6 months and are childhood friends to boot. I guess I just think it is so much better when you don't have to suspend your beliefs. In any case this is a great book that I am sure you will like as well and I do.

Zoe and Laura are best friends, and Zoe goes out of her way to help her widow friend and her children, as they are practically their family.
Zoe has been talking to the man of her dreams online for six months, and when it comes time for them to meet, Tom is nothing less than Laura's brother, and things don't go as planned on that first date.
When TJ, Laura's brother, appears to spend the holiday parties with them, Laura arranges for him to look after the children for a few days, but not everything goes as scheduled, and Tom and Zoe have to look after the children together while deal with unexpected events and try to understand their feelings.
This is a great story, with moments that made me laugh and others filled my eyes with tears.
I highly recommend the reading.

A billionaire who wants someone to care about him for who he is and not how much money he has, and contrary to what the title what might lead you believe, neither of the main characters have children. That right there is reason enough for why you should read this one. If that isn't reason enough for you I will give you a few more. The story line is amazing! It isn't just about finding the person you want to spend your life with, it is also about finding out who you are and what really matters in life. It is about what it means to be part of a family, and how important it is to tell those we love that we do in fact love them. It is about letting go of hurts and learning to trust. It is especially wonderful to read a story like this around the holiday, and I loved every minute of it.

What a great read, no ridiculous drama that doesn't happen in real life. Just some minor misunderstanding that were solved quickly. Tm hasn't visited home in years but his sister finally gets him to come back for a long visit. While he is there he's gong to be watching his niece and nephew with his sisters best friend helping out. Tom has an ulterior motive for coming home. He met someone online and he wants to meet her in person. Come to find out, it's Zoe, his sisters best friend. That doesn't make sense to her since the man she has been texting seems like the perfect man, sweet, charming, etc. And Tom is the ultimate Scrooge. However, these 2 have to work together with the kids!!!

It's a great read and I couldn't put it down!!

I am typically not a fan of Holiday themed books because I’m weird like that but after being given the chance to read this for a honest review I really liked it. It’s not as fast pace as some of Lisa Lace’s other books the romance between Zoe and Tom blooms over several months. As a regular relationship tends to. Even with the rocky beginning and family tragedy that strikes Zoe and Tom still manage to find what they were looking for in each other. And they fell for each other.

They were perfect for each other despite being from different worlds and they manage to come back and find a center and peace with each other. I really loved this book especially after getting past the petty bickering between them in the beginning.

This was such an unexpected story. These two have been chatting for months without knowing who they're talking to is someone from their pasts. When all the chaos starts, they're trying to work their relationship was online, but it's difficult with all the past judgments in the way. When they finally do get to a happy point, there's still chaos around them, but the time for him to return home is looming closer and closer. Everyone Must read this story! It's absolutely gut wrenching, romantic, and heart breaking all wrapped up in one. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book that I received for free.

Zoe and Tom start out chatting on-line and after six months decide to meet face to face when Tom is coming to Zoe's neck of the woods to visit family. Little do either of them know that they have already met, as kids when Zoe befriended Tom's older sister. Getting through that revelation proves hard until Tom's sister is in a car accident and Tom and Zoe are forced to put aside their differences to care for his niece and nephew. Each of them grows into the relationship as time goes on.

A feel good steamy romance.

I loved this!!! It was a seriously swest and sad romance. An estranged billionaire uncle who hasn't been home in years, finally gives in to his sister's pleas to come home for the holidays.
Zoe plans on spending the holidays alone, that is, other than the mystery man she's been talking to for the last 6 months. Little do they know, who they are really talking to!
I can't tell you how many times I teared up while reading this book. I couldn't put it down! It was funny, sad, heart wrenching, and so dang sweet. I loved the fact that the billionaire stopped acting like a billionaire!!!

I received a copy of this book from the author and I gladly leave my review.
This story is about Zoey and Tom, Tom is Zoey’s best friends brother and he used to tease and torment Zoey when they were younger. Zoey has always had a crush on Tom but they were just too young and Tom moved away but now he is back and he notices all the curves Zoey has got going on. I really enjoyed reading this book the storyline and characters and the chemistry between Zoey and Tom hot hot hot. I recommend this book and it’s well worth the read.

When he left his hometown, Tom was determined to stay away. Zoe is determined to be there for her friend and make her business a success. Two people communicating the the internet, not knowing who the other is. Will Zoe give Tom a chance when she realizes who he is? Will Tom thaw his cool exterior?

Loved the fact that these two had a past, but yet they weren't necessarily friends previously. I was so happy to see Tom come out of his hard exterior little by little. I loved Zoe's determination to put everyone first, but was happy when she took that step to write the note. Good read!

Unwrapping Daddy by Lisa Lace
WOW
Zoe has been having an online relationship with Tom for about six months. He is coming in October to meet her but when she opens the door it's TJ, the boy who picked on her in school. Her best friend is Laura, his sister. This is an enjoyable read and I am so glad I got to read this story. This story has sexy love and emotional pulls you in. I cried and laughed, hard book to put down. I loved the ride this book takes you on and think you will to. I received an ARC and have voluntarily left a review.

A sweet romance featuring her best friends brother Tom who has returned to town to take care of his niece and nephew.. He always flirted with her in high school, but was always arrogant and sure of himself. She was determined not to let him steal her heart, even if he was drop dead gorgeous. She agreed to help him with the kids but was determined to protect her heart. No spoiler here, but there's no cliffhanger and an HEA.

I feel that the title of this book is a little misleading at the start but towards the middle of the book it finally makes more sense. It was wonderful to see how the love in this story was allowed to develop instead of it being insta-love, to many books now a days have it. I would recommend anyone to read this sweet love story with a few rocky roads in its path. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Who are these people? Ohmigod...if it wasn’t for bad luck, they’d have no luck at all! Don’t get me wrong, this is an excellent book. The storyline is well presented; the characters are really something—even the ones you’d love to hate; plot twists are humdingers; and the HEA will definitely touch your heart. This is a Christmas romance worth your read. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and really enjoyed.) ❤️

Tom has finally agreed to come home and see his family; however, he also has an ulterior motive to meet the woman he has been texting after meeting online. He is socked to learn that the woman he is talking to is Zoe his sister’s best friend. Zoe can’t understand why it seems Tom is so different online as opposed to in person. When his sister is injured in a car accident will they be able to work together to take care of her kids? Fast paced, sweet and steamy. A good read.

4.5* (Downgrade because I felt a few things took place behind the scenes that we weren't privy to that information.)

Unwrapping Daddy is a story about two old nemesis finding out that they are really meant to be in a hilarious, heartwarming, saddening, and loving way. Plus you throw in a dramatic event, young child, and teenage girl...
